Yes, SFDK several years ago. Will your home park open again any time this year?
-
No, actually have never bought a lottery ticket. Do you like to gamble?

40 Random Questions

The question was worst B&M invert. I haven't really had a bad experience on a B&M invert, but compared to Montu, Afterburn, Banshee, Great Bear, Raptor, Dragon Challenge, Alpengeist, and Flight Deck.... yeah, Silver Bullet or Batman clones would be lower down on my list. *Though they're all great coasters and I still love Silver Bullet when I go to Knott's. Last time I rode it at Scary Farm it delivered a great ride, but I still would have a hard time ranking it above all these others. -

That's the worst you've ridden? I would consider it one of the best I've ridden. I think I answered this before but worst...maybe Silver Bullet? Or one of the less-good Batman clones. Also, I'm glad you are another who appreciates X2. -
Game: When was the last time you...

Probably the first night of Halloweekends at CP. Still had some left over from their food truck festival. My boyfriend got something at a KI food truck recently, but I didn't. When was the last time you had a salad as an entree? -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

This is great news. In this case, every one of Kings Island's coasters is smooth. Bat is fantastic. Make sure you're prepared for the walk. Bring water, food, bug repellent, a machete, and a pop-up tent. As long as you're a relatively good hiker, you should make it to Bat's station in just under 2 days. Is it worse than Zumanjaro? It's probably about as long, but Bat's queue is better because the walk to Vietnam counts as theming. It sucks more during Haunt because both Wolf Pack and Blackout start their queues along that path. Also, people get really confused and block the way. I wouldn't be surprised if some people ended up riding Bat thinking they were getting in Blackout line. At least Zumanjaro line is... straightforward. I'll be there on Friday with a first-timer to Haunt and to KI. She likes coasters but isn't an enthusiast, so credits are a non-issue. Plan to take her on Banshee, Beast, Timbers, and Diamondback for sure with Bat and Adventure Express most likely thrown in. Also plan to do Blackout, Field of Screams, and most likely CarnEvil, Cavern of Terror, KillMart, and Board 2 Death. Also can't miss Hot Blooded! And the beer man. Still developing some sort of plan because like everything is better at night but there is still some daylight until like 8pm. Most likely will do Banshee and Bat first because I think they're still just as good during the day. Plan might go out the window with lines. We might have to consider Fright Lane (I think FL+ is above our budget). If anyone else is gonna be there, say hi. I like meeting TPR people. -
Yes, on opening day too. Rode Mystic Timbers. Have you ridden a coaster before and after a stand-up to floorless conversion?

Robb & Elissa in the USA - 2017!
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Had a great time with you guys! So much fun, even though I ended up with some serious slide burns after that day. Also, I've been there twice now and still have never seen the hamster wheel or kaleidoscope room. You can seriously wander around that place for hours and still not find everything. Something to look forward to next time we go. Also, the video of Kristen stealing the phone is still pure gold. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

I'm thinking of the indoor venue that has the show, Panda Express, and pizza. They are somewhat nearby but across the little pond from each other. There is a beer stand in there. For some reason, I always forget about the beer garden despite holing it up there for hours during the freak rainstorm during Coasterstock. -

Don't get stapled and put your legs straight/feet out and it's borderline terrifying. But you didn't hear that from me. Not sure if that sort of thing is condoned here. -

For Beast, middle rows are the way to go. Also, avoid Vortex unless you need the credit. NO, front row of Beast at night is the best if you can manage it! Otherwise, anything but the back row of any car! Very back of Diamondback. Back of Timbers (potentially back right but jury is still out). Front of Firehawk (but it appears as the back in the station). Banshee front. Best beer I know is either the beer counter at Festhaus or the bar in Red's diner (by Diamondback and Timbers), although I usually end up getting it at Festahaus. Don't have a personal opinion on food as I usually don't eat at KI. Don't skip Bat or Adventure Express. They may appear small but they are a ton of fun, especially at night! Usually walk-on. Have fun! -
Yes! I actually just brought and Indian-style microwave lunch today. I know it's not quite the real thing, but still. Have you ever had a dirty chai?
-
That's the plan! SDC and maybe the Texas parks are my hope and would all be new to me. Do you plan to go to West Coast Bash next year if it happens?

