  1. ^Don't worry Erik, I hear its usually one of the first things to break. They should be fixing that and several other sound effects heard in Central Florida parks come March and April.
  2. I don't think its the compact size of the batwing that makes Montu's more intense, I think its the speed. Comparing the two batwings, the most intense part of Montu's is in the trench. Montu finishes the heartline then dives down, picking up enough speed to be able to accomplish the entry into the batwing, which is much higher and more of a fuller half flatspin/half loop (RCT-terms) than Top Guns. You could take Montu's second half of the batwing and elongate it enough to throw an entry plaza underneath, heck you could stretch it to go under Busch Blvd and come out over in the parking lot, and it would still be more intense than Top Gun's because of its speed and tighter directional change going into the Batwing. enter from right to left. notice how higher and drawn out the entry to the batwing is. The distance at the bottom of the batwing doesn't matter enter from left to right. notice how much more looplike the entry is
  3. Blue Streak will be running, as its one of the only rides at Conneaut that they actually NEED to have running. The long closed rides that will be reopening are those such as the Tumblebug, Flyers, and Tilt A Whirl.
  4. Montu's batwing is definitely the more intense of the two, which is why it has a slight trimming going into it as well as the change in size of the entry angle and return found on Top Gun. Both are great inversions though, much better than those Cobra Rolls (ESPECIALLY the new versions with no forces at all....Silver Bullet and Hydra). Old Skool B&M elements rock!
  5. It was most likely Drachen Fire since its the one with the teal track, as opposed to Alpengeist with white track. I should say it WAS the one, as Drachen Fire hasn't run since 1998 and was taken down about 2-3 years ago after sitting idle for about 5 years. The stopped mentioning the ride on the train shpiel and everything once it was closed, even though the train went right by it. It would have been seen on the righthand side of the train between the long bridge connecting Festa Italia and Oktoberfest.
  6. "Savin' Me"- Nickelback
  7. Well that's kinda a bummer. Oh well, the locals should enjoy it, as there is nothing else like it nearby (except for Dodonpa, which is only slightly similar) Could have been worse, Space World could have finally installed the world's first Arrow-batic!
  8. ^Sounds like a challenge! I may have to bring a whole case and just hope there are 6 of them left by the time you meet up with me! Of course, the quicker you show up, the more beer there will be. It shouldn't be too hard to take a 6 pack of beer on a plane.
  9. Hooray for post 666! My 14 year old cousin seems a bit jealous of my knowledge and experience with the brews As a random snack, #9 and some cherry pie, because I had no Lindemann's Kriek Its Hopbackular! Sticking with the Hops theme of the day, a Troegs Hopback, served the only way appropriate, in a Hopback glass My Sweet 666 pose, with a Stone IPA and its demonic gargoyle logo
  10. Yeah, sorry, but I have no simpathy for anyone who chooses to move near an amusement park, no matter how "small" they may seem. We've had this problem for years at Dorney Park with people yelling about the noise level, yet the park is guaranteed to have been there longer than they lived in their house nearby. Just because they weren't purchasing multi-million dollar scream machines back then doesn't mean they never will. And I love how the city council will always side with the citizens instead of the park, even though without the park, the tourism would drop dramatically, resulting in the city pretty much being wiped off the face of the earth as far as business is concerned. Britain really wants to be like its child, America, doesn't it? Let us know when they start making lawsuits about their hot coffee being hot or they got fat from eating too much fast food. PATH-e-tic
  11. I remember when Robb almost drove his bumper car off the track, that was great! I only have the Rockville credit, and haven't gotten that desperate yet this off season to feel a need to ride something indoors, but its nice to know that if the need arises, I can get a quick fix 2 hours away.
  12. ^I don't think thats a Vekoma. Looking at the layout and the Dragon trains, I'd say its most likely a Wisdom Flying Dragon/Orient Express. Consulting RCDB, I am in fact correct: http://www.rcdb.com/id1878.htm Since I can figure all that out just by looking at 1 picture, I've definitely been involved in this hobby way too much. That said, I'm a coasterbator, 516 by my count, not including powered, relocated etc.
