  1. Any details yet? We're all anxious for them!
  2. Any TOGO coaster...to see how bad it is.
  3. It's not a coaster, but I rode Perilous Plunge 12 times, no line! Needless to say, I caught a cold.
  4. Hey, I know that race isn't really the right kind of topic for a coaster forum...but I have to ask the question since it's been rankling me for the last couple of months. So during the summer I went to Cedar Point. I'm a Korean-American, but I speak English much more fluently than I do Korean. I usually live in California, but I vacationed at Ohio and decided to hit up the mother of all parks and went to CP. So I parked at the parking lot, went in, and the immediate thought that popped into my head was... "Oh my god, everyone's white." I know, I know...it's the northeast and all that. And I'm not saying that I got treated differently. I'm just asking, for the minorities on these boards, have you ever felt like you were kinda 'out of place' at a theme park that was homogenically unified? For me, the main reason I prefer SFMM over CP is that I don't really feel the 'left-out' thought that I got at CP. Am I just being hypocritical? In any case, feedback is welcome.
  5. I really, really, really like 'The American Roller Coaster' by Scott Rutherford. It's one of the few books out there that's written by an enthusiast, for enthusiasts. It offers a lot of good mullah on delightful stuff.
  6. You might want to ask the people on MiceChat. They are far more knowledgeable on Disney stuff than we are.
  7. My home parks are Knotts, SFMM, and Disneyland. Disney is probably the one I visit most since I live 10 minutes away-the others are a good worth's amount of drive away. But anyway: Knotts: Xcelerator SFMM: Goliath (haven't been on Tatsu yet) DL: California Screamin'
  8. I have a question for WCB veterans...is it possible for a large group (50-100) people to sign up for WCB and then be in the same group for the backstage tours, etc? Also, what is the timeline like? Thanks.
  9. ^ I totally, unequivocally second that motion. I think this is the only time I will advocate for Knott's getting another coaster! On a related note...does anyone know if Goliath (the one in Europe) is considered to be a megalite? It's under 200 ft, but somehow it doesn't seem so 'megalite-ish' to me. Can anyone clarify?
  10. So did we clear up the issue of this being an Aquatrax or not? The track is definitely Aquatrax, but the trains are more similar to the Motocoaster.
  11. ^^ Boomerangs do NOT pull 5.2 Gs. Goliath at SFMM only pulls somewhere around 3 G's at its strongest point, which is the helix. I am VERY doubtful that Boomerangs are more intense than Goliath.
  12. Corkscrew @ CP, 5 minutes before closing!
  13. I'm 17 years old; my first roller coaster was the Vekoma roller skater at Kumdori Land in Korea. And my first looper (I think) was Boomerang at KBF. Yeah, great choice, huh?
  14. Does anyone who live the general area tell me CP's crowd levels at this time of year? I'm planning to go there four days from now; i.e., Sunday. Any tips are welcome!
  15. Just curious as to when the Mini-Korea update will be posted. Anyone have a clue?
  16. WooHoo I finished designing my playhouse for my final project! No more CAD! AWESOME!
  17. So I was in Korea for the past summer (not for the TPR trip, but by myself) and I visited Everland. The following convo is translated...badly. (In the queue for Eagle Fortress) Chav 1: Why is this stuck in the mountains when everything else isn't? Chav 2: It's really annoying. You can't see anything. Chav 3: Maybe they forgot to cut the mountain down! Chav 4: Yeah!
  18. ...So I'm returning to the Disneyland resort after a 1 1/2 year hiatus, and I am soooo excited! I will be there for one day only, most likely getting there before the park opens, and staying there the entire day. I will be getting a 1-day parkhopper (SoCal resident). If anyone has any touring plans or tips or the like, they will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  19. I say that it is our job as responsible members of the enthusiast community to point out things that are wrong and CONSTRUCTIVELY SUGGEST WAYS TO FIX IT.
