  1. I visited Cypress Gardens once, back in 2005. I imagined it would be a quick thirty minutes, tops, to get there from Orlando. I was wrong; I don't know if it's the GPS's fault or it's just that the roads are crazy, but it took me well over an hour navigating through side streets and industrial areas. It was...interesting.
  2. ^ Sorry, but I really didn't get he was joking. If he had been, then that's fine. It's just that this topic had come up before in this thread, where people made assumptions based on solitary tests, lighting, etc.
  3. ^ I don't think that's even 1% of the total effects going to be used in the show. Don't judge a show based on three (four?) fountains going off...
  4. Repairs? Does the Psyclone trains damage the Colossus track?/
  5. I keep a death-grip on my cell phone every time I ride Tatsu. I don't trust even cargo pants, and I find it easier to enjoy the ride when I KNOW that my cell phone isn't on the ground or anything.
  6. I'm definitely going to this one after the awesomeness that was WCB 2009. Can't wait, Knott's is a ten-minute-drive from my house.
  7. I really like #2 for some reason, it's very colorful and out of the ordinary.
  8. I was looking for another coaster website and I accidentally clicked on Theme Park Review. This was about four years ago. I was around when they posted their first Japan trip report! Didn't join until a little later, though.
  9. Gotcha. I remember reading that somewhere, but I wasn't sure.
  10. Wait...isn't the ACE Solace thing the day right before WCB? Or has that changed? I somehow don't see Knott's hosting TWO enthusiast events in as many days...
  11. ^ Umm...all coasters have anti-rollbacks, I'm pretty sure.
  12. I passed up Epcot for Cypress Gardens when I went to Florida in 2005 because Cypress Gardens had more credits.
  13. It's just a water effect testing for WoC. Pretty cool if you ask me. As for shows, I enjoy them quite a bit, although it does depend on the quality of the show, obviously. The worst shows are usually nothing more than free air conditioning, while the best ones can be a highlight of my day.
  14. Thanks for the detailed TR...glad you had fun without lines. To answer your question about Indy, yes, the Audio-Animatronic at the Gates of Doom is new. Very new, in fact; it's been less than two months. It actually looks like Indy now!
  15. Maybe if we go up in arms just one more time, it'll get moved to Michigan's Adventure!
  16. And what exactly is the Winjas effect?
  17. "Uniqueness"? I'm glad they at least mentioned "aesthetic reasons" as one of the reasons why Knott's got cancelled.
  18. "My dad works for Busch InBev, and says that if they had bought Monster Co. back when they had the chance, then none of this would have happened." I think...
  19. Hong Kong in June: Hong Kong Disneyland Ocean Park ...and South Korea in July! Everland Lotte World Seoulland
  20. It doesn't matter what the corporate name is. If you think it's dumb, more power to you. If you think it's the best name in the world, more power to you too. It doesn't mean anything.
  21. I think alot of pretzel loops pack a punch. I came close to blacking out on SUF, but I was in the back seat. Plus it was night, so I couldn't brace for it either way. I've never been on Tatsu, but I automatically agree with you. What row where you in? Front row, the first time I rode it. Unforgettable experience, in more ways than one!
  22. The first time I rode Tatsu was the first time I blacked out on any roller coaster. After that first time, it got a little better because I was more prepared for it, but still, that is THE most intense moment at any coaster in Southern California.
