  1. ^Even greater news for us in Lakerdom
  2. I gues the 2009 campaign will be "Less Flags, We're on a budget".
  3. If Cedar Point gets a flyer in 2010 I will shave my head and post the photos to prove it.
  4. ^Which coincides with my point. The novelty wore off. The $20 million price tag didn't.
  5. ^You hit a nail right on the head, man. I think B&M flyers WILL fade, but not due to design flaws. I think companies like Intamin and Mack could build a similarly thrilling ride at a cheaper cost. At the end of the day, its all about how much money you can keep in your pocket.
  6. I've always said if a park needs switchbacks just to buy tickets...you've got to be doing something right.
  7. I left my wallet in El Segundo.
  8. ^But not great. It's sad to see that aside from San Antonio (and I'm giving them the benefit of doubt because of their history) The west seems like a done deal up until early June. You'd think that western teams would've been more competitive this year.
  9. ^Sounds like a standard B&M flying train. It might have a cool, Ray-shaped pilot car, but sounds pretty basic.
  10. Terminater Says: I'm Brinking Sexy Back (Yep)
  11. Sound's like that bike Mr. Garrison invented on South Park.
  12. I still find it hard to share you guys' optimism that SIX will turn a sustaining profit in 2009 through the 'DAYcation'. I do believe that theme parks will see a decent amount of local travellers this upcoming peak season. But that's what we saw last year when things were bad. Now things are worse and the waters rising. 2008 saw people taking smaller vacations and ditching interstate travel. 2009 is predicted to be worse so I see the barbeque/public park renaissance versus the 'pay-for-play' concept that theme parks operate on. If people are looking to cut back to save cash, paying 45 bucks to spend a day with the family seems expendible when you can do it at a public park or venue for pennies on the dollar. I don't see any them park operator doing well this forthcoming peak. And since SIX already has one foot in the grave...
  13. ^I take it you mean a stand-Up worth mention, right?
  14. It's a Togo. They've reassembled.
  15. Manta will be the last B&M flyer ever built. Quote me on it later.
  16. If I'm not mistaken the city of Santa Clarita already made it a valid point that they wouldn't let MM close even if they had to buy it themselves, or to a lesser extent not rezone the land to keep prospective buyers theme park operators. I would imagine that other major parks would get the same support from their surrounding communities.
  17. It looks like Sea World spent more on this commercial than Six Flags and Cedar Fair spend on rides combined.
  18. I 'll go permitting that I'm not buried in schoolwork at the time. (I'm a HUGE procrastinator)
  19. ^The platform is used as a step, you still have to get people off using the stairs.
  20. ^Drachen Boy may be on to something. It could just all be an illusion. I mean you can shape and cut foam board to look like pretty much about anything, so long as it's not windy.
  21. John McCain's very own "Park Bench:The Ride".
  22. I find it weird that they kept the tagline 'more flags more fun' instead of going back to 'its playtime'.
  23. I think where a lot of folks have problems with Cuban is his over-the-top enthusiasm with the game being played at that moment. It's like he watches the game through the eyes of a fan. Sounds like a great and dedicated owner, but that's just it. No own would expect Donald Sterling to flip cartwheels everytime Baron Davis nailed a 3-ball. Being passionate about your team is one thing, but we all know that there is a fine line between being passionate about something a being a douche.
  24. In the same way Mark Cuban doesn't need to be on the team bench. lol
