  1. So today my girlfriend was acting crazy, so I had to break up with her. Thankfully I still have my beer! Derek MUCH happier! Remembers very little about girlfriend (or much else for that matter) Derek drinks beer.... Derek with beer in hand = happier Luckily, the Troeg brothers brewed up something for me, a Pale Ale This is a sad Derek look after he has to break up with his girlfriend because she's mad because he had fun without her, even though he invited her to the festivities. "What will I do without her!?"
  2. "I Love You (Prelude to a Tragedy)"- HIM
  3. Sorry dude, the ball doesn't have to stop over the line at the end of the play, it has to break the plane of the end zone during the play. Big Ben clearly broke the plane before he was hit. I don't think the ref was that blind as to the final shots of him ending up just behind the line and then picking up the ball and moving it there. It was a great game, the Seahawks surprised me for a good portion of the game, and it was actually exciting, unlike previous years where you just watch for the commercials. Congrats to Bill Cowher, Big Ben, Mr. MVP Ward, the Bus, and the rest of the Steelers team for doing a great job (despite very boring rally songs in the 'burgh)
  4. Took it easy tonight, as the Yocco's today for lunch and all those meat products from last night have left my gut with lots of gas. But since I DO enjoy torturing people, I had a Pennsylvania product while watching the Steelers win one for the thumb. Here we go. Even though I feel like I gained 30lbs this weekend, 1 more won't hurt me. I think it actually helped! Went with Lancaster's Amish Four Grain Pale Ale, served in Pittsburgh's finest brew works glass
  5. My favorites were the MacGyver MasterCard commercial and the AB Fridge, though the stadium pouring the beer was pretty funny too
  6. Here's what I can remember drinking last night at the party. And finished off the night with some Troegenator Double Bock Ted brought a Penn Brewing Oktoberfest, which was enjoyable Can't go wrong with a Dogfish Head Then I had a Flying Dog Pale Ale I started off with Great Lakes Eliot Ness Amber Lager. It wasn't too bad
  7. After a few drinks, its time to start singing! A great party usually ends with the great host passing out. Even our version of Drowning Pool's "Bodies" couldn't wake Tom. It was a GREAT party! "WHOA!" "Baby Got Back!" of course Leann looks normal enough, but what is Adam singing in the back? See what I mean? If Tom drinks too much, he'll sing some sick stuff My ears! Must drink more beer! Yup, its gotta be Rich! If Disco Inferno is being played, there can only be one person singing... Just chillin, listening to some tunes Walt sang country; no one knew any of the songs he was singing Ellen was showing her love for Jersey by singing some Bon Jovi Dave went grunge Domo Arrigato, Mr Melago "Sister Christian" is always the starting song, followed by Derek and Adam's rendition of "America" by Neil Diamond
  8. The real party begins on Saturday around 6pm. Don't dare Walt and I to drop our pants, because we will! And the Joisey reps even came out Even Walt was there! You know you're important if Walt comes! And there were plenty of other spirits too! Troeg's Troegenator Double Bock and Sam Adams were on tap for the evening Yeah, its so big it carries over to the back! And it's pretty sick! Tom's Bar even has a beer menu Even the cake was themed, congradulating someone on their 500th ride on the big boy horse Theme park inspired food was hauled in, and there was plenty of it at first! Even Bret shows up for some fun on Saturday
  9. Most people head to the Allentown area around this time of year to attend the ACE event, Eastcoaster. Some of us are way too bored with that event, so we stay at Tom's house, but we invite our friends over to hang out afterwards for a great time. The party has grown in the past 6 years, now including kareoke, air hockey, a full bar, and buzz time trivia. The night finishes off with some drunken airhockey Adam tries Weyerbacher's Decadence, and doesn't care for it TPR was representin', so there wasn't much activity in the beer thread Ellen loves her Purple Haze more than her new house Janna enjoys a Dogfish Head Borg is about to assimilate with his beer After driving from Pittsborg, Tim enjoys a Sam Adams, on tap. The party starts off Friday night when the diehards show up The fridge is full of over 79 varieties of beer Tom says "there's still a little room. Bring more beer!"
