  1. ^^^^^ Why are you opposed to making a good ride even better?
  2. Thanks Joey, I can sense the excitement in your selfie, and it doesn't even look like they fed you. I'm really looking forward to the ride's completion.
  3. At one time last week I had 7 types of cheese in my fridge: Aged Provolone White American Cheddar Pecorino Romano Fresh Mozzarella Packed Mozzarella Ricotta The mozzarella and ricotta are now gone. I'll finish the provolone today and the White American is about to go moldy, so I might need to make a cheese quesadilla tonight.
  4. Swinging Pirate rides, Rock and Roll (similar to Knoebel's Looper not a Music Express) and Big Wheels are popular rides in Japan, but if you look you can find practically every classic flat.
  5. Dave - thanks for posting, I was wondering what happened on CFs pick. Thanks Jarvis, I moved Dave's post into he but of course discussions of the additions to Carowinds and Worlds of Fun can also be discussed those threads. I can't wait to see what comes back from Japan.
  6. Sorry to ruin your detective work but that is a metal hammer with a wood handle, the hammer is a hybrid. A mallet is a wooden hammer. Please send all your chips my way, thank you.
  7. I guess my none of my names were chosen. I don't remember the specific names I suggested, but all my suggestions mentioned Surf, Runner, Dune, Rider or Waves.
  8. Very interesting, I really enjoyed the quirkiness of Skyline Park on my visit, but it's nice to see them getting a brand new attraction.
  9. YOU ALL NEED TO KNOCK IT OFF IN THIS THREAD. THE MODERATORS HAVE BEEN WATCHING THIS THREAD, AND I WILL REMIND YOU EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINIONS. If you want to disagree with Phantom Poster posts that is fine, but disagree with the opinion not the person. When someone states something will or will not happen, take it with a grain of salt if there is no back-up to the claim. Most of the time these posts are opinion. Otherwise, if is poster has proof of something, he may not be at liberty to share. Whether someone's thoughts are based on observations of a park's environment or industry trends, they are opinions. Whether someone makes a succinct post without details or a verbose one with back-up it is still an opinion. There is a difference between saying "Park A is not going to get Ride B" and "I know for a fact that Park A is not going to get Ride B because...". Let's not attack someone personally, rather keep the comments limited to the writer's opinion. Most of us don't know each other outside the forums, and let's not speculate on motives and intent. Over time, we are learn who are trolls, posers or credible sources of information. In the interim, keep the conversations going.
  10. And here is where I disagree the attendance is indicative of profit because I believe many of the season pass holders who frequent the park most often do not spend money in the park. I know families who will spend more in one day at a park than I will spend in 20 visits. Just look at how many times in this thread that frequent season pass holders tell people interested in SFGAdv to leave the park for lunch and eat at Wawa
  11. The pricing structure of their season passes is a huge problem. Also prices are roughly the same as 20 years ago (cheaper due to inflation) there are nowhere close to making up for it with their parking fee increases. Attendance is not indicative of profit when a park is so reliant on season passes. Was the drop in attendance chain wide? The biggest problem was the unmanagable debt load with insane interest rates which siphoned so much of the revenue that profits could not be achieved.
  12. That is terrible rationale. Promoting a new ride that you know isn't going to be running is always, always a bad idea. Six Flags does it because they're are notoriously cheap. How is it being cheap? It very well could cost them the same amount to build either way. It might even cost them more to wait longer depending on the demands of the contractors. My assumption is that they pick up cheap employment from laborers laid off when winter arrives. That would explain the late starts in a lot of northern markets. OK, I understand your point now. But since the construction is contracted out work with a bid process, the contractors are the ones that would be saving money if they hire cheap labor.
  13. I'm not sure of the size of the one installed late this year. The newsletter I gt yesterday promoted Endeavor as sixty feet high with this link to Luna Park website http://lunaparknyc.com/attractions/endeavor-2/

  15. Social media has changed the world
  16. Speak for yourself I'm speaking in terms of size/cost/timeframe. I agree it would be a big plus for the park
  17. The only new addition to Luna Park this year will be the opening of Endeavor. BTW - If you are planning to visit this summer and purchase multiple wristbands for Luna Park, the park stills has a two for one online offer through February 5th.
  18. And the park is more concerned about their regular customers (the locals) than someone just passing through.
  19. They are not going to move a floorless and then turn Green Lantern into a floorless. That would be a waste of money.. Keeping Bizarro and shipping off Green Lantern moves more sense but I don't see that happening either as long as Green Lantern gathers a line on busy days. I think it is only a matter of time before the simulator building becomes the site of Justice League
  20. The hammer can be used as a nutcracker. They are adding a Nutcracker Show to the Christmas event.
  21. There used to be a limit of 20 photos per post, but now You may post as many photos as you want, but that does not mean you have to post every photo you have. It does get boring looking at the same ride/coaster/building from every possible angle.
  22. Is that a assumption, a joke, or are you actually being serious? I'm being 100% serious Nobody had said anything about the ride being rethemed because The Jolly Green Giant and Grimace broke into the park, shat on the track and changed the colors either.
  23. I have my Six Flags Pass with Parking and Meals Every 3-4 years I buy the Cedar Fair Platinum Pass, so I might buy one this year and splurge on my travels. I
  24. Can't believe Mack is still not using steering bogies on this one! Also is it just me or this turn looks like a wave turn that gives sideway airtime? Imaging the feeling of sideways airtime alone is awesome! One hopes that it will be 69.69% as good as the horseshoe turn on Dragon's Fury at Chessington. Yes, Guy I chose that percent just for you.
