  1. No, you don't. The Phantom's Revenge has seat belts like that, and they're constantly jamming because coins and stuff fall down the belt slot and get caught in the tensioner. It doesn't matter what type of seat belt they install, people are still going to have trouble using it.
  2. SAT: Reading: 730 Math: 640 Writing: 670 Total: 2040
  3. I think a King's Dominion trip is in order, but other than that, I don't know.
  4. Name's okay. Honestly, I really don't care.
  5. Some guy named Pejewski keeps calling us looking for room 1011.
  6. Finished mine. Ted's ballot walk-through thing was a real help. It's like they say, the easier it is to do, the more likely it is to get done.
  7. The word "ultimate" on the turnpike sign is/was misspelled.
  8. A fuse?
  9. I vote for this one. (m1)(v1)+(m2)(v2)=(m1+m2)v'. As far as TTD goes, could you set 1/2mv^2 (kinetic energy) equal to mgh (gravitational potential energy) and show that the two are transferred to one another as the train climbs and falls? i.e. kinetic is maxed out after the launch, then zero at the very apex of the top hat, and then all that potential energy turns back into potential energy at the bottom of the drop. I think he wants an example of how TTD relates to the conservation of momentum, not energy. Besides, your description is incorrect: the train is still moving as it crests the hill, therefore the KE at the apex cannot be zero.
  10. Here's a good example: The total momentum generated at launch is equal to the momentum of the train plus the momentum of the launch system (catch-car, cable, sheave wheels, capstan, etc.) Expressed as a formula: Mtotal = Mtrain + Mlaunchsystem You can then go on to say that once the train and catch-car separate, the launch system's momentum is dissipated through the use of induction brakes similar to the ones used to stop the train at the end of the ride. Other than that, I really can't think of any other TTD examples that relate directly to momentum. The examples other people have given relate more to energy, which is a slightly different concept.
  11. What about the launch, in particular?
  12. Actually, you would still feel the same weightlessness riding a drop tower on the moon that you would feel on earth, even more so since the moon lacks an atmosphere, eliminating air resistance.
  13. During the regular season, one of my coworkers at the Racer stopped the trains at the back of the station and did a little Kanye West spoof before advancing them. "Red train, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but blue train is much more awesome than you and should have won."
  14. Cotter pin. You were close, though. I doubt there are any significant forces on the cotter pin. If I remember correctly, it's just there to prevent the cars from accidentally coming up and off their pivots.
  15. Ewww, those trains look like some kind of nasty caterpillar.
  16. ^Really? I didn't know that. But the supports will be silver, so whatever is sitting at Lagoon right now, unless Kennywood changed the color scheme, is definitely not for Skyrocket.
  17. Oh God! Make the homework go away!
  18. Intermountain Lift, Inc. in Springville, Utah is the Track and Support Column Fabricator for Premier Rides. Spectrum Manufacturing in Hyrum, Utah, is the Fabricator of the Trains on the Outer Limits Coasters and Backlot Stunt Coasters. Sky Rocket could be a Complete Product of Utah! If this project is behind schedule, considering the relationship between Lagoon's and Kennywood's Management, the Cream Colored Support Columns being stored at Lagoon *COULD* belong to Sky Rocket. - Sid "Praying the Premier Support Columns at Lagoon are for Sky Rocket" Vernon What on earth are you talking about?!
  19. ^Dawn of the Dead. I've actually never seen that, lol. Someday I'll do a Photo TR of the annual zombie-walk the mall holds every year.
  20. Don't blame Kennywood too much. From what I've heard, Kennywood didn't have much of a say in the decision.
  21. I called it! www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=811397&highlight=#811397 Personally, I really hoped they weren't going to choose "skyrocket". Oh well...
