No worries Larry, I think what he meant by there being 2 Coke Freestyles, is that there are two machines in the same building. Only one location next to the main fountain. OK thanks, like I said I never used the Freestyle Machine at SFGAdv since I kept forgetting my cup this year, I only used the refill cup at other SF parks.

Do you mean the photo that directly follows this comment? -
Why are Premier and RMC the only likely candidates? Looking at the manufacturers over the last couple of years that SF has contracted, they are the two that pop out. SF hasn't gone with B&M in 4 years, likely because a new B&M of decent size pushed $20M. Intamin has largely been non-existent in the US the last couple of years as far as large-scale coasters go. SF has shown no interest in GG, Gerstauler or Mack, and it's been years since SF has dealt with GCI. S&S HAS been contracted by SF in recent years, but that is what GAdv is getting this year with the Joker. So, that basically leaves Premier and RMC. They have been the preferred coaster sources for SF the last few years because of the bang for the buck they provide. A steel RMC will likely push the budget, which is why I feel if GAdv is to get it, there is a good chance they would get the Raptor design. Considering it'd be the prototype, and SF's noteworthy relationship with RMC, I could see them debuting it at a discounted rate (at least for the prototype). Of course, anything is possible...but Premier and RMC are the most likely candidates IMO. I'm apt to agree that RMC might be the front runner, but I wouldn't count out B&M, Intamin, Mack, Gertslauer or Chance at this point.

A better question might be, did Klotten ever finish that mountain / castle / whatever they were building around Heiße Fahrt? They finished the water ride. Baby Steps, Baby Steps -

I did not know of your forbidden Himalaya love. -
It has nothing to do with stubbornness, it is to protect them legally. If they were to change back to a more open restraint and there was an accident, the park is going to look a lot worse in the eyes of a jury and judge. The judge and jury and not going to care about what Cedar Point or any other park are doing, it will be about SFNE.

Excellent point, and to add to this everything a park does has to stay in budget and that's why parks have five year and ten year plans, so they can capitalize on cost efficiencies when they occur. What harm was there in keeping he station standing in an area where less than 5% of the park's guests would walk past it on any given day. I'm unclear how the gravel points directly to a new coaster in 2017. Why should the park spend the extra money to sod the area with grass if the area will continue to not be seen by most guests. Or possibly the gravel is being used now because a new coaster is coming in the future, but not necessarily 2017. The park doesn't need a coaster right now, but Justice League (in the simulator building) will be a big help if HITP continues

Really? Which ones? Of all the B&Ms I've been on in the last few years, the only one that really took me by surprise as being somewhat forceful was Banshee. And while that ride was REALLY good, it still was not as forceful as coasters B&M have done from 1992 - 2002. True but we're not comparing to 1992-2002 - and going back to the full quote, they (B&M) only design what the park wants. That doesn't mean they are incapable of making "OMG FORCES11!!1" coasters. True, but we're not comparing if they are incapable of making OMG FORCES. Now, I realize why why so many people were perturbed with your attitude in the SDC thread.

I only posted the quote because people ragged on me for disliking Great Nor'easter. I can't recall if you were on the those people. I really want to see the GCI one day, even if it takes 5 more years. -
New Wanda Parks in China.
larrygator replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just watched a documentary yesterday about this. China has this odd problem of overbuilding, since most of it's government officials think it helps the economy. In reality, when housing goes up like this, it tends to become abandoned. It's crazy. There are cities like this scattered around the country. Check it out below. At about 4:14, they're trying to turn one such abandoned city into a tourist attraction, with some rides. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] At 4:14, that is Amazing World at the South China Mall. TPR did stop there in 2012. I think I may have even shopped in the now closed toy store that was featured. Back then there were only about 10 shops that seemed to be open in the mall, very creepy. -

Many of us have known this for over 24 hours and have been discussing it in the Carowinds and Worlds of Fun discussion threads. Some of these rides are no longer manufactured and if they are, the older rides were built better. It is also a good idea to revisit and read the article about the intent of this project to fully understand what is happening. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1616425#p1616425
