  1. Cool concept to rebuild Six Flags Magic Mountain! So far your park has a little more charm and I really like the HydroStorm ride. It's amazing what hacks can do in this game.
  2. Beautiful photos and I'm glad Mako sounds a step above the other B&M hypers. I really need to visit Orlando's SeaWorld someday. I've only been to the San Diego one.
  3. I'm interested to hear how the drop is on this one compared to those ARM/Larson towers. I'd be amazing to have a drop like that combined with the views of the Smoky Mountains.
  4. Until I got to the Riddler part, I was deathly afraid. Their hyper trains on gigas/hypers are perfect and shouldn't be modified. Of the stand-ups, I thought Vortex at Carowinds was the most uncomfortable. The sooner it becomes a floorless like what happened with Vortex/Patriot, the better.
  5. Honestly of the accelerators Storm Runner is my least favorite. It's still an excellent ride, but the bread and butter of the accelerators is the launch and Storm Runner's seemed quite a bit weaker than the others.
  6. It seems like most of new GCIs have really been winners in the airtime department (White Lightning, Gold Striker, etc) while their older ones were considerably tamer. Mystic Timbers looks great and should give awesome night rides like several of Kings Island's other coasters.
  7. Amen to this. Without this trick, Magnum would be as painful as child birth. One thing to add on Iron Dragon is that last year they started experimenting with VR on it. Not sure if they are still doing VR, but if they are, it may be by reservation only.
  8. Funniest part is that it's not even isolated to just Great Adventure. Six Flags New England has the same type of options on their page as well (Six Flags New England Food). I love when places show calorie counts. I use it to see which dish gives me more food most of the time. However, I feel like in this case I'm not getting 3X the food as a steak burrito or else Six Flags is dumping all the runoff grease into the beef.
  9. After the winter we've had this year, I'm excited that the temperature is high enough that snow probably isn't happening next weekend.
  10. So many of Lake Compounce's Facebook followers will be disappointed that Wildcat doesn't have loop-de-loops when they show up this year.
  11. Even Cedar Point's smaller coasters are quite good. Blue Streak has some amazing airtime, especially up front, and is a solid 9/10 ride. The others not to miss are the Intamins, the B&Ms, Magnum, and Gemini. Iron Dragon, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Corkscrew, and the kids coasters can be skipped. Wicked Twister is worth it since its the best impulse and it never really has a line.
  12. I haven't really found any of the larger Arrow loopers to be rough. It's the smaller ones that seem to be the worst (Cedar Point's Corkscrew, Steamin' Demon, etc).
  13. I plan on it! I know it's a week off, but there looks to be about a 50% chance of rain in the forecast.
  14. Those look like the signs I make in Roller Coaster Tycoon.
  15. When I went on a Saturday in July last year, lines weren't too bad. I got a FastLane to ensure many rerides on Fury, but most of the coasters were walk-ons with the exception of Nighthawk (looked to be about an hour), Fury (30 minutes midday, more at night), and Intimidator (15-30 minutes). Even Afterburn had no line all day. The park really hauls in getting out dispatches.
  16. I haven't found Bizarro any rougher than Scream. Both had a few spots of vibrations when I last rode them. Bizarro is a better ride though because of the location.
  17. I'm really interested to see how the straighter drop rides compared to the twisted drops on Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. The ride looks great!
  18. Especially since they can still market it like a new ride. Knott's was able to market the restored GhostRider so I don't see anything wrong marketing new trains on a coaster that will give a much different experience.
  19. Focus on the positives. Superman is a pretty good Intamin hyper coaster. Wild One is a great old wooden coaster. And because "the park sucks", I've never had to deal with any lines there much like Dorney.
  20. The second half of Mystery Mine is perfectly smooth, but the first half had some headbanging transitions. I was able to have a comfortable ride by leaning my head forwards since I'm used to doing that for Untamed.
  21. And I thought I was unlucky for missing Joker in my 3 visits last year. Seems like that ride is never open. I'm jealous your Six Flags opened a week earlier than New England's. Granted we did have a Nor'Easter this weekend so it'd be doubtful they could open anyway. Just one more week I have to wait.
  22. If Kanonen were actually going to Grona Land, I'd say they don't have room but they proved me wrong with that B&M invert. Great April Fool's prank by the park!
  23. ^ The Rockit was the surprise hit of my visit a few years ago. I wasn't expecting much out of it, but the drops had really good airtime, the turns had good forces, and the ride was smooth.
  24. The problem I have with the B&M stand-ups has nothing to do with being a guy. It's how close those OSTRs are to your head and the amount of headbanging it results in.
  25. The looks I'd get if I put that in my living room when I have guests over I agree, I would have thought that would have gone for more.
