  1. At the Atlanta Airport, N'atman wanted to drink since he missed out on both other opportunities. Well, sadly by the time we got seated at Chili's, they were out of draft Sam Adams. We had to settle for other stuff. And I had a Blue Pacific Margarita (I wish we would have went to 5 Seasons again, or tried Max Lagers) Tim had a Heine (bet he really wishes he went with to 5 Seasons)
  2. On Saturday we headed from SFOG to Lake Winnie and back. In return transit Greg "Glutenfree" Legowski and myself decided to get a good dinner (and beer) and so we decided to try 5 Seasons. It was easy to get to and the food was great. The owner came out to talk to us and he really knew his stuff. Definitely worth the trip the next time you find yourself in Atlanta. Its about 30 minutes from the park, just off I-285. And I kicked back dinner with the Sledgehammer, a West Coast inspired IPA For dinner I had salmon in a coconut curry sauce. Even better than the Cedar Plank Salmon! Either this is from the World's Smallest Lime Tree or I've really grown! My appetizer was a spicy lobster cake over a corn salsa. Delish! I refill my beer reserves with Seven Sisters Munchner, their signature beer Even Glutenfree can enjoy a brew, in the form of cider Wait a minute, I only know of 4 Seasons, and Georgia only has like 3 seasons; cool, hot, and hotter Any place that has a giant turtle and beer has got to be awesome
  3. Lots of catching up to do! On Friday I flew to Atlanta, and I made good time down to the Philly airport, so I decided to get some sushi for dinner, and kick back a Sam Adams with it. Afterwards, I had more time to kill, so I decided to go in search of new headphones for my mp3 player, and in midst of the adventure I encountered a Brew Pub in the airport. Excellent! Though I decided to try the Lancaster FranklinFest lager. Good stuff, especially for an airport where crappy bottled beers dominates. They don't brew their own, but they've got micros; including the Sly Fox Rt. 113 IPA Sweet! Independence Brew Pub in the airport! I believe I'll have a Boston Lager with my Boston Roll
  4. I think El Toro was built early because they had that space free where Viper once stood and they wanted to fill it in. They probably got a deal from Intamin, but I think its more adding flow back to that section of the park, much like how Superman was placed in the Boardwalk area to rejuvinate crowd influx into that dying section of the park. I think the next coaster should go in the dead Lakeside/Dream Street area of the park.
  5. Awesome pictures, Soren. Glad you enjoyed your brief visit to the park. I've never even done the entire park, just the stuff you covered. If you'll be working next Saturday, let me know, I'll be down at Disney again next weekend and will stop by to say hi!
  6. ^I love how the guy next to you is looking at you like "WTF?" I get that a lot while out taking self portraits for this thread.
  7. "Beg"- Evan's Blue
  8. ^^Mulch is expensive! Maybe they'll just go with white paint, apparently they're already testing it in Scream!'s helix. I don't think they'll be building a parking structure there, EVER.
  9. The only thing you can run into in early May is really crappy cold rainy weather and school trips. Usually the schools leave by 6pm though and the place is dead. The weather, not so much. I've had a couple "fun" experiences in cold crappy monsoon rains at Cedar Point in May over the years.
  10. I think Storm Runner is a fun ride, but I don't think its amazing, as its just too short for me to consider. I will ride it when I go to Hershey though, because unlike Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster, I know it will run consistantly and an approximate 40 minute wait will actually be a 40 minute wait, give or take 5-10 minutes.
  11. I can't really say its a good park or a bad park, as my only visit there they decided to close the park early due to lack of crowds. Sounds like Knotts!
  12. Yeah, WTF is up with their song choices, Bocelli?!?! What's next, Bjork's native tongue? Kenyan tribal chants? Yodeling (that one I'd actually watch especially if Heidi Klum was the guest artist)?? How the heck Kellie keeps making it thru unscathed is beyond me. Didn't we already have a blonde country bumpkin win last season? We need to tell the stupid horny teenage boys (and old men like Jeff) to stop voting for her! We certainly know its not her own kind voting for her, they're probably just as "edumacated" and are baffled by the invention known as the telephone, and think sending a text message is writing on the binding of a book and mailing it. If Kellie ends up winning, I've lost all respect for the show for the rest of its existence.
  13. So sorry to hear that, Dave. Any animal that you like has got to be pretty awesome. She's probably rocking out with my old Doberman, Getty Lee, up in Doggie Heaven. (I think you know where my dad got the name from)
  14. Tonight I decided it was time to try a beer I've heard a lot about, the Magic Hat Circus Boy Hefeweizen. BLECHT! More like HefeWorsten! Thanks for the memories, Heath! Smells kinda funny...like feet You gonna tell some jokes, Circus Boy?
  15. "Through the Iris"- 10 Years
  16. It really doesn't look much different from a regular Afterburner, except maybe it goes a little higher. 5 person seating, that's just odd. I can't see too many parks in the US interested in this, though fairs probably would pick it up. Throw one of them on top of the Stratosphere!
  17. ^Just the random stuff that pops up on Ebay from time to time. Some parks also have online stores to sell some of their merchandise. I know the Cedar Fair parks do.
  18. Looks great, I'm sure rides on this will be better than the Beast. Of course, I've had better nightrides in my car during rush hour traffic in the winter when it gets dark at 4:30 than I've had on the Beast. Its great that Holiday World keeps taking things to the next level, and that the Gravity Group is insane enough to design this! I'm glad its complete. Now maybe Great Adventure can call the Gravity Group and get the workers to head over there and help finish El Toro!
  19. "She Drives Me Crazy"- Fine Young Cannibals
  20. ^Well said! September 2005-April 2006 is totally 2 years; my how mathmatics sure must be slipping in New York Oh, and I hate how Lost is only like a new episode for 2 or 3 weeks straight, then will be repeats for another 2 weeks. If you aren't going to make a television season a season, then don't start the season so early!!!
  21. "Starless"- Crossfade
  22. ^LOL, that last picture explains a LOT! I bet if you could take pictures in the winter time, you'd see the construction workers building snowmen, making snow angels, sledding, and having snowball fights. Guess he just couldn't pass up the nice sunshine.
  23. "Overrated"- 3 Days Grace
  24. If Astroworld was always the Red Headed Step Child of the Six Flags chain, Wyandot Lake is the denied child that even after 4 paternity tests on Maury, Six Flags still refused to claim. Its no real shocker that they dumped this park. At least I don't feel this park is threatened at closing just yet, so I can put off a trip there for a bit longer. Poor WL, maybe now you'll be loved.
  25. Kings Dominion is a good park for quantity of coasters, whereas Busch Gardens is a good park for quality of coasters. You can easily spend more time at Kings Dominion, but I'm not sure if that's because there is more overall to do there ride-wise, or because you'll be waiting in line longer to ride everything. Busch is nice for a more relaxed vacation trip, plenty of great coasters that you can reride over and over again, excellent food, good shows, nice scenery, shade, and overall theming. Kings Dominion has lots of cool coasters, most of them used to be fun, now just a few of them are top-notch, which even the GP knows and therefore the lines for them are always long (though that may also be because those cutting edge rides also have poor capacity). I'd go with BGE, but I like the person who said once you go to BGE, PKD is a second rate park!
