  1. I've always heard upstop wheels which makes sense as they stop you from going up and not the other way round. I've never heard them called uptrack wheels before, so maybe that was a slip of the tongue. Uptrack doesn't really make sense as a term. I've heard zero G rolls called camelback hills before, but again this is bit of a weird term and better describes actual camelbak hills They were calling them "uplift wheels" and at least 3 people said it so I don't think it was a slip of the tongue!
  2. Sorry for the double post but today we got to do behind-the-scenes tours of all the coasters and I took some photos on my iPod. I'm not the greatest at taking photos so excuse the quality. Also, the lady giving us a tour of Montu called the 3rd inversion a "camelback hill" and I'm pretty sure it's a 0G roll. Also, every single person called the wheels under the track "up-lift wheels" but I've always known them as upstop wheels....is there another term for it or is everyone at Busch literally going crazy? Montu Stripped-down seat to show how it works displays showing how the chain lift and wheel assembly works The average park-goer can't see Montu from this angle! Testing! Seriously an amazing inverted coaster Test dummies at Cheetah Hunt! The maintenance barn for Cheetah Hunt A view of Cheetah Hunt the average park-goer doesn't get to see. Too bad it wasn't running yet! We got to ride it too! I actually liked the front slightly better today! For the control panel nerds Awesome view Sheikra maintenance barn There she is! Kumba Kumba WHere the trains stay at night We got to ride Kumba too! This ride seriously melts my face every single time I've ridden it!
  3. I didn't try it as Pantopia Grill but some of the other counselors said it was basically the same food that could be found at other areas of the park, but now they have an Italian section, Southwest, Chinese, American, a place to order sandwiches and salads, Starbucks coffee, desserts, drinks, beer, etc. Definitely the best food at the park (IMO) and I've tried everything except the pizza place. We'll be eating at the park all summer and at least Dragon's Fire Grill has more vegetarian options and some meat options that seemed good if you like that kind of stuff. Also, we got to witness the show when they soft-opened for the employees and it seemed really good. It was like belly dances in elaborate costumes. I'm pretty sure Cobra's Curse has one elevator lift and one regular lift.
  4. Thanks for the update Robb! Wish I could have said "hi" to you while you were here! When I first heard they were getting a spinning coaster, I was kinda like "meh," but this totally blew my mind when I heard about it. It's going to look really impressive and add another great coaster to Busch's already fabulous lineup. I, too, consider Kumba my new favorite B&M! I feel so fortunate to be working here (and freaking living here! Like literally on property!) and having the opportunity to ride all of these wonderful coasters all summer. The last week and a half has been wonderful and we've just been doing training so far, it's going to be even better when the kids get here!
  5. It does have a forward section, then a backward section, then a spinning section. I don't think there's any dark section. It does go by Montu and possibly over Montu as well, under the train, and onto the Veldt. I also think there will be a part of the ride that guests on the path will be able to watch, and there will be a venomous snake exhibit in the queue. This is just what I remember from what he said so don't quote me on it, go by whatever the media is saying.
  6. Today we got to talk to Mark Rose, the guy who literally planned out every coaster at Busch and worked on the new one as well. I was a bit star struck! It was so cool hearing from him and how he literally had come up with the concepts years before they ever came about. I'm excited to see the official announcement tomorrow after hearing about it in his own words. He talked a bit about thoughts for the future but alas, I can't share any of it. All I can say is I believe this park will just get better and better!
  7. Just a few hours ago, our head counselor asked us to walk the park (Busch) to see where the restrooms and first aid stations were, but when he asked me, I couldn't remember where one of the first aid stations was. When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised at a park?
  8. Omg that POV was AMAZING! I love the way the tracks interact, the stall looks really cool and OMG that AIRTIME! Seriously can't wait to ride this! I hope they duel it at WCB because there's no way I'm missing it this year!!
  9. Just finished day 2 of training as a ResCamp counselor! I've only been able to ride Sheikra, the bumper cars, and Congo Rapids and see some of the animals, but I loved Sheikra and this park continues to blow my mind with the level of detail and theming around the park. I'm very excited for this summer and I'm eagerly waiting for the next day where we can actually ride some more rides! Also, all of the counselors except for me are working on animal-science or bio degrees, and I'm definitely the only roller coaster enthusiast. Hopefully, they'll put me with all of the groups going on rides, although I'll be happy to get some time with the animals too!
