  1. If you have an issue with a specific park contact them. There are different levels of perceived infractions and each operator is likely to have their own approach (or may not even have a formalized strategy). We don't need to speculate about the practices of other parks in this area.
  2. Clearly you are not completely in tune with how things are done in New Jersey. Fires do not happen until construction is finished to maximize insurance payouts. Now just get in line with the rest of the credit whores for the 2019 opening.
  3. What Alpine Coasters have a 200 ft drop?
  4. Thank you for those that have helped out over the last 4-5 weeks, as many new rides opened, hopefully many of you get to ride and can submit photos for those about to open. If anyone has an opportunity to review their home park in the Park Index and provide feedback (about missing or closed rides) we can keep The Park Index as accurate as possible, I can't do it all myself. Please submit only your own photos. Do not take them from another person or website. You can post your photos of any size in this thread or in your Trip Reports Or you can use the submission tool in the Park Index, but in that case please resize your photos to 800x600 or smaller before submitting, otherwise they are difficult for me to review and place in the Park Index. Or if you have any of those photos already in an existing Photo TR just send me a PM and let me know. 5. Cedar Point next year. But I'm actually going on a bit of a road trip to the Canadian east coast, so La Ronde is just one of the days we're in Montreal. Sounds good! Montreal is awesome. Unless you're a credit whore I'd really just ride the Batman clone, Goliath, Dragon, the new flat ride and leave. Your time is much better spent checking out the city. There are quite a few good flats that run good cycles.
  6. Kajuna - I just found your original post and approved it, sorry for the delay.
  7. Sometimes the moderators send notifications, but in the past we have had people "complain" that they get constant notifications. So I usually approve without sending a notification. I do not see a post of yours in the queue to be approved. Do you remember what thread you posted in and the nature of the post. We sometimes delete posts that look like spam or are written in a way to redirect away from TPR. i.e.: Hey that's great, but go here and look at this video.
  8. Exactly what I was getting at. Two parks that appear to put much more effort/money into maintaining those flumes.
  9. I've read this question several times and still have no idea what you're trying to say. I'm sure that if you wrote in his native language, he would not understand you either. Love his location "not the US!" I may have the opportunity at some point in the next two years to visit the park. Is it worth going to just for the hyper, especially if I have never done one before? He is from Italy if you must know.
  10. The Great Escape caters to a completely different audience/community than the typical Six Flags park. That's why: It has never been branded Six Flags They built a very successful Lodge (12 years ago, but never carried that over to other SF parks) They brought back some old themeing after initially removing some it in favor of Six Flags Intellectual Properties
  11. I've read this question several times and still have no idea what you're trying to say. I'm sure that if you wrote in his native language, he would not understand you either.
  12. Instead of answering your question (since I don't work in park management), ask yourself, how many 50 year old log flumes are there?
  13. A very myopic view. There is more charm in the entrance plaza at Great Escape than the totality of Michigan's Adventure.
  14. YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN THE CEDAR POINT DISCUSSION THREAD!!!!! If you wish to talk discuss Holiday World go here: Holiday World Discussion Thread If you wish to discuss Six Flags Great Adventure go here: Six Flags Great Adventure Discussion Thread Thank you!
  15. Since I rarely watch POVs and when I do watch them it is not repeatedly. Practically all elements of every coaster that can not be seen from the park surprise me and I rarely know the order that elements are coming.
  16. They're almost identical to the Free Spin restraints, and are very comfortable. I don't doubt that but do the bars need to jut out that much? If it greatly reduces any chances of headbanging, why not?
  17. And in related news for coaster whores (but unrelated to Ocean City), it appears that Fantasy Island Amusement Park on Ling Beach Island has removed their powered coaster and replaced it with a SBF Figure Eight spinner
  18. Hydrus is a nice addition for such a small footprint. The lift hill was real slow and everyone I rode with felt a little light headed going down the drop. I loved the pace of the zero-g roll (or whatever it is called) I do question the actions of the ride operators. The first time I boarded in the second row and after they locked the restraints they had to release the restraints saying there was a problem. They made all of us get off and board the other car, sending the first car out with no problem. It was apparent that one guest in the front row was super sized. We all board the next car and the same thing happens. The ride operator tells us all to go down to the photo booth and wait for him to come down and refund the ride (put points back on the Fun Card that everyone has to use). As we get to the photo booth they send out the next car (the original one we got out of) with 8 people. Now it is apparent to me that there is nothing wrong with the car or restraints and the ride ops just didn't want to tell the woman of size that she was too big to ride. So I get back in line and when I get to the station the ride op just nods at me and lets me through the turnstile without saying anything. Now I get that they might not have wanted to shame someone, but it could have been done tactfully, without inconveniencing everyone else, especially since two of the four ride ops were very large people also.
  19. Source? - The link that was posted is PR for the Chinese properties. That should be clear if you read it. To be clear, my response was about other Six Flags. Specially, those that currently exist in North America. I see no need to speculate on other sites, I have no idea if Garfield really is a well known IP in China (or any place else for that matter)
  20. I think I'm going to drive down and check out changes to the pier and ride Hydrus today.
  21. Its awesome search function. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1249621 What he said!
  22. Based on your actions/travel over the past few years you are going to visit someday. You seem to be the type that wants to experience all the coasters and judge for yourself. For that reason only you should visit now before a major incident shuts the place down. Just make sure to ride Hellcat at Timber Falls, also. Damn, that used to be my 2nd favorite woodie, but I haven't been there in almost ten years, nor do I even want to revisit Wisconsin Dells.
  23. Thank you! Just not everyone is into trip reports, I guess Your trip reports are appreciated.
  24. It all depends on the pace that you and your party are going to take in the rides. If you are a marathon rider and/or plan to stay all day the Pay One Price wristband is worth it when available. If you are going to move at a leisurely pace (or for limited hours), the tickets could be a better deal.
