GAME: What's worse than...
VinTheAttendant replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
Six Flags theming the entirety of all their parks to Hello Kitty and playing clips and songs from the show in all their queues. Including X2, all three hours of it! What's worse than memorizing all the formulas you need for a math test, and then during the day of the exam it all escapes you and instead you get a funny Youtube clip stuck in your head? (wait for it.....true story!) -

Meeting someone online, falling in love, and when you go to meet them, you are instead greeted by Chris Hansen and a camera crew. What's worse than a bunch of pirates bursting merrily into your house, crowding into your basement, and start excavating because that's apparently what their treasure map says? (true story???) -
For me, its got to be Batwing at SFA. I know the restraints are already complicated, but the crew was moving PAINFULLY slow, there was only one train running, the flash pass system was a nightmare, and what looked like a 20 minute line took an hour. Needless to say, it was a fun ride, but the crew looked like they could have used a Red Bull or two.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
VinTheAttendant replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hershey Park's Facebook page is getting pounded for the zoo incident. It's amazing how an amusement park can be labeled "neglectful," "cruel," or "evil" when something bad happens, especially when the incident was out of the park's control. I really hope that the park gets back on its feet, and I really hope the people P.O.ed by this incident stay away from the park. -
Nope, #2 right behind Boulder Dash Can you recite your top 10 favorite coasters by memory at any given moment?
-
No, I like seeing people give a little more to their answer. It gives the game some more depth. Do you own a K'Nex coaster?
-
That's not really fair to say. In several cases, ride attendants are not told what is wrong with the ride because the specific cause of ride delays are not their business, and it's not the guest's business either. This isn't just for Six Flags, it goes for just about every single park in the U.S. Sorry, I don't mean to lecture, but as a former employee I just want to get across that ride crews are not conspiring to keep you off the rides.

Wrong game, pal Have you ever been attacked by a swarm of bees?

Dragster by a smidge. It's raining; umbrella or coat (or both)?

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
VinTheAttendant replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This reminds me of one time when I worked on Mind Eraser at SFNE. The queue for the SLC is a little funky. First you pass under an archway, take a sharp left, walk inside the queue house and then immediately turn right. I was on height check duty one evening when closing time rolled around and I was told to put the chains up. There are two chains, one under the first archway and one in the queue house immediately after the sharp turn. After the chains go up, I begin sweeping the queue while I wait for the employees in the station to finish giving the remaining guests their ride. After about 5 minutes of sweeping, three young adults jump over the first chain and burst out running. Unfortunately, they were not aware that there was a chain in the queue house. The first man rounded the corner, flew into the queue house, immediately turned right, and *WHAM!* He ran into that chain, his head and legs flew forward and immediately flew back where he crashed to the ground completely winded. He hit the chain so hard that the hook snapped clean off. I felt sorry for the guy, but it would not have happened if he stopped at the first chain. -

Pulling the fire alarm during an actual fire, and nothing happens. What's worse than spending so much money boarding up your house for a predicted hurricane, only for nothing bad to happen? -
Yup. Firing range with the family and then spending the rest of the day on a train Do you ever try to get work done while traveling?

Cedar Fair buying both parks and giving generic names to the existing rides (The Indoor Space Ride, Log Flume, Mine Ride, Tower of Flight Deck, you get my drift) What's worse than thinking your paper is due today, only to discover your paper was due yesterday? -

^I know what you mean with putting stuff in cubbies only to turn around and find people in your seats. When I went to Quassy, a bunch of kids from different groups had a hard time figuring out how the individualized rows of the Wooden Warrior worked. The first time happened with a camp group of 10 year olds all wearing yellow shirts. The moment the gates opened, six kids in one row ran as fast as they could and filled up half of the train before the other two rows could take their seat. Apparently, neither of the ride workers saw the incident and the other two groups were pretty passive. Half a day later, same ride. A group of four kids want the luxury of sitting together as a group, but without having to let people go in front of them to make it work. Meanwhile, the camp group in front of them (oddly enough, also wearing yellow) worked hard to fairly get all eight of their group onto the same train. So, air gates open up, the impatient kids run in and suddenly mess up the cycle of the camp group. This time, the employees did catch them forced them back in line. Honestly, I knew how air gates worked since I was little, and I didn't need anyone to tell me how they worked. If you can't figure out how they work, then take a hint from the five or six trains of people ahead of you! -
If I were a 'jeep', yes, but a 19 year old making executive and financial decisions that could make or break a company? No freakin' way. Is there an appliance in your house that you have to kick in order to get it to work?
-
Yup, still my #1. Do you doodle roller coasters during class/work?
-
Markey is still at it!?! When is he going to realize that there is an entire OTHER SIDE to his argument? I won't give the researched safety statistic because everybody has already said them! And why are the physicians choosing just now to speak their minds? It's not going to be the tallest, fastest, or most violent ride in the park. Hell, it won't even be the first coaster to pull you up backwards in the park!
-
Pandemonium. It's a cute ride that doesn't kill you! Would you rather watch nothing but your favorite childhood shows for the next ten years starting now, or grow up again watching the stuff they play on various youth programs today?

??? Um....putting a price on breathing? I'm guessing you meant "water park"? What's worse than getting sued for something completely stupid? -
Considering Great Nor'Easter is worse than before, no. Have you ever been on a flat ride that is just as fun as one of your top ten coasters?

I'm embarrassed to say it, but I'm really excited for Goliath. I loved Deja Vu, it was one of my favorites at Magic Mountain, and now it's coming to my home park. I could care less if Flashback is already there, it's a darn good ride!
