  1. Since I use Flash Pass when I visit the park, I can jump right to the station and I agree while the ride's capacity has been neutered the wait for the front is about half what it used to be. The second row is still smooth, but it can't beat the rush of wind you get in the front row.
  2. Grizzly and Rougarou are two rides that I really enjoyed. They are solid 8/10 rides. Grizzly has good airtime and is smooth while Rougarou doesn't have much headbanging and is quite forceful. I don't think people hate it, but I love Rip Ride Rockit a ton. It's a 10/10 ride for me while I feel most enthusiasts aren't quite as high on the ride. I also loved the Coney Island Thunderbolt which I know has gotten terrible reviews. They aren't loves for me, but two rides I really enjoy that others seem to hate are Great America's Grizzly (no air time, but smooth) and Zamperla Volares (never had any headbanging so I consider myself lucky).
  3. If it's a walk-on after I've been on all of the other coasters I'll ride it. But with the VR I don't see that being a very likely scenario. Just cannot be thankful enough that VR was removed from Superman.
  4. Every big ride has a bag storage, Swarm Stealth and Saw have got free like wristband bag store but Nemesis Inferno and Colossus have station racks. X has also got a bag store. Everything else you can just leave your bags in the station. If you want to leave it for the full day though there are some pretty big fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo under the dome entrance area but if it won't fit Guest Services near depth charge will probably just store it for you. Thanks! I'm probably just going to get one of the larger lockers just to avoid hauling my bags around during the day. I'm looking forward to trying out the park. They don't seem to have a true world class coaster like most major parks, but it seems like they have 5 solid B+ coasters atop their lineup.
  5. The few reviews I heard of the portable VR drop tower outside the Super Bowl were positive, so I think this is a cool idea. I just question why they put it on Acrophobia which already has an awesome gimmick with the tilting seats. After Goliath, it was probably my favorite ride during my visit last year. Hopefully it works out well for the park, but I think I'd prefer to go without it personally.
  6. Red Force is better than Vertical Accelerator. Vertical Accelerator sounds like a coaster name from a catalog instead of a ride name.
  7. That bad, eh? lol Batwing was a one train wait and that amounted to about 15 minutes. The only ride I remember having fast dispatches was Joker's Jinx.
  8. I mean can they really make Mind Eraser any worse. This is a good move. Removes the headbanging and protects the headsets if the VR is added. With the vest restraints, I could actually ride Kentucky Kingdom's SLC three times in a row. They aren't the same as the Kentucky Kingdom trains. Those are Kumbak, these are Vekoma. I don't necessarily mind who the vest restraints are from. Just adding vest restraints from anyone is an upgrade.
  9. Fury 325 Twisted Colossus Boulder Dash Phoenix SkyRush I'd name the park something after the region it was located in.

  11. And I thought the vertical loop on Full Throttle was large. With the speed Dodonpa has coming off that launch, the inversion has the potential to be something awe-inspiring. Any word if they are keeping the launch the same or is that still an unknown?
  12. The park does a good job of taking care of Boulder Dash. The ride runs really smooth other than one portion that has gotten rough over the years (the triple up). Thankfully the park is modifying that section this offseason. I know they've tried to fix Wildcat in the past but it hasn't been overly effective. I'm hoping the new trains can finally do it. I also want to add that if your visit can somehow get you at the park after sunset, take full advantage of that. Boulder Dash is one of the best night coasters anywhere. However, I know the park can close before it gets really dark in the summer so this can be tricky.
  13. ^ My favorite scheme for the Batman clones was always the gray/silver color. Canobie Lake Park Untamed- The ride's woodsy paint scheme is outstanding. Really fits in with the area and I especially love the birch-themed supports. Corkscrew- The sky blue looks great even though I'm still not entirely used to it being that color. Yankee Cannonball- Great looking trains and I really like the color white on classic wooden coasters. Dragon Coaster- Very generic black. Six Flags New England Superman- I'm so glad they restored this to the red and blue that Superman should be. This scheme really stands out and looks great. Mind Eraser- Similar colors to Superman but a much suckier ride. Can't knock the appearance though. Catwoman's Whip- I like the subtle paint scheme and how it works with shady area near it. Batman- Solid colors for a Batman ride. Looks much better now without Bizarro due to the proximity to that overbanked turnaround. Thunderbolt- White is great on classic woodies. Wicked Cyclone- Not a big fan of the gray supports but the red rails are nice. Gotham City Gauntlet- Ok color scheme. Goliath- I like the kelly green and royal blue support, but don't like the single color green track/green supports on the vertical lifts. Pandemonium- Really weird color scheme. It stands out for sure though. Great Chase- Don't really like having the track and supports the same color. Flashback- This looks like a McDonald's with the red and yellow. Not a fan.
