  1. I have a question for those of you that have ridden the new trains. I was wondering how well the leg pads work? Do you still bang your legs hard? I loved X except it would leave me with ridiculously sore legs. It was almost as if my calves would get smashed to the point that when I would flex my calve muscle to walk up a hill or stairs it would hurt a lot. I want to go and ride it during the week but I'm going on a trip that's going to have me climbing a lot of hills this weekend. I'm scared to get on and then suffer over the weekend if I do ride.
  2. I also saw this today. I really enjoyed it and I'm actually not quite sure which one I think was better as far as the story line goes. I think Aslan waited so long because he was testing them to see how if they would give up faith. You can tell that their faith was being tested especially in the part where the ice queen is trying to 'help' out. At that point you could even see Michael beginning to contemplate letting her help since he felt alone. And the younger girl kept making references about opening their eyes and minds and remember that he is still with them. My only gripe with the movie was the song at the very end. I know they were using the song to explain what everyone was supposed to be feeling but they really should have just kept with a musical score. That song brought the movie down from a slightly more sophisticated level. 8.5/10
  3. The Getty Museum in Los Angeles is really really nice. Nice gardens, very nice art, really nice views of the city and ocean below. And best of all its free! Hollywood Blvd is always cool to walk down. See all the odd balls, the walk of fame. You can watch a tv taping for Jimmy Kimmel if you request the tickets ahead of time. The studio is right in front of Graumens Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd and attatched to the El Capitan, Eat at Pinks Hot Dogs, it's legendary. It's on the corner of La Brea and Melrose. Eat at In'N'Out Burgers you will not regret it! Oh and a little secret that's not on the menu...order your burger "animal style", Animal Style = the meat is cooked and fried with mustard and then pickles are added, extra spread and grilled onions are added. Another local favorite is Tommy's or more formal The Original Tommy's . Keep in mind nearly everything on the menu comes with chilli on it. There's also Melrose Ave but it has since lost a lot of it's cool hip shops. Now its pretty mundane. If you make it down to San Diego you should head down to Old Town San Diego. It's considered the birthplace of California. It's really cool, still has some original buildings that have since become restaurants and shops. There's also a piece that's slightly more modern and there's plenty of great places to eat all over Old Town. There's also what is considered to be 'The Most Haunted House In America" that you can walk through. It's called The Whaley house. It's even been recognized by Congress. The beach. Newport is nice and fairly clean and has some nice places to eat. Venice beach! A lot of fun, a lot of street performers, muscle beach, a lot of cool shops and sights to see. But make sure to do this one during the day, not the greatest place at night. Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade at night is nice. So-so shops, the beach and the Santa Monica pier is about 2 blocks down. That's all I can think of right now. If you need or want any more info on these places send me a private message.
  4. Actually it's not George Lucas but Ira Keeler, one of the special effects people from Industrial Light & Magic that helped in making Star Tours...though he does look like George Lucas. Did you know that there are remnants of The Country Bear Jamboree on The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh at Disneyland? As you are exiting the heffalumps dream sequence room look up and behind you and you can see the heads of Buff, Max, and Melvin from Country Bear Jamboree. In order to be able to see them you have to be sitting in the first 2 rows.
  5. For some reason this made me laugh very hard.
  6. I can't pick one. It's a toss up between X, Xcelerator, Ghostrider (but only at night) and Space Mountain. I know the last one is pretty weak compared to the others listed but although it's not scary or too thrilling it's loads of fun! I always come off of that ride with a huge smile and a genuine sense of happiness.
  7. Great TR, I'm at work slacking off and half awake and I just starting laughing so loud when I read that. All these people in the lobby looked over at me like I was crazy. "Coaster" sounds amazing! My friends and I are planning a trip to Vancouver and I'm going to tell them we have to make a stop at Playland.
  8. Discord in B ward a cliche never bored Discord in B-ward, siggy siggy siggy fraud?
  9. I can't stand my co-worker! I'm at work right now and she's sitting like 10 feet from me. She's extremely rude, racist and annoying. She treats customers like crap, has an obvious problem with all types of minorities and she insists on talking to me all the time about her stupid kids! Her son is a moron, who is always getting into trouble and she feels compelled to tell me about everything he does. Then asks everyone what she should do to straighten him out. People give suggestions and then the next thing you hear is that she gave him money to go to a concert or out with friends. On top of all of it, I can't fake being nice or even tolerant of her this early in the morning! What a crappy way to start the day.
  10. I know this a sad topic but that comment is my exact sense of humor! That really does suck! I've seen someone die, I'm not sure if it was a suicide or not but he walked out onto the freeway and got beheaded and we had to drive past the headless body on the ground right after. Two days later on the same freeway I had a major anxiety attack (though I didn't know what it was at the time). That incident completely messed me up. I kept and continue to keep having anxiety attacks. For a while I couldn't drive on the freeway because I'd end up freaking out. Now I have a ways of calming myself down and noticing when an attack is coming on. But due to seeing that guy do that I'm pretty much F'd for life. The past 2 years I've dealt with 2 suicides, one was family and he was only 20. He wasn't a depressed person at all, usually all smiles, normal teen angst. The other was almost a year later to the day and he worked at Disneyland as a ticket taker. He we knew had some issues with depression due to his home life but he wasn't really alone. He had moved out of his house and he had a lot of close friends. Both guys knew that they were loved and had a lot of close friends. It unfortunately wasn't enough. I know one of them could be attributed to mental illness but the other still leaves me confused and feeling like it was done for stupid selfish reasons. There's a really good movie that I saw called The Bridge, its a documentary that talks to suicide survivors of people that have jumped off the Golden Gate. It was very interesting hearing what the witnesses, families and friends have to say.
  11. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out by The Smiths
  12. They were awesome on Saturday though Portishead was the highlight for me. Kraftwerk was better in the dance tent back in 2004 because they had a much longer set. They were only given 1 hour this year. It's also nice to see someone as young as you who is into electronic music knowing and liking Kraftwerk. A lot of younger kids fail to realize how important this band was when it comes to electronic music. Even rap. So many rappers sampled Kraftwerk in the 80s. Anyways...I'm listening to Total Eclipse by Klaus Nomi
  13. Robb made it into my dreams last night. Anyways, I was at Magic Mountain with some old friends and we walked over to X because it was testing. Robb was at the gate when we got there and we were watching it cycle through and one of the seats flew off of it. The funny thing is we didn't think much of it. They ran another train through and the same thing happened. Then I woke up.
