Six Flags Haircuts?!
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to Jds03's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sorry...I know this has been an active topic for quite some time. I know there's an official press release for it. Hell, there's even pictures to prove it, but just so I know this isn't me hallucinating from so many sleepless days online, did Six Flags really open a hair salon? I mean really?, REALLY? -
^But if a smaller park had "alot" of money to throw around I don't think that they'd buy second hand rides. Even if a sell of their rides brought in 6-7 million a pop (and please keep in mind this is a GENEROUS number considering Deja Vu was a package of 3) Selling off top-tier rides to resolve the debt is flawed in two ways. 1) Chances are selling off even popular rides won't bring in the cash they need 2) Imagine MM without Tatsu, X, Deja Vu, Riddler's, Goliath and Scream, GAm Without Ultimate Flight, Raging Bull and V2, GAdv without Ka...etc. As with the rides, so too wil your guests leave. Sure you can say "Well you don't have to sell THOSE rides, but if you intend to make top dollar by selling off your capital, you have to do it with something viable. If you sell your rides to a smaller park, there not going to want your 18 year old Arrow looper or 25 year old boomerang. Mark Shapiro is just going to have to pick up a night shift at the Kwik-E-Mart until this storm passes. Whether there's anything left to salvage after it leaves is still up in the air.

The 2015-16 NBA Season

^I just don't see Utah causing any upsets. As boring as it seems, we're going to see the standard Lakers-Spurs Conference finals, but as of right now the winners still up in the air. Utah's good, but plenty of teams are season good. I don't see them being a top teir team this playoff season. Next year however, I see them taking a hard, series loss this season as motivation to finish maybe 1st or second next season. -

^If Carlos Boozer hadn't been non-existant this season you'd may not have looked like that same idiot earlier on. A preseason scouting report would tell you they've got a solid squad. Derron Williams AK-47, Paul Milsap. The talent is there, the coaching experience is there. I guess they just didn't have that "spark" this season. If Boozer can step up next season at close to 100% Utah can be a solid contender in the west. -
^Roar is lead me to dub GCI as "the B&M of the woodie world". V2 (being my first and only impulse coaster) was quite fun granted the spike is at a slant. I think the angle provides a certain uniqueness to it.

^^Come for the 49ers, stay for the Intamin drop tower? Doesn't make much sense to me. If the 49ers buy CGA they'd probably buy the land, tell CF they can keep the rides, and build an extravagant parking structure. Now as for selling the parks, I see it as taking in games you've passed already into Gamestop. Yea you've beat it already, but it's entertaining every now and then. If your circumstances were better you wouldn't trade them in, but you're broke, so it's either a sell a park or donate sperm.

The 2015-16 NBA Season

^That was never my point. Please read what I said about L.A.'s last two road games. I clearly stated the Lakers dropped their last two on the road to teams that had more of a "need-t0-win" mentality, so those TWO losses weren't as bad as a loss to the Clippers. Indeed L.A. has had it's share of questionable losses earlier in the season, but they've seemed to be more careful after the all-star break, especially since it isn't so much of a no-brainer anymore that Boston will have the league's (or even the conference's) best record. A loss to a pathetic team like the Clipps will haunt a team more than to a loss to say, Denver or Phoenix if you loose home court advantage by two games or fewer. -

^There's only so much you can say or do about ride downtime. Things break. Cars stall, elevators go out of service. Amusement rides are no different. It's just something that goes with the territory. What I DO hate about ride downtime is when maintenece is laxed about correcting the situation. Not being able to fix a critical fault is one thing, but "taking your sweet time" to correct a minor fault just makes your organization look bad, and piss off your customers. ^^^Can't the same be said for all Six Flags employees in just about any department??? -
SFMM trip advice
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to SnooSnoo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ninja is a highly underrated ride. Don't pass it up if you have the opportunity to ride it. Tatsu and X are a solid choice to do last as every other line should be at the very least "barable". I also second eating a Mooseburger lodge. The foods halfway decent, the price isn't obscenely high, and you get drink refills. As long as you get there before 11am, you should beable to get a few runs on older rides and still fit in X and Tatsu at least once. I'd also recommend that if you intend on buying souveniers to either A: wait until you're leaving (due to toting items) or B: buy most stuff in stores as most retail locations in the park offer to hold your items until park close that can be picked up in the Loony Tunes super store right by the exit. -

^At least that we can agree on. L.A.'s one loss to Sacramento won't really mean much unless Boston or Cleveland finishes 1 game ahead of us...then that's when they should kick themselves in the ass over losses like that. -

For the sake of the arguement, the same could be said for the Lakers losing to sub -.500 teams earlier in the season in taht of Sacramento, Indiana, etc. The very same could be said for Boston losing to teamsn like Golden State or the wins Charlotte,New York or Indiana were able to get out of them. I'm just saying that L.A. has done a better effort than the the Celtics of extinguishing that flame of sub par teams wanting to beat the favorite. I hope that makes sense. -

A loss to a team that is battling to solidify home court advantage, oh well. A loss to a team that's struggling to get the 8th playoff spot, understandable. A loss to a team that has very little reason to keep playing this season other than the fact that they have to... -

^Two consecutive losses hurt. But not as much as one loss to the Clippers.