  14. Quassy can easily be done in 2 hours without rushing. Wooden Warrior is an amazing wooden coaster (in my top 10) with surprising airtime despite its size. I've never had to wait more than 2-3 trains for it. Get the all-you-can ride band and you can get on this at least 5-6 times in an hour. You would then have another hour to grab photos and ride some of the park's other rides. The two I'd recommend are Frantic (a crazy spinning inverting frisbee that's no taller than 20 feet) and Reverse Time (an update on the classic trabant). Lake Compounce doesn't get bad waits on the ride side. The water park can have some slow moving lines though, so it's good you are skipping that. Boulder Dash is my favorite wooden coaster. Wildcat is getting new trains this year so hopefully that gets smoother. The non-coaster rides worth riding are the sky ride, Thunder n Lightning, and Down Time. If you don't mind getting wet, they have one of the better river rapids rides too. Ghost Hunt (their shooting dark ride) is getting new targets this year, so maybe that will fix it, but for the past few years the guns/targets haven't really worked.
  15. I can help on Disneyland and Magic Mountain since I have been to those two. Depends what type of souvenirs you want. Shirts and hats are pretty typical for an amusement park. I highly recommend the "I Survived It's a Small World" shirt at Disneyland. If you've been to Six Flags New England (judging by your location), Magic Mountain has basically the same food and it costs the same. There are quite a few food options right down the road that you could get before/after the park is open. I haven't had anything at Disneyland that wowed me, but I do really like the food from the Flo's Cafe in Carsland at California Adventure. I think meals were $10-12? The clam chowder place at California Adventure was pretty good as well. I had a car for 4 days last year and don't remember it being over $200. Went through Budget. MaxPass wasn't available the last times I've been to Disneyland, so I can't comment on that. Disneyland and California Adventure can both definitely be done in a day if you are willing to walk a lot and use single rider lines. Radiator Springs Racers, California Screamin', Grizzly River Rapids, Soarin', Splash Mountain, and Indiana Jones all have single rider lines. Of those, the lines for Radiator Springs Racers, Grizzly River Rapids, Indiana Jones, and California Screamin' can get you on much faster than the regular line. I've found Splash Mountain and Soarin' had pretty slow single rider lines, but they were still better than the regular queue. To maximize Fastpasses, I usually go to California Adventure, get a fastpass and then go to Disneyland to get a fastpass. I then go back to California Adventure to use the first fastpass and then grab another. I repeat this strategy all day since fastpasses between the two parks aren't linked. Radiator Springs Racers is the most likely to run out of fastpasses with Soarin' right behind it at California Adventure. At Disneyland, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain (on a hot day) will run out of fastpasses first. I've been to Six Flags Magic Mountain twice. The first was on a weekday in May; the second was on a Saturday in June. For that weekday in May, I was fine without a Flash Pass. I only hit two bad waits (60 min for Full Throttle and 60 min for Riddler's Revenge- PS this one has a hidden single rider line I didn't know about at the time). I was able to get on X2 four times (the line died down at the end of the day) and all of the major coasters except Batman. Even with most waits as walk-ons, I couldn't get on everything because of how large the park is. It takes a long time to get around the park and there's a lot of coasters. For my second visit, I got a Flash Pass and it was much needed until 6 pm when the crowds died down. I recommend a Gold Flash Pass since you will be there during peak season. You may be able to avoid paying the $15 X2 surcharge if you ride it right at opening or the end of the day. I'm assuming you want to ride all of the coasters, so I'll skip those. At Magic Mountain, the non-coasters worth riding are Lex Luthor and the new Justice League ride. At Disneyland, make sure you ride Indiana Jones, Roger Rabbit, Star Tours, Splash Mountain, Mr. Toad, and Buzz Lightyear. At California Adventure, make sure you ride Radiator Springs Racers, the ride formerly known as Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Soarin', and Grizzly River Rapids. Also watch World of Color. It's an amazing night show.
  16. I always liked seeing the bright green color scheme but the new royal blue does look striking even if it is a more common paint scheme.
  17. They'll probably throw a Daily Planet building somewhere and open the Lex's arcade like they have at SFNE. Having this one themed Metropolis area is going to be so weird considering it's next to 2 Batman rides and Superman is across the park.
  18. Don't worry, it'll be sh*t. All Cedar Fair bumper car rides are sh*t. I thought the ones at Great America were pretty good but I agree the other ones I've been on have been poor. I'm just glad these are filling in that spot since it seemed empty over there without the top spin.
  19. Dog Fart Coaster Blackpool Pleasure Beach
  20. On the bright side, I like the color scheme on the towers.
