  1. Finally, on Monday I'm starting off with some Hop Pocket. The easiest way to amend Mondays is with alcohol Da Pils!
  2. I was planning on going to Big River Brewing Company at Disney's Boardwalk Resort after Illuminations, but they have some weird seating policy. High table with high chairs in the bar area usually means to me bar. Apparently things are different here. I didn't feel like being outside, nor waiting 30 minutes, so we skipped it. (its ok, I had sake with dinner) Sunday while stuck at the airport for an extra 3.5 hours, Greg and I decided to kick back at the Fox Sports Club. and had I known that the flight would be an additional 1.5 hours more than the 2 it was already delayed, I would have had another tall as well as this small Sam. But I didn't want to be the drunk guy on the next episode of "Airline" I started out with a tall Sam Adams
  3. On Saturday I did some Disney parks, and the crowds and lack of good beer had me in a less than charming mood. All that would change though once I visited Soren and Stefan for some good brews in Germany! And no trip to Germany would be complete without Soren I'm quite happy with my Spaten Optimator Dude, bier! I don't know much German, but I do know what bier is!
  4. ^ Now you are perfect! Starting out the weekend's beer recap, we find me once again at the Philadelphia Airport on Friday night. Then I tried the Yard's Philly Pale Ale, which started out weird, but I think I was hopped out from the 113. By the end it was pretty tasty. Started out with the Sly Fox Rt 113 IPA, on tap. Quite good! Another 2 hours early for my flight, guess I'll have to drink!
  5. I can't see the pictures on mobileTPR, but I'm kinda worried when I get home. It was great hanging out with you and Leann, Erik. Today we had a good day at Magic Kingdom, rode everything we wanted to before leaving for Magical Express back to the airport. Its true though that the magic is over once you leave Disney. As of 12:50 my flight on Southwest to Philly was on time, or so the text we received from them said. At 1:50 it was suddenly delayed by 2 hours. (but they still tell you to get there at the regularly scheduled departure time, just in case). Well, now its 5:30, my flight is now 2.5 hours late, was supposed to leave 40 minutes ago, they're still telling us to be at the gate just in case. :rolls eyes: I could have spent that extra time at Disney instead of at a gate with nothing to do. In short, Disney is wonderful, Southwest is a joke and may possibly be sponsoring Rock'n' Roller Coaster, explaining its flup ups yesterday. I'm done with Southwest, I'll fork out the extra $40 for a reserved seat and a plane that isn't already delayed 4 hours before its departure. I'll be sure to post my photos from the weekend on in this thread either tomorrow, Tuesday, Friday, or October, whenever Southwest finally gets me home.
  6. A few more big E-tickets at WDStudios is definitely a step in the right direction. Its making me think about coming back out. Hopefully they don't neglect the other park though.
  7. ^No, I rode it way back in 1999 when you didn't need a kid in order to ride, you just had to wait 45 minutes. If my coworker was going to Universal on her trip, I'm sure she'd let you borrow the 4 year old. Heck, maybe she wouldn't even want her back! Sadly, its Disney only this trip for her.
  8. Park opening and park closing are 2 different things. At park closing, they are trying to CLOSE THE PARK. Therefore, you trying to get a credit in a line that could very well be 20-45 minutes will prevent the minimum wage earning ops from leaving on time to go runamuck back at their dorm. If you get there at opening however, they've got plenty of time to kill while waiting for their shifts to end, and with the line being very short, they're more inclined to let you goofballs get your experience. At least you can make them happy at the beginning of the day by making them think how funny you guys look, all excited to ride a 20 second, 2 person suspended gravity powered monorail.
  9. I haven't met a flatride yet that makes me sick, though the floorless Huss topspins really hurt the boys, even more so than the Chance Inverter. There's just something about not being able to brace your lower torso that leads to lots of flopping around.
  10. Looks like you guys had a good time despite not getting to ride Tatsu. (BTW, its pronounced like 'Taught Sue' ) I'm shocked at the old school Batman dude, as well as Carlos, El Lanterno Verde!
  11. BURP! err BUMP Just rockin it
  12. "I Write Sins Not Tragedies"- Panic! At the Disco
  13. A few wild family coasters I can think of are Raven, Cornball Express, and High Speed Thrill coaster. Nothing mild about those rides, even though that's how they were all designed.
  14. Wow, that drawing is lightyears better than anything I've ever doodled while bored in a class. Though that's probably because they used crayon and I'm usually stuck with only 1 type of pen. Though that one time at Confisco's I doodled a nice Captain America Intamin Hypercoaster into Marvel Superhero Island on the table parchment with the crayons provided. Sadly, I guess it wasn't good enough to interest the higher ups at the park, as I've yet to see my dream become a reality.
  15. Sweet! I'm definitely going to have to do this when I'm back in Pigeon Forge next year. These things always looked like fun, can't wait to try it out.
  16. Dude, a beer named Terrapin, that's awesome! I'm all out of fancy stuff for a few weeks, but its always nice to go back to an old favorite: Just what the doctor ordered! Oh how I've missed your hoppy taste! The Devil!
  17. Nice report. I'm anxious to see how Patriot compares to Silver Bullet and Talon in terms of forcelessness. Maybe if no one is up for the task I'll look into cheap flights out there in a few months. Loud patriotic music, thats worth bringing my mp3 player into the park! Thanks for the info.
  18. Woohoo! Tom posted more pictures. Anyone want to wager if he'll have more done before I get back from Disney on Sunday night?
  19. I love how SORENsen was the chef at Mythos. See, all it takes is a friend working there to get the good stuff back. Now gimme the lobster and corn bisque and mozz and tomato salad and everything is better! I'm slightly disturbed by the similar shirts Soren. Is that a German thing? I HATE the idea of biometrics and paper passes. Can someone please explain to me how a picture of me isn't good enough to show its me. It works for my passport and drivers license, but apparently not for theme park admission anymore. For $200-300 you think you'd actually have something sturdy with a purdy picture of yourself getting your wallet raped as its happening. Looks like you had fun, glad Soren finally got there!
  20. Wow, the details people look for in the Alvey household are slightly disturbing. Methinks you guys need to make sure your doors and windows are locked at night (and in the daytime too!) So, when does ParkTrips Cam happen?
  21. "Something Beautiful"- Cauterize
  22. Nice report, Julie. Brings back so many fun memories of the weekend, as brief as it was for me. I'm heading down again this weekend and I doubt I'll have as much fun as I did with the TPR group. BTW, where the heck is the rest of Tom's photos?!
  23. Awww, it looks so cute, and I love the Schwarzkopfy dive pretzel loop thingy around the entrance escalator. 50 minute waits already?! Wow, am I glad I have an awesome tour arranger who managed to get us ERT on this I owe her a McDonalds Hamburger or Carrabba's pizza or something!
  24. Maybe TPR can plan a trip to that park along with the one in Egypt. Add in Old Indiana and we can call it "Theme Park Review's Crap Park Tour"
  25. Another reason for the decline in Gwazi and Ghostrider is because of the temperatures they face year round. The wood goes thru a lot of changes very fast; hot and dry, hot and humid, wet. Plus both of these coasters use a LOT of wood, making it hard to repair/replace a few pieces to make the overall ride smoother again fast.
