This is the best news ever!! Thanks for the advice, guys! Sounds like I should allocate more than one day at SDC. It looks like they offer some deal that if you arrive after 3pm, the next day is free. So I could get a few hours in one evening, and still have the next day. I'll have to decide if that might be a better option for me cost-wise than purchasing the pass. As far as passes go, if I do decide to purchase one, does holding a SDC pass get me cheaper Dollywood tickets? I know it was half off SDC tickets with a Dollywood pass, but not sure if the reverse is true. Some of the attractions you mentioned remind me of things I've seen in Gatlinburg. I'm getting the impression that Branson is like a mini Gatlinburg? Thank you for all the advice! I might be making this venture alone, so if anyone knows they will be going that week, get a hold of me and we can ride Time Traveler!

Yes! Several plans already! And more to come. Do you like nicknaming coasters/using existing coaster nicknames?
-
So it is supposed to open with the park? Planning a visit in the third week of March. And yes, I am aware that coaster openings are often delayed and yes, I will still visit the park anyway. Also, I'm wondering if you locals think one day at the park will be enough for a first-timer, or if I should pay a little bit more to get a pass and go more than one day. I've never been to Branson, but I've heard there are a lot of other neat things to do in the area. How many days (within reason) should I plan to spend in Branson, and how much of that time at SDC? Opinions/advice welcome.

... so that's what this was about? ... are you proud of yourself? I mean, I won't lie and say I'm not entertained. I knew there was a specific "correct" answer to that question. *slow clap* I guess I'd have to answer Skull Mountain as well. So far I'm the bad kid of the group. I guess I won't admit what else I've done in or around theme parks. Just gonna let people's imaginations run wild with that one.

I like it when you make these! 1. What is the best park visit you had in 2017? Hard to choose. KI Haunt, CoasterMania at CP and CoasterStock at KI, visiting KD for the first time, and WDW with my mom all come to mind. 2. Have you ever traveled to a park with a specific ride in mind only for it to be closed all day? HA! When I went to Dollywood last year during a cold weather day, everything was closed! 3. GCI or Gravity Group? Pick one. GCI 4. How many different parks did you visit in 2017? 14 5. How many times did you visit your home park in 2017? 11 6. What was the first RMC you rode? Goliath at SFGam 7. Best view from the top of a lift? Millennium Force is pretty cool 8. What new-for-2018 roller coaster are you most anticipating? Pick one. Steel Vengeance! 9. RMC or Intamin? You can only choose one. RMC, even though my two #1 coasters are Intamin. 10. What was your favorite new-to-you ride of 2017? Fury 325 and I305. 11. Money is no object. You can travel to any park in the world right now by snapping your fingers. Where are you going? La Ronde.... JK Europa Park. 12. Have you ever made out with someone in a queue line? Yup 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? Fury 325 14. Disney or Universal? Disney 15. When is the last time you witnessed someone puke at a park? Didn't see it happen, but saw the outcome last fall in line for Mystic Timbers. 16. How many new credits did you pick up in 2017? If you don't count, take your best guess... 49 17. You're at Magic Mountain. You have a one hour ERT session on ONE coaster of your choice. You choose... X2! JK...Twisted Colossus. (would have been X2 before TC opened, though) 18. Name a coaster or ride that you passionately dislike. Anything with the name "Vortex." 19. What is the most amount of money you've spent on a Fast Pass? $0, but I got one free at CP. 20. Skyscreamers or Windseekers? Windseekers because PURRTY. 21. What is your most recent B&M credit? Batman, SFStL 22. Best adult beverage at a theme park? (under 21: whats your favorite beverage you can only get at a park?) Beer or CP Moonshine 23. Most irritating coaster nickname/abbreviation? Any nickname for coasters at Cedar Point. 24. Butterbeer or Dole Whip? Butterbeer 25. Favorite steel coaster *under* 100 feet? Phoenix 26. What's the best bathroom at your home park? The one across from Diamondback, seems like it's less busy than the others (at least during Haunt, when I drink the most beer). 27. Nighttime ERT on Lightning Rod or all-you-can-eat Cinnamon Bread? You can only choose one. Lightning Rod. Count me in the minority that can't even finish one Cinnamon Bread by myself. 28. If it were in your power, what coaster would you relocate to Knoebels? X2 29. What is the last thing you remember eating in a theme park? Veggie burger at SFDK and it was actually very good. 30. Your favorite coaster got equipped with on board audio x Spotify. What's your hype track? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] 31. Name the most disappointing ride you took in 2017. Na'vi River Journey. After waiting an inordinate amount of time in the heat, we felt the ride didn't live up to expectations. 32. Airtime hill or Zero G Roll? Airtime 33. What is your favorite coaster/ride built before 1970? I'll say Giant Dipper at SCBB because I don't want to go through and figure out what else was built before 1970 that I like 34. What's worse - splashed by malaria lake flume water or dripped on by chain lift grease? Grease. Harder to get off clothes. 35. Name an Intamin coaster on your bucketlist! Expedition GeForce 36. You just won a 3 day trip with hotel and airfare included. The catch is you have to choose between Disneyworld or Cedar Point. Which do you choose and why? DisneyWorld. A lot more to do in 3 days and a lot more expensive out-of-pocket. 37. Floater or Ejector? Ejector! 38. What was your worst park experience of 2017? Almost dying of heat at Magic Kingdom. Also almost dying of heat at SFStL 39. Name your favorite coaster under 41 feet tall. That's a very specific number. Black Diamond says 35' so... we'll go with that 40. End your post with an aerial shot of one of your top 5 coasters.

