Yeah, as of 6:30pm EST today, none of the SF park's websites park policies page mentions anything about no re-entry. In fact, all of them state what its always been, handstamps, season pass not transferrable, no coolers allowed in park, etc. Appears Motley Fool may have been the fool, thus making Six Flags the fool with their article, and as a result, all is well again. At least this means I can still leave SFOG to get chinese food with my Q-bot buddy

EVIL TOWER UR DOOM is gone!!!
DerekRx replied to Vince's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If that message isn't there the next time I visit Disney MGM Studios, I'm going to boycott the park and only ride Bad Tower out in California. ....crap, that boycott stinks for me. OK, if they don't have that message, I'll be really sad, but will pretend it still exists. ....much better! -
I don't know what's coming next, but when I was there last, I know Elissa and I were talking about how Beetlejuice has been there since like opening, and yet I've never seen it. If they need room for anything, they'll probably use that area. Although, I'd rather they take out Twister, PLEASE!!! But if they do, they better make sure they leave Bill Paxton in whatever Preshow there is for the next ride. There sure are a lot of unused areas of the park though, like the lake and the old Hard Rock building, still sitting there rotting away...

Photo TR: Johnson's Weekend Getaway
DerekRx replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Looks like you had a nice weekend. Thanks for reminding me that SeaWorld was getting another coaster, I almost forgot! BTW, I know who was yelling "vertical loop" *wink wink* (Yes, Julie, Barry is creepy, but not just lately) -
They probably named it Stealth because at the beginning of the name selection, they included Humdinger as a joke. Of course, we all voted for it, and more than likely Humdinger was the name with the most votes. So instead, they go with Stealth, which I don't even think was an option in the voting!? I'm still baffled by what exactly is Stealthy about a 205 foot tall phallic symbol.....

Happy Birthday, dude! Spend your day playing Taiko Drum Game Space Invaders, and then be sure to book a trip to Australia to ride the most amazing, unbelievable, most unimaginably awesome launched coaster in the whole universe! Expect Starship to show up tonight to sing "We Built This City" just for you.

The slow Death of A Classic Park
DerekRx replied to gravitywolf216's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it was a really strange idea for CF to buy the park in the first place. Granted, they'll continue to "improve" the park by adding bathrooms, trash cans, more painfully bright white concrete, and getting rid of any and all of those blasted trees! Strange though because people don't get drawn back to a place by the "new for 2006 bathroom". Its the new roller coaster or super-sick looking flatride that brings them back year after year. CF doesn't want to add new rides to the park because then they'll be competing with themselves. Just like how they don't want to add a new coaster next year because it will cut into Cedar Point's profits and may take away from its new coaster (yeah right!). What CF needs to realize is that CP is a resort, people come back year after year just because. They haven't gotten a new coaster since 2003, yet they still get people thru the gates yearly. I have a feeling they'll probably add like 1 more coaster, then when the park still doesn't bring in the expected numbers, they'll end up turning the park into a shopping mall and shipping all the rides to other CF parks. -

Darn, that was almost too smooth....didn't last long at all. Up next a tried and true favorite. This one's for you, Ryan! Taunt them with the HopDevil, possibly Victory's best brew
-
Before people stop by to intervene.... And he likes it! Not as good as HopBack, but still really good stuff He takes a sip... Starting off the night with a Troeg's Pale Ale
-
I don't need an intervention, and if you even get near me, the batarang will come out and you'll end up with a nice bruise on your noggin'. The only thing I need is another beer! I'm watching you

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
DerekRx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Of course there would be. Do you honestly think ACErs would come out if there was JUST Raven, Legend, Voyage, AND the darkride? They may, but the park certainly won't be considered for a Golden Ticket if they didn't feed the people. -
NEWS: Kobe Portopialand to close
DerekRx replied to pianojohn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, this is certainly a bummer. From what video and pictures I've seen, this looks to be a really cute park with some great classic coasters and other rides. Hopefully the coasters will be saved and relocated. -
Steel Poll Results are in
DerekRx replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, gotta love Mitch's solution to the coaster tools who try to make a statement (I believe that statement is "I'm an idiot, obviously I have no idea how to be fair about something, and as a result I will have my opinion taken away from me. Ding, fries are done!") Mitch puts a lot of time and effort into his poll and the results show. While I can't imagine that some of the far away B&M coasters are the best thing since sliced bread, I can pretty much count on them being better than the newer B&Ms. Its not like other polls where you see Beast and Magnum ranked at #1, and then you ride them and are just baffled as to how they got those rankings for like 15 years in a row. Best of all, it doesn't matter if you've been on 5 coasters or 500, your opinion counts equally....unless you're a toolshed. -
Last night it was back to the Works for some drinking and crime fighting and we started "turning Japanese" The Cramps then got some food and beer And the batarang money clip was used to thwart any other attacts on my beverages Using his ninja training, the Blind Faith was saved So Batman sprung into action....but only after Starship "Built This City" was over Turns out Magic Hat Blind Faith was beernapped by the dreaded Double D's Then we got a couple phone calls from Commissioner Gordon on the Beerphone Dave and Roni went with Yuengling Lager I started off the night with a Hop Devil

I've been so busy lately, I forgot to drink! Well, now most of my season planning is finished, so as my alcohol:blood level began to switch around, I decided to throw some good stuff back into my liver. (Take THAT you evil organ!) I submit that it CANNOT!! Troeg's HopBack Amber Ale in a Troeg's HopBack Amber Ale glass. Can life get any better?

My angry letter to Universal Orlando
DerekRx replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^A little better. At least now it doesn't seem like you expect a parade in your honor on your next trip. The "mean person" op will probably be scolded, and then on your next visit, he'll say to you "if I could turn back time, if I could find a way, I'd take back those words that hurt you, and you'd stay." And in the future, all minimum wage earning kids will be forced to be extremely happy, figuring out how they cannot possibly offend anyone to receive there $5.15 an hour to put up with tourists, or just act like mindless drones ala Six Flags. Or the kid will be found and relocated to another attraction, like the Grinch. Heck, if the kid comes on here, maybe he'll be able to get a job with Absolutely Reliable, he may have potential! -
My angry letter to Universal Orlando
DerekRx replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Want some cheese with that whine? Maybe he was in character, Zed isn't the nicest guy in the movies, nor is agent K. I would have retaliated with Erik's comment, instead of trying to get something free out of Universal when it obviously didn't hurt your feelings enough for you as to talk to a supervisor or at least find out what the guys name was.
