  1. My daughter and a friend talk one of the orangoutangs at the zoo into posing for a picture with them. Smile
  2. ^ Originally we had an ABL team and I don't even remember there name. When that league went under we got the Fire which was WNBA. They lasted only two seasons due to poor ticket sales. Apparently I am not the only one in Portland who doesn't like watching womens basketball but, to each there own I suppose. Infortunately, like Sacramento, Portland is a one pro sport town. Other than the Blazers we have a AAA minor league team called the Portland Beavers and that's about it. Hee, hee. I just typed Beavers.
  3. OUTRAGEOUS!! I didn't even hear about this and I live in a "basketball town." If I didn't think watching grass grow was more interesting than the WNBA well, then I might be even upset. Portland used to have a WNBA team but I think it's gone now....maybe. Oh well, at least there is still soccer for those peaple in Portland who like really boring sports.
  4. ^ Love your beer glass. Nothing like drinking beer out of Mickey mug.
  5. ^ I hear ya bro. In best Homer Simpson impersination: "hmmmmmm....boobies"
  6. Another vote for Shawshank Redemption.
  7. I went to Oregon City High School. Oregon City is basicly a suburb of Portland. However, while Portland is a very liberal city with a fairly large gay population, Oregon City is most definately not. It is about 97% white, 3% Hispanic, and 0% eveything else. If you were a male and came out you would have had the crap beat out of you. If you were a female I'm sure you would have been an outcast. That was over 12 years ago as I graduated in 1993 and I have heard that things have gotten a lot better but i have my doubts that it is considered "popular". You would be amazed how things like racism and hatred can hang on in smaller communities.
  8. ^ Drop Top is actually just a little lighter than most amber ales and very smooth. Widmer Brothers actually makes several different beers, many of them seasonal. I don't know that many of there beers make it out of the Portland area though with the exception of there Hefeweizen. http://www.widmer.com/
  9. A late dinner from Mike's Drive in. Fish & chips. And an ice cold Widmer Brothers Drop Top Amber Ale. Drop Top Amber Ale, Probably my favorite beer right now
  10. Ok I've been holding this one in for a long time. I still like 80's hair metal. No I still love 80's hair metal. There I said it. Now you may all laugh. 8)
  11. ^ Roar @ SFMW has always ran very nice. Of course they have Milennium Flyer trains on that one and they are obviously a much better option for a twister than PTC.
  12. Ghost Rider @ Knott's. Insane! They normally shut it down as soon as any rain starts. It was sprinkling very lightly when we left the station and by the time we were at the top of the lift hill it was pooring. I don't know how much speed you acctually pick up but it felt like a lot.
  13. PhishyBrewer, you need to make the 10 hr drive north to Portland if you like good microbrews. Portland has by far the most microbreweries of any city in America.
  14. Widmer Hefeweizen. Just got back from Portland International Raceway after loosing in the 2nd round and needed something to settle me down.
  15. Song: We Are All On Drugs Artist: Weezer I can't get enough of this song. I love it.
  16. Being an avid drag racer I love them. For me the hole ride is about the launch. Speeking from 15 yrs experience drag racing, you would have to have a car that does less than 7 seconds in the 1/4 mile just to equal excelerators launch. That to me is amazing! I could ride excelerator all day and not get tired of it.
  17. Seen them a couple of times here in Portland and they absolutely ROCK. One of the best bands of all time.
  18. I also got full onride footage of ToT at DLR. They didn't say anything. Even got our onride photo with me holding my camera in front of my face
  19. Portland OR is a fairly large city with lots of outdoor activities nearby.[/img] A shot of Mt. Hood in the background A veiw of downtown.
  20. Hello everyone. My name is Justin Saxe. I am 30 and have been a theme park lover ever sense my first trip to Disneyland when I was 5. I have known about this site for a while now but have to admit I was a little intimidated by the volume of members using the site. I am not the most skilled computer user to say the least but I am getting better. I live in Portland OR and have ridden 65 coasters, all but 4 on the west coast. My other passion is drag racing my 65 Skylark during the summer.
  21. All I want. Toad the Wet Sprocket.
  22. What drives me insane is the person at work who is ALWAYS happy. And not only are they always happy, they make it there mission in life to be the one person who can cheer you up when you are not happy. We have a 55 year old bookeeper where I work who is never in a bad mood. Drives me crazy. I've got no problem with people who are generally in a good mood but no one is happy all of the time. For those of you who have seen Office Space (one of my favorite movies) it's just like the scene where Peter comes in to work after having a bad morning and the receptionist says to him "sounds like someones got a case of the mondays". That is the person I work with. Aaahhhrrr!!!!!
  23. Colossus @ SFMM is actually an OK ride backwards. Wish I could say the same when it's runnug forward.