This seems like one of those ideas that could go so badly wrong... I'm sure the company has taken precautions against everything, but I still can't help but feel a person with just the right level of stupid could do something mind-numbingly idiotic to f**k this up brilliantly. Fingers crossed, this does look really cool and only time will tell who purchases it and how they ensure success.

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
Today, actually! Trying to get into a habit/routine of it. When was the last you ate something that looked bad, but tasted good? -
Pretty cool! I didn't know we had any TPR TV/movie stars (excluding TPR videos, of course). Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of those shows or movies. Right now you could say I have three jobs (but only two I consider jobs). Full time graduate student, part time graduate assistant and teacher, part time deli/sandwich shop employee. I work my butt off working 6 (and this week 7) days a week, but I still managed to get good grades last semester and still fit in time for coaster trips.
-
No. If it was last night, I was working a hellish shift. Did you have a dream (that you actually remember) last night?

Real chicken noodle.... 2007 or earlier. Tofu "chicken" noodle I tried for the first time earlier last year. When was the last time you worked overtime? -
Yes But not entirely giving up yet, either. Do you wear a wristwatch?
-

I guess I've just ridden Kong too much, I have a good bracing technique. Assuming it doesn't have a ridiculous line and one-train op, I still give it a ride every time I visit. Now Boomerang? I just pass by it and laugh. Side note, but does Wonder Woman make any of you feel nauseous despite having no troubles with other rides? It was more the beginning and end of the ride (when it was spinning a lot and not swinging as much), but both times we rode it, it made my stomach hurt. I've never had a problem with similar rides.
-
The last time I've been to this park was in '09. BBW was still there. I remember really liking this ride and reriding it a couple times. It was my favorite ride besides the coasters. Visited three Universal parks since then, so maybe I wouldn't feel the same about it if I rode it again now. Still, I was disappointed to hear this news. Did they even give the public a chance for last rides or did they just announce it would never open again?

Where Are You Going in 2018?
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since this post, I have now made plans (and put in a deposit) for a college "study away" course that travels to Disney World to learn about the design process for the rides. I'll likely drive and visit Carowinds and SFOG on the trip to and from, as I did last year. Because of this trip, some of my previous "goals" parks probably won't happen. I'm not complaining, though. Those parks won't go away, but an opportunity like this may never happen again. The boyfriend wants to visit Miami, FL and Tampa to see friends, so maybe a BGT trip could be in the works. As far as enthusiast events (for those of you who care about that sort of thing), I've already requested time off for CoasterStock and CoasterMania, and I plan to be at CP for opening day. -
I actually put all three of those in my top 20 as well. I probably wouldn't have ranked Mystery Mine so highly except that on my last trip I got several awesome rides on it with all the effects working. I have a lot of tied rankings, especially in my top 20. I'm glad you guys allowed for that. I just can't decide between some of my favorite coasters, especially wood vs. steel. I'm actually done ranking, but I'll probably fool around with it more whenever I log in. Too perfectionistic for my own good. Question: I'm wondering if gaps in ranking will affect calculations for the winners. I occasionally skipped numbers to make it easier on myself to order, and my worst coasters I ranked high numbers that exceed the actual number of coasters on my list.