Just finished your BGT report. I had to read it in two sessions. BGT really is a great place, and someday I will definitely plan a Howl-O-Scream trip. Every coaster there is awesome, and the animal exhibits are great. I even have friends still working there. I thought Mine Blower was great too and I can't believe people are calling it too rough. Wimps. Your spontaneous trips to SeaWorld and SFGAdv sounds like something I would do. Definitely approve. Once, I did SFMM and SFDK (7-9 hours away by car, depending on traffic) and rode one coaster at each in the same day since I'd be driving by both and why not? Also, Britt has the same El Toro sweatshirt I have. I'm starting to think she's my spirit animal. On my office wall right next to me as I type this. Itty bitty orca, blue whale, and bottlenose in the window

No! I seem to be in the minority, but I really don't like it. I'm not a huge cheddar cheese person in general. Do you like Christmas more than Halloween?

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Ooh tell me when you end up planning to visit Ohio! Maybe we can arrange some sort of meet up? Are you thinking about KI as well? We used FL+ on Labor Day Sunday last year which is one of the most slammed of the year and the longest we waited was for Maverick, 20 minutes or so. You'll have to wait for whichever row you choose when you get to the station, so if you want front of Millennium Force you might have to wait a bit, but in general you should be perfectly fine on a weekday. Who knows what SV will look like. As you know, Joker had its growing pains last year and I think the RMCs generally tend to do that (though hopefully not as bad as Lightning Rod!) Maybe Maverick will even get shorter lines, though that's doubtful since it is an Intamin launch coaster, LOL. -
Yes. Do you check TPR before you check your own social media pages?

What is your next park?
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This! Will be leaving soon to meet up with DILinator and others for KI Haunt! KI will probably be my "next park" for the remainder of the year besides a Christmastime trip to Dollywood and hopefully a trip to SFDK in late December as well. -
Just watched the videos. Dark Ride looks great on the inside! Are the clowns supposed to be carnies that never left? The Halloween Hootenanny video made me a little dizzy at times but it's still great to see. Best thing besides actually going to Knott's, which isn't in my cards this year. Oh, and that song is so catchy.

Didn't see Bill's response until now but the photo order does help me a lot, and I also have started to keep a list on my phone as well. I've been trying to keep up with the actual number of times I ride each coaster and log those numbers into my spreadsheet. I know, I know. It's super nerdy and doesn't get me any real life cred except to satisfy my own curiosity. Rawkin, what do you do with the spreadsheet? (I'll admit I chuckled at that!) Do you tally it up at the end of the year or does it have several years worth of ride counts on a single sheet? Tell us more! It's my "Official Coaster Count" spreadsheet! I also enter in coaster stats from RCDB (when I'm not lazy and behind like I am now). It would be cool if I could figure out a way for it to tally like how many B&M coasters I've been on, how many woodies (I only know that from Coastercounter), etc. It's all for my own benefit to keep track of what I've ridden in what order and (hopefully) how many times on each (until it gets past a certain point and I give up). I've always been intrigued with people who can say "I've been on __ coaster X amount of times!" (Have you seen Skyrush girl?!?) but there's no way for me to know without guessing which coasters I've ridden the most unless I keep track. It would also be cool if I could get the spreadsheet to have a side bar of my top 10 most ridden coasters, but I'm not that talented with Numbers yet. Maybe someday? Admittedly, I don't know if all the numbers are correct, especially for parks I have visited very often since I decided to do this. But I figure it's worth a try.

Yes. Mystic Timbers this year opening weekend, but we waited it out (took like 2-3 hours). Do you have your own public Facebook page?

What is your favorite TV-series?

^Twilight Zone reminded me... anyone else into Black Mirror? It's like modern Twilight Zone. I usually couldn't watch more than one at a time but it's one of the most memorable and thought provoking shows I've seen. You'd have to watch a few episodes to see what I mean. Every episode is a different story so you can jump around. I like season 3 the best. The one about the guy playing the horror game.... and the bees...and San Junipero. Every episode has unexpected twists at the end and some kind of thought-provoking idea about society and technology. Just...yeah. Watch it. But be forewarned: some of them are very heavy. It's by no means light watching. -
I'm sort of the same way, but looking at the photos after the fact and the order in which they were taken helps me a ton. Now that I actually remember that I'll end up writing a trip report and I should probably remember to take f*cking pictures there's more to work with and it's getting a little easier. I'm surprised you didn't point out my nerd habit of keeping a running list in my phone of the order of the rides we've done. Photos help me too for sure, but its to the point where I need to keep a list or otherwise the day becomes nothing but a blur of beer and fun. Didn't see Bill's response until now but the photo order does help me a lot, and I also have started to keep a list on my phone as well.
