  1. Dive Machines Download a song for $.99, or watch it live for $99.
  2. The chairlift at Lake Compounce is not for the acrophobic. It's got a really good view, but it feels like you can slip out at any time, the temperature drops by about 10 degrees at the top, and the distance between you and the ground fluctuates more than the stock market. The 30 minute ride time is pretty crazy too, and going down is worse than going up. I have mild acrophobia, and this is one of the few rides that scares the crud out of me (but I ride it everytime I go!).
  3. ^^Surprisingly, the SLC was a lot less violent with the old restraints. It used to be really smooth for an SLC. But then I rode it last weekend and it is clear that it hasn't aged well. The new restraints are very comfortable, but I would totally sacrifice comfort for a smoother ride. Anyway, these pictures are fantastic (I particularly like the shots of Hell Cat)! I can't wait to see the rest of the trip!
  4. Intamin Kindle or book?
  5. I would have to cast my vote in for Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great Adventure. I loved it when it was my first ride on my first flying coaster, but after that, it became progressively uninteresting. The pretzel loop is insane, but after that it just aimlessly meanders its way back to the station. The reason why I specify Great Adventure's is because Georgia's actually has some terrain work involved. Granted, it's very minimal, but at least there is more to look at on the ride than what used to be parking lot (I have not been on the Great America one or the Happy Valley one). Finally, after riding Manta and Tatsu, there's not a very big sense of creativity with Superman. Sure, the technology was young, but really it's a pretzel loop, four turns, a barrel roll and you're done. Surprisingly, I know people who say it's the best ride in the park (though I cannot blame them since I initially loved it). I'm pretty sure I'm beginning to ramble, but I hate it when people list down some of my favorite rides without explaining their reasons for doing so.
  6. Having all the coasters in the world replaced with Vekoma Boomerangs with the original Arrow trains. What's worse than getting hit by a wheel that flew off of a Morgan coaster?
  7. ^Don't forget X is not X2 and 100 feet was added to SFNE Bizarro
  8. Going through four years of college for a specific degree. Then the year of your graduation, one of the required courses is dropped from the college, but not for the major. So now you can't graduate and you have to look at other colleges for this one class that other local schools don't seem to have either. (True story, though it didn't happen to me, it was my girlfriend's brother). What's worse than a coworker coming to work wearing a "novelty singing tie" and keeps playing the thing around the office?
  9. A former co-worker of mine told me this. The operator's booth for Scream is at the top floor of a little two-story building just above the queue's entrance. One time while operating, a guest wandered up the stairs and opened the door to the operator's booth only to find the faces of two surprised employees. He responded with "Oh, sorry. I thought this was the exit." It's odd considering he never climbed any stairs to get on the ride.
  10. People who don't add enough letters to their sentences and type lik dis cuz its da cooool way 2 confus ur fghibts. What's worse than having the exact same name as a celebrity that everybody hates?
  11. From the North East Trip thread
  12. Bizarro Bash was crazy awesome! I've been going to SFNE since I was born and Bizarro Bash takes the cake as the most fun I've ever had at a visit. TPR Quest was so insane, so much fun. Winning a prize hardly mattered, I had such a huge smile on my face even when I couldn't find the items. I have so many people I'd like to genuinely thank for their efforts: Skycoastin' Steve: Are you superhuman? That beer was GONE! Thanks for your...sacrifice? TPDave: Thank you for putting your reputation (go ahead laugh, this guy's a trooper) on the line and flashing the audience. Vixie Reynard: Thanks for the bra I didn't catch the names of everybody else, but you know who you are. I'd especially like to thank who donated more items to me than everyone else. I'll be posting a full report later, but this was such a fantastic day.
  13. An alcoholic who has run out of brain cells. What's worse than sitting at a traffic light that will not...turn...GREEN!
  14. Theme Park Review on WFSB at 6PM in Hartford [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Quassy_gyk7[/coastertube] I actually like this report. The crew did a good job of not saying anything stupid or over-exagerate anything.
  15. Aww, no love for Zoomerang? Lol, actually, it's one of the better boomerangs out there. MUCH better than Flashback. Also, the ride attendants were very enthusiastic last time I rode. I'm loving the reports, keep them coming. Also, I can vouch for you that the chairlift is the scariest ride in the park. I have acrophobia, so I would not have taken getting stuck on the lift lightly .
  16. Smart @$$ Professor Xavier's powers! Maraschino cherry or a regular cherry?
  17. All of that, and then Lady Gaga buys Cedar Point and turns it into Monster Island. What's worse than learning from your parents that you were an "accident?"
  18. Fruity Pebbles (BARNEY!!) Swimming at the beach or swimming in a pool?
  19. Oh man! I had just finished getting that song out of my head just in time for that review. It was still a great video, though.
  20. Riding a ride that should be closed due to bad weather, and then getting struck by lightning on it. What's worse than accidently causing a chain reaction of destruction inside a fancy, famous china store; destroying several irreplacable artifacts worth thousands or dollars; crushing the owner's dreams because now he's in debt; and just when you think the worst is over, you bump into a glass shelf which falls on top of a hemophiliac senior citizen who was two days away from retirement???
  21. I would love a GIB, but Shipwreck Falls is the best themed ride in the park (sad, but true). Of course, a brand-new, awesome, themeless roller coaster does outweigh the standard, but nicely-themed shoot-the-chutes ride; I'd shed a tear if Shipwreck Falls were to leave. But a coaster for Crack-axle Canyon would be awesome. And since that section is already really-well decorated, I'd see no excuse to dress up the GIB (hypothetically speaking of course).
  22. Just curious, where did the Deja Vu rumor stem from? Also, I heard a rumor a long time ago that Six Flags broke ties with Vekoma after mechanical issues of the Deja Vu's. I have no clue if that is true, but since SFNE is my homepark, I'm enlightened.
  23. Papa Johns (are you craving pizza or something ) Air matress or memory foam?
  24. Italy ceasing to make pizza period (you have not eaten pizza until you visit Italy) What's worse than getting caught lip syncing during a concert?
  25. Giga Mel Gibson or Mel Brooks movie?
