  1. Between June 13th-21st I will be doing Hersheypark, Dorney Park, and Six Flags Great Adventure.
  2. ^What professional sport isn't? They're all businesses. But since WE don't know who's slated to win it's fun to guess.
  3. ^I worked in the box office at Universal when I was 17. We made minimum wage because the union was pretty weak. We did get two sick days a quarter, a $.10 raise a year and double pay on national holidays. So it balanced out.
  4. ^Hey...it only has like 50 or 60 ft to stop. But it's at least comfortable, if it were friction brakes...not so much.
  5. Xcelerator has one of the hardest magnetic stops I've ever ridden. Whenever I dispatched a train, I would always joke, "Hold on, this things goes from 80-0 just as fast as it goes from 0-80".
  6. ^He probably held up the booth lines arguing to keep from paying Bus parking rates.
  7. Silverwood has a nice hand-me-down set up right now...Hmm?
  8. Everytime I see anything with Allen Bradley controls (which is surprisingly more stuff than one would think)
  9. ^Freefall's exit let out right behind the "gas" station and was directly in front of Riddler's exit.
  10. ^^I was in Xcel dispatch when it hit s pigeon...Both sad and hilarious.
  11. Wow. It's not something that's said very often, but frontline employees do appreciate hearing that, even if it's just once. Being a frontline employee is difficult when it comes to complaints, because you're the first person people come in contact with, and you are the easiest to get in contact with. So whenever anyone shows any sympathy, it is appreciated. TRUST ME.
  12. ^Don't quote me on this, as I'm not 100% on this, but it was my understanding that it was corporate's attempt to do away with "individual park images" and make a uniform product. The new management team wanted to drop "Six Flags Magic Mountain", for "SIX FLAGS Magic Mountain" I also don't think it helped that it wasn't the only Six Flags park in the state, either.
  13. ^The two previously mentioned are the best floorless coasters I've ridden
  14. I got a 5 dollar microphone I bought from good guys up in L.A when Dwele found out he left his good mic at home.
  15. I went to SFMM on my 18th birthday. That was the last time I went to a park on any sort of holiday and wasn't an employee.
  16. ^Hey, I know Tatsu like the back of my hand, so I'd be the guy to ask. The visual check is because there are no sensors/light curtains to prevent the train from being dispatched if a guests leg is left out of the flap. It's all operator at that point.
  17. Screw both parks and go to Knot....I'm sorry. I couln't finish typing that with a straight face.
  18. It's basically a light curtain that ensures that the train will not advance from station to lift in the event the beam is broken from the time the train goes from "load" position to "flight" position. Say if an operator were to step in front of the train as the chasis was retracting, the train would stop and an error message would have to be reset from the control panel.
  19. ^^The worst that could happen is they could kick you out.
  20. More specifically right before Haunt of 2006.
  21. I Worked Xcel the year they installed that 3 point challenge and believe it or not, but no such incidents have happend. A few close calls, though.
  22. How did this thread grow to ten pages in 11 hours?