  10. ^I wish I could! I don't have a good enough camera and I'm going to be in Tampa by then! yeah, you're likely right. Frankly I would of rather them save whatever money they used to buy this ride and the money used to power and maintain it to go into faster constuction of the area's getting upgraded. Though, the sea lion show is worse now theme and story wise I forgot if they even addressed the drought in it but the trainers didn't seem that into it. Plus what happens when fright fest rolls around? will they even rework it for halloween? It being Six Flags and all, I somehow doubt it. hopefully 2016 sees a dark ride, reopening of the 4D action theater or the park introducing bears. They usually do a different show for Fright Fest, though I can't remember exactly what it was. I'm definitely going to be eagerly awaiting the 2016 announcement, hopefully it'll be something more exciting. Side note: are they still doing Cirque Dreams? I haven't heard anything about it so I wasn't sure if that was over. The last time I was at the park I thought I saw there was a show in that stadium, but I didn't know what it was.
  11. I think he meant Hammerhead. It's over by the food court. It is dumb that we're getting what's basically going to be the same ride experience, but I would rather get a new ride than nothing.
  12. This is so exciting! Anything Pokemon themed, I'm totally there!
  13. This. I'm flying to Florida for the summer on the 18th, if only I had one more week in California! I also am a SFMM Gold Pass holder and didn't get any email. I really don't understand how their emailing system works but I usually am out of the loop.
  14. I would also expect them to revitalize it as some new or bigger animal enclosure, I just have no idea what. Or, they'll just leave it empty like they do with the 4D theater There's a little stage there so maybe they'll do some kind of show in there?
  15. In January I rode Tsunami Soaker at SFDK alone, I got sprayed a little by some kid with the water guns but was still pretty dry. When was the last time you watched a reality show?
  16. THIS. I'm really excited for this! I'm pretty sure I'll be able to go this year! I'll be buying those tickets as soon as I can!
  17. Last summer When was the last time you saw a shocking video or movie?
  18. LOL, after all the pages and pages of bitching about how it was going to open super late, and they're opening just when they said they were going to! Also, am I missing something? It says there's an update on page 4287 but I'm not seeing one.
  19. OMG, like the Friday before last but it still hurts! I played Broomball which is a game on ice but you don't wear ice skates, and I biffed it onto my elbow, and it still hurts when I smack that elbow on anything! When's the last time you've drank high amounts of caffeine?
  20. Yes, that's what it said on Screamscape. They're giving them to some elephant preserve
  21. Last Saturday! I love sushi When was the last time you saved some money?
  22. Went to the park today from 11-3, it was busier than I expected due to some band/choir thing going on, I saw some pins that said "Music in the Parks" so I assume that's what it was? Anyway, there were a lot of middle-school aged children roaming around in clever music t-shirts. It looks like Dare Devil is all put up now! Also saw some other areas around the park under construction. Here are my photos. I apologize in advance guys, I was being dumb and took all my photos the dumb way. Gonna see a few more of these this summer in Florida! They removed one of the fences, so now Temple of the Tiger is all just one big area! They said they're gonna rotate between Odin and two of the other tigers, siblings. Apparently they can't put two non-related tigers together. Pretty soon, these guys will be gone It was sad thinking about it. Seen in the animal area. I think they had a wolf here before. Maybe they're just revitalizing the pen? They were also working on the pens for the animals in the window viewing area across the way, so nothing to see there today either Glad I've never been sprayed by one of these guys! Queen One of the giraffes was trying to eat a stick, this one was nibbling on some plants. So cute. Hope they don't get rid of these guys soon too! I have no idea what's going on over here Maybe they're doing something to the theater? It's awesome to see one of the snakes actually move I always have to post a dolphin Or two! SOAKED. I never learn. At least I didn't go under the waterfall this time! I think I've predicted that if you sit in the far back when the boats are loading, you're likely to go under the waterfall! I was like WHAA when I saw this. Last time I saw any update about this, they were just moving around dirt. Now it appears fully assembled! Another view This is actually a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be Definitely changes the scenery around here, though I'd much rather have an actual coaster!
  23. Right now. I really should go grocery shopping. When was the last time you got sick?
  24. I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet: LA Times article So...when do you think CGA will get a dark ride? And what would it be about? And where do you think it'd go?
  25. Never, I like all parks. When was the last time you went out to eat?
