  1. Did you read the post above yours?
  2. I would have complaints with a GCI at Knoebels, especially if it is similar to Knight Valley. Does anyone anyone know if Knoebels actually owns all that land where the chairlift runs.
  3. I have never seen any of the unique and delicious food items I mentioned at another amusement park. Cedar Point has fried cheese on a stick. It's very tasty! I agree that the other food items are pretty much impossible to find at any other park. Never seen it a CP. Is Cedar Point's fried cheese in a cornbread batter?
  4. Just curious what other amusement park you have seen them at, so I can be on the lookout on future visits.

  6. I don't know if the City Museum in St. Louis is as much fun if you end up traveling solo. But at that point in the trip you might need a park free day. Here is what I would recommend. Similar to a previous suggestion. Day 1: Drive from Jackson, MS to Bowling Green. (Leave early enough in the morning do Beech Bend at night) Day 2: Be at Holiday World at opening Day 3: Kentucky Kingdom Day 4: Be at Kings Island at opening (with Fast Lane) leave park before close starting driving, you don't want to do the whole drive to Cedar Point the next morning Day 5: Be at Cedar Point at opening (with Fast Lane) drive at least half the distance to Indiana Beach this night Day 6: No need to rush to be at Indiana Beach at opening. Start drive to St Louis at night (this will be your toughest driving day) Day 7: City Museum (optional if you are traveling alone) Day 8: At opening SFStL, leave before close to drive towards Branson Day 9: At opening Silver Dollar City Day 10: Drive back to Jackson, MS. I would visit Beech Bend and Kentucky Kingdom over Magic Springs since Kentucky Rumbler is far better than anything at Magic Springs and Lightning Run has lots of potential.
  7. You'll need Fast Lane to guarantee finishing Cedar Point in one day. Probably the same for Kings Island. At the very least, Fast Lane will help you enjoy your day at the park in a less stressful way. When Diamondback opened lines were insane just for that ride, would expect the same for Banshee this year. Unless you know the park will be empty, whenever your time is more valuable than your money, get the Fast Lane.
  8. Not that I know of, but I seem to discover new food all the time. Although it would be a good addition, I'm quite happy with the: Freshly made French Toast for Breakfast Fried Pierogies Fried Cheese on a Stick Corn Nuggets Frozen Sweet Tea Bison Burgers
  9. ^Because the Big Dipper wasn't that good to begin with and it wouldn't add anything to the park. Greezed Lightning seems like it would be a maintenance drain/money pit. How many parks are supposedly going to resurrect these Schwarzkopf shuttles before one actually happens in the US. There has to be a good reason why it hasn't happened yet.
  10. The Knoebel's family is too smart to attempt either.
  11. They did do a great job with the SFNE location by Goliath. Of course, people will still complain about prices, but it's a great environment to eat and relax.
  12. I pretty sure is just meaning to say he can't wait to be able to go to the event next year to announce the new ride since this year he couldn't. I do not believe he was trying to hint at anything big. You guys just got iRat I agree with this assessment, I see no clues or hints.

  14. Many people would say there is not a demand for a park like Knoebels and it's "old" rides.
  15. September 14th
  16. I like this idea. Would love to see an old time ice cream parlor but not sure what they can/will do based on existing relationships with ice cream vendors.
  17. Looks like they are taking out that huge saloon/restaurant/theatre? that was also part of the Western area for this project.
  18. ^^AJ - some of the info you need may already be on the Tivoli website. Regarding the chain restaurants. If I recall currently Wagamama and Hard Rock are not inside the park but along the periphery accessible to both patrons of the parks and those in the neighborhood. Chain restaurants are not inside the park. Not sure if the following is entirely true, but I felt like the food stands and kiosks were amusement park concessions while the finer sit down restaurants, further from the rides area, were run by families and independent of the amusement park.
  19. ^^Yes Chuck, I'm snickering. That certainly doesn't look like a NY Pizza and I'm sure it doesn't taste as good.
  20. I would also like to ride something not rushed to completion. I would just prefer that work start on time and continue.
  21. The food options were great. I'm not talking about the typical amusement park fast food stands and kiosks. If you wander from the rides area there are sit down restaurants that offer fresh seafood and higher quality food. The clientele and rides ops were friendly. I really liked the variety of rides. Dark rides, coasters, intense flat rides, fun house, good bumper cars. It was just a very happy place to be.
  22. Remember to have some Euros, most of Wiener Prater (at least 4 years ago) was small independent operators that don't take credit. The food and beer in the parks, also run by independent operators, is cheap and tasty. I went back to the same stand twice for schneitzel.
  23. Greezed Lightning is no longer parts of the plan houston.culturemap.com/news/city-life/01-17-14-the-new-astroworld-is-not-bringing-back-greased-lightnin-after-all-legendary-roller-coasters-too-pricey/ The new AstroWorld is not bringing back Greased Lightnin' after all: Legendary roller coaster's too pricey By Tyler Rudick Officials at the hotly-anticipated Grand Texas Theme Park have some good news and some bad news . . . The original AstroWorld roller coaster Greezed Lightnin' currently featured on Grand Texas maps will not be reborn at the new park after all. But in its place, the new park's owners promise an even more exciting ride sure to spark up nostalgia for Houston's long-lost Six Flags. First opened in 1978, the fast-paced Greezed Lightnin' graced the hallowed grounds of AstroWorld for nearly three decades. One of only a dozen so-called "shuttle loop" coasters ever built, the ride captured the imagination of thrill-seekers with its surprising simplicity — a short 850-foot track with a single eight-story loop. Shuttles cars blasted passengers across the iron tracks at 60 miles an hour, first forward and then backward, for a experience lasting a mere 33 seconds. "We know this decision will initially disappoint many fans of the ride as it did our team." After the AstroWorld's demise in 2005, Greezed Lightnin' was relocated to Joyland Park in Lubbock and later to Cliff's Amusement Park in New Mexico. But to the chagrin of roller coaster aficionados, neither park ever reassembled the vintage ride. Grand Texas developer Monty Galland tells CultureMap that he and his team truly hoped to do right by the 36-year-old coaster, carving out a dedicated space for it on the western edge of the new theme park that's scheduled to open in New Caney in 2015. Unfortunately, due to installation costs and a careful consideration of ride variety, officials are looking to an alternate coaster-like ride that offers more than a trip down memory lane. "We know this decision will initially disappoint many fans of the ride as it did our team," he emailed CultureMap, "but we believe guests will find the new ride quite a bit more thrilling." Aside from calling it a "taller, faster but similar ride," Galland remains tight-lipped about the Greezed Lightnin’ replacement. He does add, however, that the new installation will honor both the classic coaster and the AstroWorld experience in a number of ways.
  24. I love adding PTRs like this to the Park Index. Thanks for sharing
