  1. Ten years, and two kids later, it feels pretty retro to me. Feels like a lifetime ago actually.
  2. Magic Kingdom, and a few other places. Some of the pictures have '94 on them, but that's wrong; my battery was going dead and it messed up the date stamp. And that's all I have. I'll try to find my really embarrassing 8th grade ones soon. Do you know what movie this is from? I do! Pretty woman, walking down the street... Pretty self-explanatory. Obviously, Planet Hollywood. This was in the hotel parking lot, I think. We liked the palm trees; we don't see those a lot in northeast Alabama. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. I'm going to spare you multiple pictures of It's A Small World and just give you two. Melissa and Br'er Fox. Br'er Bear I think this was in line for Big Thunder Mountain. I think this show was called Every Day's a Holiday. Maleficent...ooooh, scary. I think this lady said she was the mayor of Main Street, or was campaigning for mayor. Does anyone know who she is? This thing was deceptively high and hard to climb onto, which should have been an indication that we weren't supposed to climb it. But it made a cute picture. Elissa, they're looking for you! More pretty castle. It's the big castle, with a stupid crane messing up the picture. What's that I see at the end of the street?
  3. I dug up my pictures from my 11th grade trip to Orlando with the band and choir. No, I was not in the band, I cannot play an instrument (though I wish I could). I was on danceline, thus a "band auxillary." (uh-huh, big word). I didn't take any pictures of any rides, which I regret now. But I didn't really care about the rides (gasp) at the time. I have some more embarrassing pictures from my 8th grade trip, but I'll have to find them. Anyway, on to the pictures! And to wrap up the Universal pictures (yes, that's all of them!) here's me on TV. And more slime. I'm not really good with the snappy captions today. Slime Well, it's obvious what this one is. I just took a picture of the outside, but didn't go in. I don't remember why not. Now I wish we had. Who ya gonna call? Here's the second car. I don't think this was a parade, but rather just two cars driving around. Us with Fievel. Check out my totally 90's sunglasses. Yeesh. This is Brandy (another one), Melissa and Me with our bus driver. I have no idea why we took his picture; I don't think we even knew his name.
  4. I've heard of instances before of women not knowing they were pregnant until they had the baby, but I still find that unbelievable. So many things happen to your body while pregnant, aside from just gaining weight, that I find it hard to believe someone wouldn't even suspect it.
  5. I agree with those of you who were disappointed at the lack of bonus features. We bought the 2-disc and were stumped at so few special features. And the ones that were there were kind of boring. I've read that it's going to be re-released in Imax, and possibly conventional, theaters in January for the Oscar push. So maybe after that (and if it wins) they'll release another DVD.
  6. Yes, it does that too. It was a very controversial song for a sleepy little Alabama town. But they pulled it off well. He played Dr. Lyman Hall from Georgia, so he didn't get to say that line. But that was one of my favorites, repeatedly. I'm going to have to try to find the movie now. Who said Annie=yawn? Annie was the second show I was in, and the show in which I met my husband, so it's sentimental.
  7. I had never heard the music from 1776 until my husband was in a local production of it. Love it now; know all the words. When we did the show here, we had some people try to boycott it because the director wouldn't cut Molasses to Rum. Being in Alabama, a song about slavery doesn't really go over well with some people.
  8. I've just been listening to Oliver. I haven't seen the show, and really don't know much about it, but a coworker let me borrow the soundtrack and I really like the music.
  9. Your captions are always hilarious. Can't wait to see more.
  10. Speaking of Sloss, the Ghost Adventures show on Travel Channel just aired an episode last week of their investigation of Sloss. They got some pretty good evidence. It must be a prerequisite when filming a show in Alabama to find the dorkiest redneck within a 50 miles radius to interview. Back on topic, the ren faire looks interesting. I've never been to one, although I have theatre friends who used to participate in them. Your pictures are great, and the captions are hilarious!
  11. I'd like to see this movie, but I haven't read the books. I've heard mixed reviews on the books. Some people I know just raved about them, and then another friend said they were boring teen romance. So I've been undecided about whether I want to read them. I'd still like to see the movie regardless. Now if you're into vampires you must read the Southern Vampire Series (Sookie Stackhouse) by Charlaine Harris. The show True Blood on HBO is based on those books, although the show has strayed far from the original story. These books started before the Twilight series. They are definitely not teen romance.
  12. Just voted! TPR is way ahead!
  13. We're currently at $1.97. I can't believe how fast it's falling.
  14. I thought the ending was perfect for the story; I couldn't have imagined it any other way. But it was still sad! You could pretty much see it coming, but still sad. Oh my, Mulan, my 3-yr-old is obsessed with Mulan. She was Mulan for Halloween. She would watch the movie every single day if I'd let her. I've only seen a high school production of Les Miz; but I am completely in love with the music. I actually sang On My Own twice in high school for choir performances.
  15. Wow, this is an amazing project! Do you know your specific stops along the way yet? We'd be glad to come out and show our support if you swing through this neck of the woods.
  16. The first time I saw it I had only heard a little of the music beforehand, but knew very little about the story (especially the ending) and I was blown away. Even the second time I saw it, knowing everything that was going to happen, I still was in tears. That just attests to the talent of the cast to be able to cause that reaction in people, even knowing what's coming. A local college here is doing it in April. I'm anxious to see if a college group can pull off a show of that magnitude.
  17. Hmmm...maybe they have some kind of underground tourist operation going on up there.
  18. Yes, they are quite proud of Intercourse, aren't they? I found that part very amusing. Is Intercourse Amish? That's even more amusing for some reason.
  19. While I didn't love Sweet Charity that much, Christina Applegate was surprisingly good in it! Yeah, I was surprised to hear her on the soundtrack. I had no idea she could sing, but she sounds really good. Some of the songs are very catchy. But again, it's another show I haven't seen, only heard. So I have no idea what the show is actually like! I've gotten my 3-year-old hooked on musicals. She can sing along to all the soundtracks I have.
  20. ...I swear, your are actually insane! Haha, what are you actually saying Tyler? Chris, you just made me laugh out loud! But seriously, what the heck is he talking about?
  21. I thought the same thing when I saw those pictures! Very creepy! Y'all look like you had a lot of fun! I'm so jealous! I totally wish I could go on a TPR trip. I would love to meet all of you. Great update. Great pics. Love 'em!
  22. I just bought the soundtrack for Sweet Charity, with Christina Applegate. It's pretty good. I had only heard a few of the songs before, but they're all good.
  23. I didn't notice the Nitro seats until someone else mentioned it, then I went back and looked, and man, they are very gross; head and armpit stains. Someone needs to do some scrubbing! Yuck.
  24. I still have never been to Dollywood, but all the reviews I've read make me really want to go! It sounds like a great park. I'm trying to talk my husband into going during the Christmas season.
  25. Your captions are hilarious! Very entertaining. A great end to the Halloween season.
