  1. I did curling today in Phys. Ed. It was really fun, but I don't consider it to be very sporting. It's more of a leisure activity.
  2. Maverick for sure. It also helps to be able to get front row on it 5 times during the Morning ERT (Platinum pass)
  3. Colossus. Yeah it is pretty over-rated. Now Nemesis Inferno is worth going to TP for.
  4. This was in the comments on the New York New York POV video.
  5. Wall-E wins in my opinion, hands down. I'm gonna say it, it touched me emotionally. It's one of those movies where you honestly love the characters, there aren't any voices in Wall-e or Eve, so you have to be able to understand what they mean through sound and movement. It's the best animated movie ever, without a doubt, I just think that other movies stole its thunder. Also, every Newspaper review I've read has said 5 stars for WALL-E, Kung-fu panda got 2-3 stars most of the time.
  6. Dino, all over the city you can get imitation ones called Mini Melts (Indoor Soccer Center or Southland Leisure Center to name some). They are just as good, if not better. My very first Dippin' Dots was at Big Sky waterpark in Whitefish, Montana. I got chocolate then, and since then, haven't changed my preference since.
  7. Thats almost exactly my problem, except for the fact that it is that our ISP gave us a piece of crap modem/router, and they don't work.
  8. Ok, I know this isn't part of the whole credit whoring/complaining discussion, but I'm just going to say, I saw the POV on the website, and to be completely honest, it looks amazing. It was the longest ride I've ever watched (pov) or ridden on, it keeps its pace the whole way through, and looks just great.
  9. Wow, that makes the Calgary Stampede look like the Tea Party of Travelling Carnivals. I'm almost ashamed lol
  10. i have heard so many people talking about that too...I really hate it when they ask "when is the rain stopping?" Do they ask "when is it stopping", or "when is this rain going to stop!" (imagine it in frustrationn) Two fully different things here. Calaway Park Waiting in line for Vortex (formerly Corkscrew) Woman: Does this go upside down? You walk under BOTH corkscrews to get to the entrance of the line and they are pretty damn visible.
  11. 1. Raptor 2. Nemesis Inferno 3. N/A 4. N/A 5. N/A
  12. Those pictures of the focused leaves with structures (and the statue) unfocused are so cool.
  13. I remember you, when I was there in May you were one of the ride ops I had. You were doing the facts spiel. I love the pic where the train is in contrast but nothing else it. Do you ever get tired of "Ready to go" While standing in the station?
  14. I counted 5 duckies. And, I don't think anyone has posted this, but in Big Mike's previous trip report, John looks like Alfred from MAD Magazine when he's in the little helicopter.
  15. Maximum RPM gets my vote, simply because of the lift.
  16. Thats one of the best TR's I've seen since I signed up. Great job. I noticed that picture you took of the midway near the Old fashion Burger place (where you pointed out the movie screen, and corkscrew was on the right). I noticed it, because I took almost the exact same picture (a bit more zoomed in on mine) when I was there, how weird This is the Picture I took, when I saw your picture, I was so surprised *Reduced quality from resizer
  17. I'm at 76 right now, my 75th being Raptor (CP). John I think you should either go with V2 or with Medusa
  18. I know that in Family Guy, Peter takes Stewie to Disneyworld, and in the Simpsons (does this count?) they go to that Itchy and Scratchy place. In real shows, the only one I can think of is a show I saw one time, where people would try to conquer their fears of things like height by riding and learning about roller coasters.
  19. My favourite (if it counts as a tunnel) is from Superman Escape at Movie World Australia. It is pretty much a dark ride, and the soundtrack really sets the atmosphere for the real coaster part after.
  20. When I was younger and we were at California Adventure, there were no lines at all(after september 11th), we sat on Grizzly River Rapids for 3 hours straight.
  21. I'm sure some parks will be routinely checking drop tower cables each day. I see how its kind of hard to check 1000+ feet of cable each day, but it could save a person's limb or life if this ever happens again. Or they could just install those pressure sensors on older drop towers, because they seem to work
  22. When I was at Cedar Point waiting for TTD to open, some kid was like, "Maverick is faster than this, even though this is taller". Somebody asked him how he figured that out. "This one has the sit down restraints, but Maverick's go over your head, so its obviously faster" Maybe it's because of the lack of inversions on TTD that might allow it to have lapbars? (Not saying that lapbarred coasters can't have inversions, its just that Maverick wouldn't)
  23. To be honest, a flood themed roller coaster and a heaven and hell themed coaster would be pretty awesome. I think that because it is so unique, so odd for a theme park, that it will work
  24. ^^ I found that too. I'm Canadian and words like favourite and colour are sometimes spelt differently. I was like, that seems odd, must be a "language gap"
  25. Every time I look at it, it seems like Superman Escape (movie world Australia) in the way they built it. I'm thinking that the beginning will be a dark ride or "fly-through" of all the surrounding aquariums, followed by the real coaster segment. If I'm right, I am definitely going to have to try to get to SeaWorld when its open.
