  1. Batman: The Ride when it was at SFNO Though it looks pretty good as Goliath at SFFT.
  2. Does anybody else think that we'll see the B&M Ohio plant installing security fences to keep all of the people taking pictures/videos out?
  3. It could be a hyper. Or it could be a wooden inverted Auquatrax. The point being: We won't know until construction is well underway. Speculation's fun and all. But let's not get too serious.
  4. ^ I think we'll see Flying Turns, Kozmo's Kurves AND Golden Nugget all up and running before SFNO. The way Danny has talked on that board in previous instances is nowhere near professional. He's accused members of being against rebuild the park, saying that they want it to stay closed. Yeah, Mr. Rogers. They've been on the park's fansite for years just to tell potential investors just how much they don't want their plans to work. There's always SFFT. OldJJMan, thanks for knocking some sense into me.
  5. I'm really not going to keep high hopes for this. It's kind of pointless. From what I've been told, a news story will be released in approximately two weeks that will "break SSA wide open". This is being timed to happen at the same time as a board meeting they will be having. So be on the lookout, I guess.
  6. It's not like S&S chose to build this coaster for F1. It's what they were paid to do. If Company X gets paid X$...and X$ is high enough to catch Company X's attention, the company will build whatever their client wants. Hopefully the issues with the launch that doomed Hypersonic were addressed and fixed. I don't think the client would go with S&S if the problems weren't adjusted somehow--they might as well have just gone with Intamin otherwise.
  7. This is really intersting. And Tatum, the odds of this park sitting dormant for years are better than any chance to revive it. I appreciate the efforts to reopen it, and I'm going to support it. But I'm still skeptical. Thanks for the find!
  8. I can do nothing more than the video.I'm that...embarrassed? I'm leaving town for college.
  9. Yeah, ATR has it right. Weren't SW1 and 2 Arrow projects? One of them being a pipeline coaster prototype?
  10. I seriously need a break from TPR, I've been screwing up way too much. Thanks for clearing that up. See you in a few months, Alex
  11. Nice TR. the "Fish get thirsty/Dumb Test" is an advertisement from imageshack, which is the website he used to host his pictures. I don't think SF or any other park would remove a ride so something could be seen better. It was probably mechanical issues/the age of the ride that made SF take it out. But I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.
  12. This was great! I agree with everyone else on the positives: - Kickarse, compact layout that interacts with itself. - Realistic B&M style. - Nice colors! I also agree on the bads: - A few pumps. - It feels like it has too much hangtime (too slow in the inversions). - I also think you can tweak the final brakerun as well. Try grading the curve after the brake run so that the brake and the curve are both one continuous grade. This would probably give enough of a downward slope so that gravity could pull the train in the station without transport wheels. - Also, if you pull an Estop after the train crests the lift hill, it will get stuck on the MCBR with no hope of getting back down (unless it's wenched or pushed). Grading the MCBR into a slope or adding friction wheels could fix this easily. GOOD JOB! Best B&M I've seen in NL. I'm looking forward to more.
  13. Since when has TTD been themed? I mean, it's better than a coaster with an exotic name. But it's certainly not themed.
  14. He also had a roller coaster named after him. And this one, as well.
  15. How would I use the NL Track Packager to unpack a track I've downloaded from TPR? Thanks for answers :]
  16. I just downloaded the template for fun, but a nice little design came out of it so I think I might enter. You can count me in if there's an open spot. If there's no room, I'll just post it for fun. Thanks!
  17. If it's a hyper, that design is probably going to end up pretty close to that. Wasn't the name "White Lightning" being considered for this?
  18. This does have a lot of similarities with the Granite Park situation. I don't think the park will get going, but it's nice to see actual effort made towards getting it open. NOLA can't support a park. If this does open, Recession or not, it's going to have a hard time surviving the first season. Unless they're actually following through with the amazing transformation Danny has planned. Even then, it might be money better spent elsewhere. I'll cautiously support this as long as it's going. Cheers, Alex
  19. I thought I'd rekindle the age-old argument of whether this park will come back or not with this: promises from Mr. Rogers himself. - Funding is being secured. And so on and so forth. The money is coming from all over the place: federal grants and loans, investor money, HUD loans, and a few more sources. - The Skycoaster (upcharge attraction) faces the possibility of being removed. It will most likely be replaced with another attraction. - The two drop towers taken from the park, manufactured by S&S, will not be replaced. Something else is planned for the area. - Martin & Vleminckx rides has both inspected and placed bids on contracts for refurbishing rides. The four roller coasters and two other "major rides" are repairable, and will reopen. - The Jester will be turned around so it can run the course forwards for once. I would say, "You're welcome," but it's not 100% official the park will be back yet. - Both the "Legend City" name and the theme/waterpark fusion concept are still in place. This will be a hybrid park like no other. - One of the new attractions to be installed in the park is a custom-built train ride that features thematic elements. It will be located in the "Buzzard Creek" themed section of the park, wherever that will be (I'm assuming in the large space behind Jester, because that's the only place with room for it). I can't remember what theming will happen, but it'll basically be a story-as-you-ride concept. And the most exciting news..... - The MegaZeph (From the CCI Class of 2000) will go through an extensive rehab courtesy of M&V Rides. It will also be getting two brand new 12-car trains, costing a smidge under $600,000. The manufacturer, you ask? The Gravity Group. Yes, I'm talking Timberliners. Zephy could possibly be the first woodie to run them. So take that with a grain of salt or a ton of bricks. Cheers, Alex Source: this forum.
  20. I don't get back home until Sunday night, so I hope you guys have snacks for the wait. But it looks VERY cool. They were hammering on that sucker almost the whole time. Especially the station area. Cheers, Alex [EDIT] I was talking to a ride supervisor, and apparently Terminator is slated to open on the 23rd. So take that for what you will, but it seems plausible.
  21. I got back from the park at about 5:30pm (from Valencia to LA). From 12-5, I managed to snag every credit excluding B:TR and Terminator. With repeats. The park was deserted. The longest line I had was a 20 minute wait for Deja Vu. All of the employees were remarkably nice, and some of them even asked how my day was going. The park was BEAUTIFUL. In my opinion, at least. It's a great place, no doubt. Terminator's sign now has lettering on it. I have some 200+ pictures to upload, which I can post once I get back to New Orleans on Sunday. Cheers, Alex
  22. My family and I are possibly heading to SFMM today (Friday) for a trip. I doubt crowds will be light, but are there any tips? I plan on heading back and getting X2 first, and then everything else is free game. Thanks! PTR to follow. Alex
  23. Actually, Floyd over here is 15. Lives in my neighborhood, in fact. I'm 17, and I would NOT have thought about any of this from the business/investor point of view. I'm too naive about that.