I am very happy to see that you guys are opening up a few spots on your tours. I really hope no one f**ks it up. I've always been interested in joining one of these, but I still do not have the income to join this year. Hoping next year or the year after I will, and if you are still opening up spaces on a tour, I would definitely be interested! Hope you find respectful, responsible people to join this year's tours, and I look forward to seeing the pictures!

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
Last time I recall was probably in the late spring/early summer near the trash cans at my apartment complex. It's why I'm afraid to take out the trash at night. When was the last time you had an itchy bug bite? -
We need to get past this beta test period first and then we will figure out when we will do the poll for "real." We haven't really even mentioned that poll that much outside of the forum members as we wanted to get as many bugs worked out of the system before it goes more mainstream. Makes sense! Sounds like there's still going to be plenty of time. I went ahead and ranked more than half of mine just now. I'll mention some of the small issues: -There is a glitch that occasionally duplicates coasters and the duplicates have not gone away. Currently, I have duplicates of Millennium Force, Griffon, and Loch Ness Monster. I think it happened when I refreshed the page before it was done saving. The duplicates appear to "follow" each other. So every time I reorder Millennium Force (by typing in a number), the duplicate follows suit. -The saving button will sometimes appear continuously loading, even if has already saved. Refreshing the page makes it go back to normal. -Appears that scrolling down while holding an entry works, but not scrolling up. -Entry will default to "1" when reordering among already ranked coasters by drag and drop. Most often if I drop an entry between consecutively numbered entries (i.e. dragging and dropping between 60 and 61. Typing in the number is fine). -Chrome still doesn't work, all of what I've done is on Safari.

Game: When was the last time you...
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
From school? Probably 2012. From work? The Saturday before last. (I actually wanted to go to work) When was the last time you watched a really terrible movie? -
Huh. I just tested it on the latest Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and dragging and saving is working just fine for me. When you drag to the top, you have to hold it above that line just for a brief second and then it should drop into place. Is that what you are doing? Sorry to say, Chrome still isn't working for me either. Only the first 10 or so on the page (whether ranked or unranked) are able to be picked up, and then will not drop. The rest, when I click on them and try to drag, it gives me this little page icon that does nothing. See picture Attempting to drag "Iron Dragon" to the ranking list, note the little page icon EDIT: Thanks for the suggestion of typing in the order and refreshing, that does seem to work, even on Chrome.

Sorry for double post, but on Safari I am experiencing two frustrations. First, whenever I go down and select an unranked coaster to move it up, the screen does not scroll up on its own while I am holding that coaster, so I have to frequently "put it down" to scroll up and move it piece by piece to where I want it. Also, for some reason it automatically labels it a "1" even if I place it further down. Here's a pic. I can then go type in whatever number I want, but it does not change the order for me without manually moving it again. Again, thank you guys for all the hard work!

Oh no! We'll never be able to figure out what the best coaster in the world is if we can't add the second worst coaster in f*cking Nevada. Don't worry, I've got you covered. Just added Adventureland NY, Bowcraft, Buffalo Bill's Resort, Canobie Lake, Casino Pier, Castaway Cove, Clementon, Cliff's Amusement Park, Columbus Zoo, Great Escape, Luna Park / Scream Zone, New York New York Resort, Martin's Fantasy Island, Rye Playland, Six Flags St. Louis, Seabreeze, Story Land, and Strickler's Grove. Just wanted to let you know, it's Stricker's Grove. Thanks for all the new additions! I still can't get drag and drop to work using Chrome, but I'll try again with Safari. Thank you guys for all the hard work! I'm sure this is a PITA right now, but I think this will be great once all the bugs are worked out!
