  1. I love how the rides have no fences or really anything separating them from the midway. If it was this was this way in America their would be a death at every fair
  2. Yep as has been pointed out a week or so on the DL fourms those are simply the storage tracks for Mind Eraser both rides are essentially the same colors so I understand the confusion.
  3. I like the theming on Funtown's S&S. Actually you guys ran into three well themed towers on your trip. Downtime's is pretty neat with the big clock and sasquatch has some of the better theming I have seen from Six Flags recently.
  4. I do understand where the original poster is coming from thou. I don't really mention roller coasters or theme parks to my friends not because I am embarrassed but because it's not really something they take interest in. But whenever im at a park with my friends I cant help but mention things like the history of the rides or how they work and whatnot. when I was at Seabreeze a few days ago in line for the bobsleds i explained how it used to be a wooden coaster and how they added the second deck years ago , my friends actually though that was pretty cool and asked me a couple other questions as the day went on. It was actually a really good feeling knowing my friends took instrest and got to enjoy a small part of why I love the hobby so much.
  5. Gauntlet is not a spinner they prob should have done it on pandy like at SFDK but im sure the park wanted to show off the new ride plus it's right next to Bizzaro
  6. Out of the coasters I've been on I would have to go with.. Bizzaro-Sfne (preferably in its Superman years) Boulder Dash Stormrunner Raptor Viper-DL (a true arrow classic) Not my top five coasters by any means but its a nice mix of different types of rides.
  7. Boomerang Coast to Coaster - Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom (Operating 5/23/1997) Boomerang Coast to Coaster - Darien Lake (Operating 5/16/1998) Flashback - Six Flags New England (Operating 5/5/2000) Tidal Wave - Trimper's Rides (Operating 1986) Zoomerang - Lake Compounce (Operating 6/27/1997) Sidewinder - Hersheypark (Operating 5/11/1991) The best one was Zommerang, while Flashback beat me up worse then the rest.
  8. I think the one at what is now SFGAM was white while CGA's was red
  9. Yeah the scheduleing is really bad this year the Isles had 10 of their first 15 on the road it was tough to say the least.
  10. Great Tr. I really like that Wof still has a lot of old school flats
  11. Here is a topic on a Darien Lake fan site about frighfest http://amusementgraffixintl.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1619. I Hope that helps
  12. The astroworld ride is a flywheel launch just like Montezooma
  13. http://www.rides4u.com/index.php/rides/detail/1107 AstroWorld's Greezed Lightnin'
  14. Bomber (Roll-O-Plane) at Sylvan Beach- gotta love an old school flat plus the ghetto look and feel of it makes it even better.
  15. 2002 Wicked Twister- CP 2004 Whirlwind- Seabreeze 2006 Catapult- SFNE Splashwater Falls-SFNE 2008 Fahrenheit- HP Voodoo (Possessed)-DP Moto Coaster- DL 2009 Buccaneer Battle- SFGAM Sasquatch- Great Escape (Home Park) Bonus 2009 Bizarro (SFNE)
  16. Is thier any reason why this SLC is so much better then all the others? Was it this way when it was at GL or did Cedar Fair do something to smooth up the ride?
  17. Which wood coaster that is in a SIx Flags park do you feel delivers the best overall ride. While I know that very few people on the site have ridden all of the coasters in the poll I still think it would be fun to see what TPR thinks. For the parks with multiple Woodies im going to pick the one that seems to be generaly more "liked" by the coaster community. Edit- Im not sure if EL Toro should be listed due to being a pre fab or Texas Giant due to it's current renovation so if anyone would like these removed let me know.
  18. Jack Rabbit - Seabreeze (1920) Thou it was rebuilt in 1923 due to a fire but I think it has been the same ever since. Now if they could just get some Ptc's on the ride it would be great.
  19. Top 5 1.Raptor 2.BTR-SFGam 3.Talon 4.Raging Bull 5.Batman-SFNE Worst Iron Wolf
  20. After reading the best and worst log flume topic I figured TPR should have one for River Rapid rides also. My Favorite Would be- Canyon River Rapids at Herseypark- I only rode it once and it was on the closing weekend for the ride (I was at the park the same time TPR was for the EC trip) and it was night and kinda cold but I decided to ride it because I knew I would regret if I did not. I ended up being the only one on the ride and the operators let me go around 4 times it was a great way to end the night but also sad because I knew they where demolishing this great ride for a wave pool/ lazy river. My Least Favorite would be the one at Great Escape and it would be a great ride but over the years about 75% of the water elements have broke and SF has never fixed them so you walk off the ride dry a good majority of the time.
  21. Am I the only one who does not think it is fair to compare Splash Mountain and Ripsaw Falls to other logs flumes because they are in a league of their own kinda like "super flumes". But anyways I would have to say my favorite is The Log Flume at Seabreeze- that thing has a really steep drop for a log and give a coaster like sensation.
  22. Thanks for clearing that up it makes a lot more sense now.
  23. Am I the only one who is very surprised by the fact that Knott's had a higher attendance then SFMM? I have never been to either of the parks (or to the West Coast ) but it just seems SFMM would draw more people just due to the amount of rides and size of the park. Any logical reason behind this?
  24. Never gonna happen, not even a possibility, because unlike GL which is owned by Cedar Fair, Darien Lake is the Flagship park of the Parc chain they dont wanna lose it. Also they have spent lots of money undoing the damage that Six Flags left them with. They are adding this waterpark becasue when compared to almost any other park the waterpark was well below average. Cuda Falls will be open it is just not getting moved to the side with the rest of the waterpark they are even redoing it to make sure that all 4 slides are operational this year. As far as the standup goes, yes it was included with the purchase of the park from Six Flags and I do honestly think that the park has some kind of plan for the ride otherwise they would have sold it for scrap by now.
