  1. Local news report on Undertow & Zipline: http://www.kionrightnow.com/global/video/flash/popupplayer.asp?ClipID1=8718937&h1=It%27s+Here%21+Boardwalk+Receives+Roller+Coaster+Shipment
  2. According to RideHopper, very. Max waits on Tatsu and Goliath, 60-90 on X2 and SEFK, 45 on Viper really stands out. RideHopper info isnt guaranteed, but looking at everything together it looks pretty busy.
  3. Actually Im hearing almost everything is back up and running right now, I think only Goldrusher is closed at the moment. EDIT: Goldrusher opened back up before closing as well.
  4. Painting..haha I was thinking of the YOLO Crane, perhaps if they're putting up steel they closed rides whose riders or queues could potentially be impacted by a crane accident.. Incidentally Apocalypse is also down..curious so many rides are down on a busy week.
  5. Im seeing reports that Goldrusher, SEFK, LLDOD, and Tatsu are all closed today. Perhaps they closed the whole area around the crane for safety? Then again Ninja isnt reported closed so maybe its a coincidence after all.
  6. ^ If nothing else this coaster sure is making for some great coaster photography.
  7. Ha..good timing. Look what SCBB Just posted on facebook!
  8. When I'm doing a batch and I'm not concerned with quality, I use this: http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/
  9. Are you implying that they would care enough to pray? Cause I'm not sure I buy that. On some rides It seems they are perfectly happy running one train even if it results in unnecessarily long lines MM is the only park I've seen stack a ONE train operation, because they just werent paying attention and the riders sat in the car outside the station waiting for the op to finish her conversation with a coworker. Sadly I've seen one train "stacking" on more than one ride at MM. (Apocalypse, Goldrusher, and Riddler) On the other hand they did recently get a second train back in operation on Riddler's which is the best news I've heard in a long time..I love that coaster and hate that loud dirty mess of a que so much.. I will be very relieved to see the average que go from 60 to 30.
  10. Well it's SFMM so never rule anything out, but being that it is Premier I would be shocked if there were OTSRs. The kind of lap/shin bars they use on SUF at SFDK pretty much eliminate the need for OTSRs on any coaster type currently conceived as far as I can tell.
  11. My interpretation is that the double rides were for everyone. The 2 hour ERT is for SPH only. I was actually just thinking about the double ride promotion and at first I was bummed that I couldnt go but then I thought about how slow the lines will be moving with everyone riding twice.
  12. I dont know, that chain lift was pretty fast..pretty much a launch as far as woodie chain lifts go.. Thats pretty much my only gripe, that I'm 2,000 miles away.
  13. Yeah 5/13/06. I pulled up the video of the construction (Tatsu's whole construction was on a discovery channel show) and steel construction was finished in mid April, and Tatsu had a bit more testing than a typical coaster (5 weeks..although I wouldnt be surprised if the launching with this coaster might take a similar time to work out), based on that I wouldn't think it unreasonable to have an early May opening for YC.
  14. Really? Where did the 2nd train come from, rehab?
  15. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn its basically across the street and was pretty nice for the price. Definitely walking distance. There's also a Holiday Inn Express that I stayed at several years ago, also walkable.
  16. To the OP, the newsletter just came out saying there will be ERT at 10am on 3/17 on Riddler's if you have a Six Flags Season Pass...this would solve one problem line for you if you happen to be there that day.
  17. I asked Roger Ross about Vortex, and he jokingly said, "Vortex needs it so bad, I might just get up there and paint it myself!" hahaha! I'll gladly volunteer to help.
  18. If you have more than one or two people I would definitely say to hit Riddlers first. X2 and Goliath tend to have shorter lines late in the day because most people run there first and get it out of the way, and since those two rides usually have the most efficient operations, the line gets shorter later on. Riddlers is definitely the worst operations in the park. They only have one train, the ride ops are usually slow, and the GP always seems to be confused by the restraints. Dispatch times on this ride are horrific. So the line is just almost always long even when the rest of the park is a walkon. If youre by yourself or dont mind riding by yourself you can use the single rider line, if you want to ride together with others, do this one first. It's actually a pretty good ride, definitely the best standup out there IMO.
  19. Actually when I was there in January, taxi fares werent bad. However you were right to begin with, The SDX is probably the way to go. The Deuce works too, but is significantly slower due to all the stops.
  20. Gotta be X2 front row. Face first straight down, nothing else like it on this side of the planet.
  21. It used to better? I was just there for the first time and I thought their theming was some of the best on the strip. Coaster aside, NYNY was my favorite casino of the dozen or so I visited.
  22. Under the track or over the station/plaza I dont see a problem with I was just thinking of track going over the sefk track. Is there room for track to cross under sefk in that area?
  23. At least Stratosphere is close..only other worthwhile entertainment in that area. ^ Yeah I call it Manhattan Express too. As of Jan, the all day wristbands given out still have the ME logo. I didn't notice all the stock names at the dome,I havent actually been there yet. The one time I was in Vegas was in January when it was closed for maintenance..that's very odd, I wonder why they do that.
  24. Anyone else notice that the roller coaster at NYNY is called "The Roller Coaster" and this El Loco is called "El Loco"..where's the creativity in Vegas? Not that I'm any less excited for it.
