  1. As I was putting away today's purchases, I realized "dude, I've got a whole case of random Weyerbacher stuff here!" Fumbling through the case, I discovered tonight's lucky imperial stout, Old Heathen! *Sadly, I had no Jack Daniels to test this theory "I wonder, if I did a shot of Jack Daniels before this, would it taste like Heresy?" * "No, I'm not the Gordon's Fisherman, I'm the Old Heathen!"
  2. "Grey"- Yellowcard
  3. I was also underwhelmed by this weeks episode. I did laugh at the car ad slogan, but the rest of the episode, especially the bookie Stewie thing was pretty weird, in a not-so-funny way. American Dad is a show I never really cared for, though the Saudi Arabia episodes were pretty good. Usually I don't watch it though, as only those 2 episodes I considered to actually be funny. I'll usually only watch it if the forums are broken or if I'm too lazy to find the remote and/or get off the sofa.
  4. On tonight's quest to find Troeg's Nugget Nectar, I came up unsuccessful. However, I did manage to pick up some Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, as well as several other goods, including tonight's first brew: And it has a pretty good wintery taste It tastes like beer It smells good Lancaster Winter Warmer, just because I heard good things on the boards.
  5. My theory, once you go Victory, you're stuck there for the rest of the night. So my finisher for last night was trusty old goodness Storm King by Victory. My liver is getting primed and ready for the weekend This may be my favorite stout now. My best attempt at the "Confused Derek" look Because good beers are sometimes hard to find
  6. mmmm, threading vertical loop goodness...... MUST GET TO CHINA! <----pulls out his atlas Well, maybe some day. Until then, I shall dream of that vertical loop.
  7. Yup! Originally we were heading down for the official opening of Everest, but once I found out that was the start of Spring Break and airfare alone was more outrageous than usual, I changed it. While we'll be missing Knoebels opening day, we should have a great time! Hopefully it won't be too crowded on the 29th and 30th. If you're interested, let me know, I'll add you to our Japan dinner on the 29th!
  8. Why does the President have to come on EVERY stinkin' channel to deliver his random lame "life is gonna get better" (even though its not) speech? If networks can fight over who gets to broadcast the Superbowl, Olympic games, Academy Awards, etc, why is the POTUSA so mighty that he gets every channel! And why does Fox News feel the need to cover it when Fox is covering it?? Looks like I'll be popping in a TPR DVD within the hour!
  9. Excellent PTR as usual, Erik. Glad to see you managed to get all 4 parks done in 2 days, as thats exactly what I have to do at the end of April with a friend who hasn't been to WDW since 1991. I think the single rider line on Everest will help out severely if the line is as long then as it is now. I seriously doubt that though. I volunteer you to come along to take pictures and make the PTR, since I'm too lazy lately to do anything but beer PTRs. Maybe we'll even let you have dinner with us on Saturday night.
  10. After a less than hoptastic IPA, I had no other choice but to fall back on something I know won't disappoint, the old Hop Devil! Welcome to Hop Heaven, courtesy of the Devil There's my baby
  11. "Take Me Back"- Story of the Year
  12. Since their Lager was pretty tasty, I decided I'm starting off the night with a Brooklyn Brand East India Pale Ale. Just an "eh" kind of IPA. "If I add a Floyd or 2, maybe I'll end up with something hoppier!" Happy to be home and beer in hand "Thank you for calling Dell Tech Support, my name is Jason, how may I help you?" says the East Indian Ale
  13. ^^I'll have to talk to the rest of the Team about a good weekend to do it, but I'm thinking either March 4 or March 11. The 18th is out because St Patty's is the day prior, and after that the parks start opening around here (at least in Virginia anyway). Its rough right now, but I'd say the 3rd, with the 10th being the backup day just in case it snows or something. We'll probably hit both Troegs and ABC, maybe even dinner someplace. I'll give more information in about a week or so for anyone who needs lots of time to plan ahead.
  14. Thats kind of a bummer that its closing. It seemed to be unique and based on a not so popular movie. Oh well, at least we know whatever they replace it with, it'll be lightyears better than the same "attraction" at DLR.
  15. I'm not watching the videos or reading too into the trip reports that give a detailed ride thru experience, mainly because 1. I DO want to have some surprise value when I finally ride this in April and 2. I AM riding this in April, trip is booked. If it was something I was on the fence about riding this year and I saw there were videos, I'd watch just to see if I should make it a point to try and get there this year. I did that last year with Powder Keg. Didn't follow construction, didn't pay attention at the EastCoaster speech about it, didn't know anything about it. But thanks to Robb's video and Elissa's review, I decided it was worth a visit. I'll do the same thing with Black Mamba when it opens. I haven't seen pictures of it since the lift hill, and I won't until I get there in September. The most I know about Everest is the train shoots steam, it goes up a lifthill, there's some sort of backwards section somewhere in there, and there's at least 1 yeti dude at some point looking pretty P.O.ed. The only upcoming 2006 coasters that I will actually watch the videos before I ride them will be Tatsu and Goliath at La Ronde, because I don't anticipate going to these parks this year unless the rides are incredible. Same goes with Patriot, but I am almost certain THAT won't be incredible, seeing how similar it is to my little Talon friend down the street.
  16. I came home from work today to find my grandmother had painted my living room for me while I was out. To reward her, I felt it only appropriate to give her some liquor. She prefers wine, so I pulled out something or other that I had. Nothing better after a hectic Monday than chewing on some beer! I stuck with the Alpha King Pale Ale Grandma says "will work for booze!" Some sort of wine, it was on sale, some friends and family drink it
  17. Well if it didn't take SOME people 4 months to buy a house, we could have gone to Troeg's several times already! I think I'll have to go up there in early March, before the coaster season starts up again. Maybe we can do an unofficial TPR Beer Thread meet.
  18. Wow, talk about ripping apart a ride. Those pictures are pretty awesome! My unborn children rejoice, knowing they will never experience the headbashing that this ride delivered.
  19. Wow, not only are they getting some new coasters, but they're not just run of the mill clones. Looks like a TPR trip is in order to China, I think 2012 is clear for that so far. I sure hope they have McDonald's there, because I'm allergic to cat.
  20. Started off the day by going out to a bistro with mom for lunch. Turns out it was a good idea, because the place I went had a great selection of beers! I'll be heading back here for happy hours in a few weeks, thats for certain! Surprisingly it was pretty good, with a little bit more hops than most lagers. Good stuff! I got home and decided to try another Brooklyn Brew, this time the Lager There's only 3 things that put a smile like this on my face; sex, coasters, and beer. This time its the beer! Rogue's Dead Guy Ale, probably the best beer I had all weekend
  21. Someday I'll visit Troeg's Brewery, and I'm sure Tom will be extremely interested in going to ABC just for the Abbey room! Nothing to drink yet today, but last night I went out for a friend's birthday to some club and had a few Labatt's Blue, Screamin' Nazis, Captain Morgans, and Brain Hemorrhages. No pictures, 'cept for a crappy camera phone picture of the birthday girl getting assaulted by the good captain. Poor Gail turns 25, gets poked by the Captain's sword, and then has to drink a whole shaker of Brain Hemorrhage by herself
  22. "I'm Alive"- Disturbed
  23. Looks like I'll have to put Oklahoma City on my farewatcher for this summer. And to think, I kept putting it off until Nightmare was finally reopened!
  24. "Power Trippin'"- Monster Magnet
  25. Wow, how lame! Seeing how its Florida, he doesn't really have a good selection of beers to choose from either! He should be tried as an adult, then when he's someone's b*tch in the slammer, maybe they'll be nice and sneak him some in.
