Mmmmm............Water Gap Wheat. So, anyway, today we took a nice little fishing trip for Mother's Day at a place called Rock Creek. You have to drive over the Mt Hood pass to get there from Portland so on the way home we stopped at Timberline Lodge. and it just so happens that the only beer they serve at Timberline of from a local micro brewery located on the pass called Mt. Hood Brewery. They actually brew some very good beers that are hard to get outside of Oregon. The Cloud Cap Amber Ale is my favorite so I just got two of those and called it good since I still had an hour drive home. This gives Widmer Drop Top Amber some serious competition for my favorite amber. Totally smokes Fat Tire (hey Matt).

Photo TR: Hersheypark opening weekend

Give it another shot Nicole. I guarantee you'll like it. Just don't make the mistake of staying where we did. Just ask Derek how nice it was. At least the room came with a fly-swatter. You know, just incase theres some giant insect you need to kill or something. Our key. Yes, a real key. Probably the same key they had when it opened in like 1950. Not sure why our car was the ONLY car there. Yeah, this was where we stayed. Next time I'll do a little better job reserching. -
Well, Derek pretty much covered our dinner at ABC in Harrisburg so no need to post any pics of that but just to say that there Water Gap Wheat was about as good as it gets for a wheat beer. The Maibock was even better! So, on our layover in the Twin Cities, we found a Rock Bottom Brewery right next to our gate. Score! Finished with a Singletrack Copper Ale. Sandi also had the Rock Bottom Wheat. I totally love there hamburgers. I started with a Rock Bottom Wheat. Yeah for good restaurants in airports.

Awesome pictures Derek! It was great hanging out with you on Sunday. We had a blast! No lines, awesome weather, lots of chocolate, and some serious GCI goodness. I still give a slight edge to Thunderhead, but Lightning Racer was very close and Wildcat was great too. Storm Runner was fantastic (although not quite as good as Xcelerator) Great Bear was a solid B&M invert, and Sooperdooperlooper was very fun also. All in all, a very fun park that we will definately be visiting again, along with all the other great parks in PA. Hopefully I'll have my pics up in the next day or two. -
Photo TR: The Johnson's finally get to Dollywood

Very nice TR Erik. Sandi and I had a blast at Dollywood last year and reading through your TR really makes me want to go back. I like how you mentioned Superman as "Mini-Tatsu". That is exactly how I think of that coaster. It is a lot of fun, but after Tatsu, it just is kind of insignificant. -

We will be hitting up Hershey for the first time in a few weeks on May 6th. I really hope it warms up some by then. Looks like you still had fun though. -

Happy Birthday Wally! AKA That damn hippy Phishybrewer!

Happy birthday man! I'd drink a Budweiser in honor of your birthday, but I really hate that crap. You brew Widmer now right? I'll have a Drop Top Amber Ale, or five, to celebrate! Justin. -
Nice pics Jahan! And you were not over exaggerating the overall crapyness that is Rockin Space Mountain. Totally sucks how it is now. I might even go as far as to say this: Buffalo > Rockin Space Mountain.

Great pictures Erik. It was great meeting up with you guys again. Hopefully we can do it again soon. Too bad you had to visit when they were doing Rockin' Suck Mountain, but hopefully next time you visit it will be back to normal. Justin -

So, this last weekend I got to meet up with some friends (old and new) in SoCal, and of course that also meant drinking some good beer. I didn't take many pics of the beer drinking (not to worry, I know Derek did) but I'll post the few I did take. And finally, Ted and I enjoying one of many different selections Derek had for everyone on Sunday. Goes very well with the steamed clams and mussles. Hmmmm, Arragant Bastard. Next stop, Stone Brewery. Wally, Derek, Matt, Don, and Ted all enjoying there free beer. Ted gets his first sample. No trip to Seaworld is complete without a visit to the Hospitality Center.

As I'm sitting at my computer, eating my fish and chips, and drinking beer, I decided I'd actually take a picture or two for a change sense I was drinking something new. Not too bad. I'd put it about on par with Fat Tire. Bottoms up! Cinder Cone Red Ale form Deschutes Brewery in Bend OR.