  10. For your enjoyment, here's some pictures of me being bored at work yesterday, anxiously awaiting Beer Fun Time. And Gail stopped by for lunch, which made the day go a little quicker Is it time to drink yet? Me and my "office", the chemo pharmacy
  11. Last night started the Northampton Beer Festival kickoff. Full weekend details will be up probably tomorrow night. But since this is the beer thread, I figured I'll post at least my beers from last evening. And the night was finished off with a Smuttynose IPA Signature move! Back at the house, I tried a new brew, the Dogfish Head Burton Baton, an imperial IPA aged in whiskey barrels. Obligatory photo of Ellen being bad It was then off to Bethlehem Brew Works for some food and an ESB As of 8pm, we had 79 different varieties of beer Next up was some Hop Devil, on tap of course Yeah, it was pretty darn good, with a nice alcohol finish Started out with the Stone IPA Tom enjoyed so much earlier in this thread
  12. ^That sounds reasonable, as I don't think SFKK is in the market for another shuttle or SFAWs Viper. Though with both Beech Bend AND Holiday World getting major new coasters this year, I'd think it'd be a dumb idea for SF to sit back and do nothing, so who knows!
  13. I am officially frightened! Plop down a nice Intamin hyper called "The Constitution" and I'll think about visiting, otherwise I'll be cowering in the corner
  14. "Volcano"- Jimmy Buffett Just preparing for the weekend
  15. ^We expect a PTR, as I'm sure there will be PLENTY of them from the Eastcoast contributors of this thread from how we spend our weekend. There should be around 5 or more beers aged in whiskey barrels that we have the opportunity to try, along with several dozen other beer types Worst case scenario, "Hangover" won't just be a Vekoma previously at Liseberg.
  16. Finished off the night with the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale that I've heard good things about on here. I was going to go with another Belgian, but after last night's weird dreams, I decided against it. Derek likey. Thanks PhishyRuggedOne! WOW, what a nice taste and a surprisingly hoppy aftertaste Drink up boy, it'll put meat on your bones WHOA, sure smells good! The bottle sure is short and fat, kinda like Danny Devito!
  17. A good deal of rides from Blackpool are/may be on their way out sooner than later. Included in that are the Turtle, Whip, Vikingar, Log Flume, and even possibly Noah's Ark. I hate to see classic rides depart, but Blackpool definitely knows how to build a great new ride, just look at Valhalla!
  18. Done, but good luck categorizing everything
  19. Its always confused me, if you can see your shadow, that means the sun is out, meaning its NOT snowing etc. Shouldn't that mean its gonna be nice?? Oh well, 6 more weeks of the winter PA's had so far I can handle, as its in the 50s right now and I don't think I've seen a measurable amount of snow yet this year.
  20. "Absolute"- Thousand Foot Krutch
  21. I decided to leave the beer credit whoring for another time. One ok beer at a time like this is not what I need. Going for what I know is good, the next beer is a Troeg's HopBack Amber Ale. "You may drink the beer!" Awwww yeah! Giggity Giggity! "I now pronounce you 'My next beer'" "Let me unite this happy couple into one wonderful entity" "I've got a beer, and and an empty glass with the beer's name on it. I think they belong together!"
  22. I like beer! But I won't be attending Eastcoaster (even though I'll be 5 minutes away!) Of course, if you end up where I'll be on Friday night, you may not make it to Eastcoaster either! Beer Fun Time is less than 24 hours away!
  23. In an evergoing quest to train my liver for the Northampton Beer Festival this weekend, I decided to start tonight off with something I don't think I had before, Lancaster's Strawberry Wheat Beer. It had a hint of strawberry, and since it is a wheat, it didn't have much of an aftertaste. Its more of a dessert beer if you don't have any lambics laying around the house. And after 1 sip, its doesn't have much of an aftertaste that I like so much. It don't be smelling like no strawberries! "I'm a beer, and I also fulfill your daily need for fruit"
  24. I figured a good ending to the night would be a nice Belgian. Since my Begian stash isn't that spectacular, I went with one of the only ones I've got, the Golden Monkey by Victory. I's gonna be sleeping good tonight! Oooooh, look at that pretty goblet its to be served in
  25. Nemesis is all about its surroundings. If you put old Neme in a Six Flags parking lot, it wouldn't be nearly as good as it is. But sticking an inverted coaster in a hole with a unique layout, theme, and intensity, and you've got one of the main reasons I'm returning to England this summer.
