  1. ^Thanks Divv, I have watched a few (not many) of the Ponderosa clips at cbs.com in the past, but didn't realize that talking strategy was frowned upon, I figured they just edited it out during the season to keep up suspense.
  2. Agreed, this thread is AWESOME, but hurts my heads since there is so much expansion going on in China. My feeble mind can't follow everything.
  3. I used to keep an two Excel spreadsheets (one for Steel, one for Wood) listing the following info: Steel Coaster Name, Park, Manufacturuer, Last Date/Month Ridden, Type of coaster (I had about fifteen columns with categories like Invert, Suspended, Flying, Family Coaster, Mouse, Kiddie Coaster, Powered, I would put an x in any box that was relevant. So, a Family Invert would have an x in both the Family and Invert columns. This way I could easily sort to see easily determine the number of B&Ms, or number of inverts, or number of powered coasters, what ever I needed Wood Coaster Name, Park, Coaster Company, Ride Designer, then I added a column where I could asterick the side friction coasters to track how many of them I rode.
  4. I bought $5 in clams after I foolishly spent the ones I started with.
  5. ^So right, you never know the criteria each jury member will use. Trish has no chance in hell, Woo is at least a likeable personality. True if the jury views Tony as the new Russell Hantz he is in trouble. After the season ends, I would love to see a show of conversations/outtakes from the Ponderosa. I assume the jury members talk about their frustrations while on the ranch helping to drive sentiment for and against the remaining players.
  6. Based on the info you have provided and without going into a ton of detail. One day you should head the Kingda Ka, preferably on a day when you see it testing before you enter the park. If you get on Kingda Ka early then backtrack to the other side of the park for Batman: The Ride and Nitro. These are the two rides that will not have insane lines if you get to them within an hour after park opening. Another day you should head to Green Lantern and Superman:Ultimate Flight. Right across from each other. The other day head straight to El Toro, this is the day I suggest deviating from the strategy you outlined and ride it as many times as you can the first 90 minutes in the park before the lines grow beyond a station wait. Then you can head to Bizarro which is closest to El Toro
  7. I do not think such a place exists in Manhattan. If you expand your search to Staten Island I can vouch for the Hampton Inn and the Hilton Garden Inn. Both have free parking, in a safe neighborhood and I think they have free shuttle buses to the Staten Island Ferry, but not sure how frequently they run and I think you have to reserve the return trip to the hotel (but it's free)
  8. A few construction pictures that I took today. The supports are going up for the loop de loop. The crane in the middle was moving track pieces into place (I couldn't stay long to wait for the money shot). The heavy machine on the far left was moving support pieces. The guy sitting on the orange track is doing nothing. Workers were temporarily taking down the construction wall on the boardwalk as I was passing and got this exclusive photo. That's right it is exclusive, try to find it anywhere else. However, I would have suggested taking down the wall before the cement was fresh laid.
  9. Normally I would agree, but they turned a pile of dirt into Luna Park in 31 days.
  10. Our team of Westerners got Robb when they awarded Mr. Mole Challenge to a bunch of 7 year old Chinese kids. We destroyed them. I wish we knew what we were doing while playing Soul Hunter because I liked the concept. That sprint across the park to the SkyLoop damn near killed all of us.
  11. From this afternoon. Unable to stand on "The Bench" and stick my camera over the fence due to this vertical construction. The park must read this site, because they took my advice installing track on the other side of the lift hill. The power of TPR. One more angle
  12. New Jersey counts as a major area of the country now? Talking coaster wise, as the original poster is. YES!
  13. I feel like it's exactly in line with what the park wants... which is to make money. Everything they said about speeding up the loading process is just their PR spin on it because they can't just come out and say "we found another way to make more money off of our guests" (even though they're a business and there's really nothing wrong with that). The park only gets a very small percentage of the storage money, the vendor keeps practically all the money.
  14. Complaining about spending a few dollars is absurd.
  15. The Happy Valley parks do know how to theme a mine train.
  16. It is an average wooden coaster. It is NOWHERE near the quality or stature of the coaster covered in the show.
  17. Based on us having stickers, I'm assuming that this is where we combined forces to defeat the evil Chinese teams in the Fire Brigade battle.
  18. Seriously!!!! Not going to happen.
  19. Just be happy there is a new show with coasters on TV and that they consult Robb on covering a variety of coasters around the world. If far as being annoyed by someone making an ignorant or erroneous comment on TV. Turn the volume off when they interview someone. Welcome to the 21th Century and you certainly can't escape these types of comments on the internet either. People who are not emotional are considered boring by today's standards!
  20. That's impressive!!! I did that with the Simpsons. (Have over $54mil) Yet, in this game, I'm still behind EVERY time I get a new task to build/unlock something, i never have enough money. I've already pretty much given up on the skin for Peter, unles they extend the deadline by a week. I actually hope they stick to their guns and end it on Sunday. It would create more of a desire to work harder for the bonus stuff, unlike the Simpsons, where almost every bonus or theme gets extended, so you almost feel stupid trying so hard in the first place. I pretty much have to spend the whole stash and more to open up the last area, rebuild the police station, build the library, fire dept and hospital in order to unlock the next two characters Brian and Dr. Hartman. Creating Hobo Peter seemed pretty unreasonable so i never even considered buying the premium items, but at least they gave you clams for splatting ten clowns. Getting some of these extra items is damn near impossible. To get Rambo Lois' headband, I've had her practice Tai-Jitsu at least 2 dozen times and only got 2 of the 5 head bands she needs. FYI - When you clear the pirates they give you 10 more clams also. And I've turned the whole bottom left quadrant of my town into Cedar Point by paving the whole thing, but i didn't splurge for trash cans.
  21. With sometimes meant. "Larry go run in that direction for 10 minutes as far as you can and report back when you find the coaster." Ah good times!
  22. ^I would have no problem with a simple coaster like that or a coaster with the forces of Verbolten or Cheetah Hunt.
  23. They are very productive workers, I now have a stash of almost 40,000 coins