  13. Seeing how you haven't yet supplied us with whatever your 2nd letter to him said, I'm still with everyone else in that the comments he made were not rude and you and your party couldn't really be THAT oblivious to the situation in the park that day, especially after what Shockwave said about there being signs and whatnot. Furthermore, if you were unhappy, you should have complained at guest services the day of your visit, not sending an email several months later. Let this be a learning experience for you.
  14. I definitely think more should be built, and yes they should be longer, as every one currently is under a minute in duration. I don't really care if they have more inversions, tophats, bunny hills, trick track, dueling sections or strange S curves, as long as they're fun its all good.
  15. Can't start the week off any better than with a Hop Devil! Yeah, that look can only mean one thing, great beer mmmm, goodness
  16. "Falling"- Staind
  17. Nice Soeren! Reminds me that I need to either start taking my camera out with me more often or just wait until my friends are drunk enough that they don't care if their pictures are posted on the Internet!
  18. Thanks to SOMEONE!, "Right Between The Eyes"- Garbage
  19. I found this at the bottom of the 'STICKY' pile and realized I hadn't updated yet today! (shame on me!) And the night was capped off with a Storm King by Victory, because you can't get much better than that at the end of the day Followed by a Winter Warmer by Lancaster. (yes, its still cold here, in fact the news just announced we're in a Code Blue for all those old people who don't know whether to put on warm clothing, or sit naked) Then I took it to the EXTREME with a Stone IPA It was just as I expected, nothing spectacular Then I started off today by trying Penn Pilsner for the first time I finished off last night with a Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale just because I felt like it (no other good reason is coming to mind at the moment)
  20. A recent Rollercoaster! magazine put out by ACE had a full story on Blazing Fury, complete with layout. I think it was from last year.
  21. I don't think you'll ever see a looping sideways coaster. I think the forces would probably screw with those darn pesky spines and necks we seem to need to use to walk and stuff.
  22. Its a Saturday and I had no good excuse to get out of town, so the family is all pouring over at random times. What could be a better reason to drink! Decided to follow it up with another fruit-blessed beer, the #9 by Magic Hat A nice fruity wheat beer for a nice fruity guy Then broke out the Purple Haze for my lunch beverage Started off the afternoon with a Hop Wallop
  23. I'd have to go with Expedition GeForce. I also love Kumba, but think I'd get bored with going upside down after so many rides. I'd also probably go for Balder, but think EGF would be less maintenance overall. Plus I like its setting in the woods.
  24. Its Friday! I decided to go to BrewWorks, in Bethlehem, since its closer to my date for the evening than Reading is. However, she didn't show, so at least I still had good beer and a friend! Happy weekend drinking everybody! (especially you, alternate reality Northampton Smith couple!) When I get home, its time to celebrate with a Belgian Tripel, Golden Monkey So concludes a visit to Bethelehem BrewWorks and the Steelgaarden Though I am more saddened that my Lambic is all gone Whoa, total not blue shirt guy is totally hooking up with the future Taxol queen right in front of me! BBW used to have special glasses for this, then they all got stolen. Stupid college kids! The king of the dessert beers, Lindemann's Lambic Framboise Its very tart, almost like if Sweet Tarts made a beer With so many beers now being too strong, they have to be served goblet style. The mug makes way for the Framboise Lambic My phone and I share the same love, the BBW mug! I got reacquainted with my mug Talea enjoys a Hoegaarten Mimosa, which is Hoegaarten and orange juice "Watch me shove my face in this bowl of soup!" And beer and cheese soup! Got some BREWchetta, beer soaked tomatoes, pure awesomeness, as an appetizer Its just slightly above average, though I do have a very limited selection to put up against it, Storm King being the supreme being Hooray! By 6pm I'm at BBW, enjoying the newest brew, Blast Furnace Imperial Stout, made by Beau from Pyramid! Yeah, its Friday, its a very sloooow day. Is it time to drink yet? Only Coke, crap!
  25. "Firefly"- Breaking Benjamin
