  1. It looks like the Imagineering team has really outdone themselves in the final lift tunnel. The family and I were just at the DLR a few weeks ago and I seriously cannot wait to get back to check this out.
  2. It's still a great ride, no matter what its name is.
  3. From the park's website: INCLEMENT WEATHER Rides may be temporarily closed during electrical storms, heavy rain, or high winds. Rides will re-open as soon as safe operations can be assured. Most restaurants, theaters and shops will remain open. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather. As Guest safety is our number one priority, there are certain weather circumstances that may cause the entire Park to close earlier than scheduled or not open at all. As soon as closures are confirmed the website operating calendar will be updated with the Park’s current operating status. Please check the website prior to visiting on days when weather may be a concern.
  4. ^^ The wheel covers aren't visible in that picture. Here are a few pictures that show the covers:
  5. ^ Thank you. I knew about the major mine ride overhaul, but wasn't aware of Ghostrider. There's still plenty in the park that I enjoy. The boardwalk area and refurb of the log ride will be new experiences.
  6. The family and I will be going to Knott's one day during the week between the 10th and the 14th. Any suggestions on which day may be best? I'm guessing any day should be relatively light this time of year, but figured I'd ask in case there's some event I may wish to steer of, or a ride refurb that may be coming up. Thanks in advance.
  7. ^ And 7 yummy donuts.
  8. What's up with the rules for this Pro Bowl? I thought I knew how NFL football worked, then I turn on the game and see a 2 minute warning at the end of the 3rd quarter. I'm guessing they also had a 2 minute warning at the end of the 1st quarter also? What's that all about? And no kickoffs... Let's take one of the most potentially exciting parts of the game and just eliminate it. Lame.
  9. For me, neither was a deal breaker. I voted for option 1 because it just looked better to me. I found the large image at the top of option 2 just seemed to demand too much of my attention, but it wasn't like the page design was terrible.
  10. Meanwhile, this jetcoaster is in North Korea. Dennis Rodman might be able to help you out.
  11. I chose option 1 because the size of the slide show on option 2 just seemed to overwhelm the page.
  12. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (83 miles) is closest at 1 hour and 15 minutes. California's Great America (143 miles) is a little over 2 hours away. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (175 miles) and Gilroy Gardens (176 miles) are just about a tie at slightly under 3 hours. All those times listed do depend on the traffic. We typically leave fairly early for park visits, so traffic usually isn't too much of an issue on a weekend.
  13. Too funny. Here's the part of the movie mentioned:
  14. I wonder if there's any chance of there being a donut reward for left over spin tokens. That would be better than wasting them.
  15. I'm no longer getting a spin token for every 1000 gift cards. If I click the spin token icon in the task book, it now shows "Collect Gift Cards 1000/1000 Done!"
  16. If you were to look hard enough, there is a penalty that could be called on almost every play. Even though there are sometimes bad calls, or bad non-calls, they tend to naturally balance out over time.
  17. I literally started laughing as I read this.
  18. I'd really like to see SFDK tear out the motion theatre and use that hill for a family coaster. Something along the lines of the new FireChaser Express at Dollywood would be over-the-top awesome, but sadly we're talking about SF here, so that is highly unlikely.
  19. I approve of the effect zero G has on boobs.
  20. Thanks for the reply Robb. Since it's Disney, I'll certainly give them the benefit of the doubt. I truly do understand that it's in testing and will go through changes. I guess I was just disappointed that the part that I found most appealing didn't seem to be part of the initial roll out.
  21. Both of the Vekomas at SFDK are rides that I actually enjoy, despite most enthusiast types generally giving them the cold shoulder. Although friends and family members riding in the seat right next to me on Kong are usually grunting in pain during the ride, it just doesn't beat me up very bad at all. Boomerang isn't exactly butter-smooth, but it also has never left me feeling abused. I enjoy the moderate intensity of it, particularly going backwards while seated in the front car of the train.
  22. I will certainly reserve judgment until the plan unfolds and is fine tuned, but my initial impression is: Only 3 fast passes all day, really? I recall reading, perhaps in this thread, that part of the MyMagic program would be ride wait times updated and reservations made available accordingly throughout the day in order to better distribute crowds. That part really made sense to me. Did I misunderstand? Again, I'm not bashing the program, but rather trying to gain a better understanding of it.
  23. None from gift bags for me yet.
