  1. Not gonna lie...I think that looks like a ton of fun. Deadly fun.
  2. ^Unless Intamin were to cut them a deal after they failed to deliver a worthwhile product the first time...
  3. This whole thing wreaks of a Management Decision, not a Safety Bulletin from a Ride Manufacturer, as that would have required the Safety Belts to have been installed and in use before the ride opened to the public for the Season. Yup.
  4. When's the last time Holiday World made an addition that wasn't truly unique and/or record breaking? I don't think there's anything wrong with speculating big here. Have we all forgotten the "what would make your dream coaster?" surveys at Holiwood Nights 2011? I'm willing to bet they haven't.
  5. ^I disagree, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see! But is Lightning Run sitting on top of a giant concrete pad? If so, not a fan of that...
  6. You all are driving my excitement through the roof! Opening day tomorrow is going to be a blast! Incredibly impressed with that station interior.
  7. King Cobra's trains were visible for years. But was the track? Edit: A quick look at the coaster's RCDB page/pictures answers "yes."
  8. I just find it very strange that the ride is blatantly missing from the park map and no official announcement has come from the park yet. That isn't really Holiday World's style...
  9. I thought they were extending the station?
  10. Surely that's not the final new paint job on Delirium, is it?
  11. The park looks so good! I can't get over it. Now if only they could do something about that horrible razor wire...
  12. Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. The GP is just as capable of telling when a ride is lame as we are. I'm really excited for Banshee. It looks beautiful and Kings Island severely needed a new, giant people eater. However, I am afraid that a lot of us will get off of it and think, "Meh...could've been better." Just like the enthusiast AND general public reaction was to GateKeeper. My problem with Banshee isn't really that the layout includes elements that are huge and drawn out. It's the fact that the layout IS elements that are huge and drawn out. That's it. There's no character here. No unexpected changes in direction. No quick airtime opportunities. No creative interaction with the terrain. It's just a giant coaster on a hill that does nothing different than any other B&M. Kumba has an unexpected pop of airtime before the cobra roll, a fun dive into a tunnel, and a hidden helix. Great Bear has an awesome first drop sequence, a zero-g followed by an airtime+laterals hop, and a funky transition into a corkscrew. Montu has a finale full of fun dips and twists and flips. What does Banshee have? Nuthin'. And that's the main reason I'm disappointed in what B&M came up with here.
  13. Does anyone else think this ride looks kind of...ugly...from ground level? I mean it looks cool...but ugly.
  14. The giant American flag and flagpole on top of the drop tower is a great touch. Onto the world's tallest body slide!
  15. So...an elevator lift into a vertical 200+ft drop? I think I can deal with that.
  16. I think the tower would look much taller if that light pole wasn't there to throw off the perspective. What's the capacity on that model? 12?
  17. You consider this terrible? I was kind of impressed with Black Widow's set-up.
  18. I'll give you an A for effort, but a better coaster to make that joke about would have been Flying Turns... Or Orphan Rocker. Sometimes you've gotta think outside of the box, guys!
  19. There is so much great stuff in this update. Unfortunately not great in the usual sense of the word. But thanks for sharing! Did they alter the falling star's cycle at all to make it not suck anymore?
  20. Plus, the average guest isn't even going to realize this isn't the original Starliner. They'll just ride it and think, "This is even better than I remember!"
  21. This looks great! I had no idea the park was going to be this full-scale.
  22. Interesting that they're putting up all the supports first...this is a pretty rare technique, isn't it?
  23. It'll be fun to see how quickly this area gets put back together. I'm sure it'll look better than ever!
  24. This looks utterly fantastic, and even better in person. Thanks for sharing the pics!
  25. ^But it's literally the same layout with the same support structure. This whole project is bewildering... ...and I love it.
