  1. The deal was finalized, but specifics have not been announced
  2. My political correct response: That is certainly an interesting way of thinking. My unabashed response: Wow, that's illogical.
  3. ^Nothing is more annoying, but a close second to me is the EuroMir song. I am now hiding as some of you throw tomatoes.
  4. ^Good find, but I'm a little confused. The article references the rides being free but at the end of the article it states that 50% of tickets sales will be donated. I don't know when Deno's usually puts their cars back on the Wonder Wheel, but it seems like a big undertaking to add them but on this early unless they are planning to keep them on through the rest of the "winter".
  5. Joe, I knew there would be a wait but not nearly as bad as I encountered. My plan was to get there at 9AM for an 11AM opening. But of course, this was the last day of the trip and I was dead tired. I got to Franklin's at 10:05AM and the line was down the block and slightly around a corner. I'm thinking maybe a two hour wait, just enough time to make my 4PM flight out of Dallas About 10:15 a woman starts walking through the line talking to groups of 10 people at a time. She says she will take our orders shortly and informs us of what is expected to be sold out when we get to the window. She also informs me and the people around me that it will only be a 4 hour wait to get our food at this point. I chose not to miss my flight
  6. I always look forward to your visits to "real" amusement parks.
  7. I agree they need more food places open or at least more workers at the places that are open. Normally on the way out of the park around 6 - 6:30 I stop and get dinner and then a snack to take home because of the dining pass. Yesterday it looked like it was going to be at least an hour wait for dinner with only 1 or 2 lines open at the places I walked past. The snack lines were bad too and it looked like many of the places had run out of snacks like the popcorn bags so I didn't bother with either (lunch was ok with only 1 person ahead of me at the Garden State Grill). The park (or corporate) took a big chance on starting this event. There were a lot of unknowns, particularly the weather. It they had known how mild it would be I'm sure they would have proactively hired more employees. It's not easy to hire once all the retailers start hiring for the holiday season. The park was most likely not willing to increase their risk by hiring to many employees and staffing too many food locations Although all of this year's numbers point to the event being a success. However, it is still unknown what would have happened with harsher weather
  8. Unique and scary.
  9. The Frisbee at SFFT almost did me in. A long night of Shiner Bock followed by and early morning ride on the Frisbee, I felt like I was going to lose it but composed myself by the end of the ride only to see someone across from me getting sick as the ride was stopping. Not sure how I didn't get sick at that point, watching/smelling someone else puking usually pushes me over the edge.

  11. The intrigue makes this such an interesting off-season thread.
  12. I concur. If there was no Nemesis, most locals would hold Nemesis Inferno in higher regard.
  13. That's what happens when you copy from China

  16. The park recently sent the following press release regarding recent 2016 ride announcement and the vitality of the park. New ride in 2016 will ensure further growth for Djurs Sommerland Investments of more than EUR 40 million in new themed rides have recently boosted the number of visitors to Djurs Sommerland. After attracting a record 801,000 visitors in 2015, the park is on track to experience further growth in 2016 when a new pirate ride costing EUR 2.7 million is introduced to the park. In 2016, there will once again be new and exciting experiences for all the family at Djurs Sommerland, with visitors being invited on a pirate raid on this year’s new ride, Søulken – an investment of EUR 2.7 million in total. On Søulken, visitors will have to hold on tight to the rail as the boats are tossed around on the merciless Caribbean waves, all while canon fire resounds in the ears of the fierce pirates and brave sailors. “We’ve been looking for a new family ride that offers a unique experience. In Søulken, we’ve found a ride that is sure to be among visitor favourites if its popularity in theme parks abroad is anything to go by. This new attraction is a fun ‘thrilling ride’ for older children, but also for children as young as 5–6 years old and of course their parents. We expect it to be a hit among families with children,” says Henrik B. Nielsen, CEO of Djurs Sommerland. Kian Kronvang, chairman of Danish roller coaster enthusiasts’ club CoasterClub Denmark, is enthusiastic about the new ride at Djurs Sommerland, and he says that this ride is among the best in which a theme park can invest. Kian Kronvang also claims that part of what makes this ride so popular is that each time you go on it, it is an exciting and varied experience with a lot of fun and unexpected motions. It also holds a lot of appeal for families with children, with even the most discerning of daredevils being able to look forward to a good experience. Henrik B. Nielsen continues: “As well as Søulken, we’re also going to invest a million in new service and eating facilities to ensure we’re ready to welcome even more visitors.” Extensive pirate theme Søulken will be located in Piratland next to Denmark’s biggest roller coaster, Piraten, which in itself makes it an experience to try Søulken. The new attraction will also be uniquely and comprehensively themed, having been specially designed by Dutch company Jora Entertainment. The same specialists were also involved in developing the new Bondegårdsland among other attractions. “There are a lot of exciting pirate aspects to Søulken, and the ride itself is pirate-themed with a big globe, canons and pirate ships that emphasise the story of the pirates’ raids on the seven seas. We really prioritise the staging of the rides in our eight themed areas, as this adds another dimension to the visitor experience,” says Henrik B. Nielsen. A theme park undergoing rapid development Since 2008, Scandinavia’s biggest summerland has invested in new themed rides, including Denmark’s biggest roller coasters. In the last eight years, the park has introduced 25 new rides to families for an investment of more than EUR 40 million. In the same period, 5,200,000 visitors in total have visited the park, and the annual number of visitors has increased from 528,000 visitors in 2008 to a record 801,000 visitors in 2015. Looking forward, it isn’t only in 2016 that there will be exciting reasons to visit Djurs Sommerland. There are also long-term plans for both new rides and a resort. Djurs Sommerland and families with children visiting the park undoubtedly have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Djurs Sommerland will open again on 30 April 2016.
  17. I love when these topics get revived. I think about how I want to respond, then I go back and check if I had responded in the past. My opinion remains unchanged Screaming Squirrel
  18. I loved riding the custom Maurer Sohne spinners
  19. Sorry, didn't mean to ruin your fun, but if it means anything, I also like your title better.
  20. Not me, absolutely no interest in visiting
  21. Good to see Joker moving along, so many new rides/coasters for me to ride in California since my last trip
  22. Many times when I visit the park I see a lot of teens with season passes who probably hit the park up quite a few times during the summer since the family invested in the passes and it is much easy drive to drop off the kids for the babysitting services
  23. Which was announced first? HP opening coasters or SFGAdv announcing their ride lineup
