  1. Shawn - thanks but I'm going to hold out for a better picture of the ride. It's a swinging banana, how could no one from TPR have a picture of a swinging banana. To all you perverts that are snickering right now, I'm talking about ride.
  2. Mine arrived correctly and in excellent condition. I think wrapping a hoodie around with the discs was an excellent way to protect the discs during transit. Just another reason to purchase a hooide.
  3. ^Is not having $500,000, a good enough reason for not making the payment? Maybe they can relocate the former SFNO "on the moon."

  6. Being that I waited 3 hours to ride Space Mountain when it opened in 1975, I get the "Starport Seven Five" reference.
  7. Thanks - For the flume - I know there is a sign right outside the entrance directing people to either the Stonewash or Whitewash side.
  8. We have pictures of those rapids, we need to signs.
  9. As promised a recap of photos that we would like to add to the Park Index if anyone has them. So as you sort through all those photos you saved during the off-season keep the following in mind. If you have a photo of a ride at a Park already in the index, but that ride is not in the Park Index, feel free to submit that also. Whether it is an old Eli Scrambler and new Huss attraction we would like to have it in TPRs Park Index. We can't add all photos, especially for parks that are very popular, but all submissions will be viewed. In many instances photo submissions for popular rides are very similar to photos already in the park index, so try to make sure your submission is unique or new. The photos and PTRs we link into the Park Index generally abide by the following guidelines. Remember we can't always link every Photo TR as we highlight the best, so we have to be selective. 1 - Photos should be downloaded onto the Theme Park Review server (not Imageshack, photobucket) that way we know a Red X will never appear. 2 - Photos should not exceed 800x600 3 - PTRs should contain a variety of pictures of the park, including multiple rides and areas. (Not just one or two rides/attractions). 4 - Entertaining captions always help if it is a popular park with a lot of PTRs. 5 - High quality photos (not blurry, distorted or out of focus). 6 - Lastly, we are not adding kiddie rides at this time So here is what we need: Need picture of the sign for the following rides Adventure Island – Barnstormer, Mighty Mini Mega, Rage, Green Scream Adventure World (AUS) - 14. Little history blurb may be accounted for in the next version of the Park Index, which is in development. Separating coasters/rides into existing/defunct is a software development issue and up to the Big Guy. At present we can label a ride/coaster as defunct on the back end and if you click on that ride link from the park index it will tell you the "ride/coaster is defunct" above the pictures. Robb has supplied me with a couple of minions, but there is a lot going on. He may be on the lookout for more minions n the future.
  15. Kid's rides - No! Family Rides - Yes! Unfortunately, we have to draw the line somewhere and not completely overload the overlord. Along the same lines, not many FECs/Kiddie Parks are added. Smaller parks get added if they have enough rides for adults also like Kiddieland. Or these types of parks will be added if Robb and Elissa visit them. We'll add defunct attractions if they are unique. Remember we are not trying to chronicalize the parks' history in the ride listing, but instead give people an understand of what they can expect at the park. We leave defunct coasters in the park index, because everyone loves coasters. We try to leave the legacy stuff in the nostaglia thread and it can also "live" in older PTRs.
  16. ^If people want to scan park maps (that we don't already have) and submit them as 800x600 I'll post them. Problem is that not all park maps look that great at 800x600.
  17. ^Die ^^Die ^^^ and Well you're almost there You've had your fun and proved that I can't proofread which is why I'm in charge of pictures, now can I delete your posts. and I don't have time for this foolishness, I'm trying to watch a movie on SyFy!
  18. Excellent question! I personally view every PTR that is posted on the site. As the Obsessive Overlord of the Park Index, that's what I do. I guess I could put that in the "nerdiest coaster thing I have ever done thread." For PTRs, I will select what myself or other moderators deem the best to be linked to the Park Index. It's all subjective, sometimes we pick one with great photos, sometimes we select one that is well written and tell an entertaining story. We can not link every PTR. I will only link PTRs if the photos are downloaded onto TPR, if your photos are hosted on imageshack, smugmug or somewhere else we run the risk as have a bunch of Red X in the future. Of course when there are fewer PTRs posted, the quality of those linked may not be of as high a quality. Hence why my PTR of Wild Waves is linked, we only have one other PTR from that park. When it comes to ride photos, if I see an adult flat ride that is not in the Park Index in someone PTRs, I will create that ride name in our database and link the picture. We don't care if it is a Scrambler or a S&S Space Shot, if it is an adult flat ride we want it in the Park Index. Again this is a lot easier for me to do if the photos are loaded on to the TPR server, versus imageshack, smugmug, etc...
  19. What ever happened to the update?! As a Moderator here let me take the time to state the following. For the youngsters and socially awkward, let me take this time to remind or educate everyone that the tone of this is post is rude and not what TPR is about. A response such as: "Did you get a chance to visit the construction site and take pictures?" would be much more appropriate and civil. dubaidave is a great contributor to the site and educates us about many Middle Eastern parks and projects. Many times he has to invest his free time after a busy workday to visit some of these parks/projects. Let's not take for granted that his "being in the area" means he is right at the construction site. "In the area" might mean many miles away. There tend to be a lot of silly arguments in the off-season so everyone remember to keep it civil and be respectful or others. thanks
  20. ^thanks Chuck. In the next couple of days, I'm going to post an updated list of pictures still needed for parks already in the index. The TPR community has done a great job supplying photos to the Park Index over the past 12 months. However, with the recent site hack, I visited each Park Page and developed a new list of needs. We now have over 25,000 photos in the index. This covers over 6,600 rides at nearly 500 parks. Improvements continue daily, as practically all of Shane's Amusement Attic submissions are now more easily viewed in the "nostalgia" section within each park's page within Park Index. Thanks to everyone who helped and I hope you all continue find the Park Index useful.
  21. Because popular eateries with long lines can do what they want. Not that I agree. The infamous Soup Man (Nazi) would send you to the back of the line (or give you a ban) for taking to much time to order. I also know of an Italian restaurant in New York that will not serve their meatballs without sauce.
  22. Damn - I never stopped at Primanti because I had heard they refuse to make the sandwiches without slaw. Maybe I'll stop in the future.
  23. I bought it for a friend, I'll ask him tonight when I see him.
  24. Except for the fries, everything looks great.
