^ Yeah from the short conversation I had with the guy they have enough people for Tuesday but theyre still looking for more for Weds and Thurs. I assume they will want enough extra people on hand that they and pick choose and swap people to their liking. Im assuming this means everyone who signed up for Weds and Thurs should have gotten an email.

Unnecessary Queuing Lines
singemfrc replied to palmerleeberry's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This time of year it seems unnecessary, but sadly it frequently gets that long in the summer, several times the line will actually stretch across the bridge to the plaza. I've heard of 3 to 4 hour lines for X2 during the busiest days. It was over 2 hours earlier today. I can't think of any that were unnecessary as built, although there are certainly a few that are less necessary now than they were when built like Viper. I guess I could say Medusa at SFDK for one specific reason - I have never ever seen the park use the switchbacks. Even when the line stretches out the entrance, they still don't use them. They should be used, but they're wasted. -
The last few times I've been to the park Roar has been on one train operations all day with no other train in sight. Good Day Sacramento is at the park this morning, Marcus Allen is marathoning Hammerhead non stop, he's supposed to stay on it until 9am. I heard he was marathoning Boomerang before that..he must really love pain! They may put the video up on www.gooddaysacramento.com, theyre still broadcasting live right now.

Should definitely be doable, especially in that order and if you go on a Sunday and have a gold pass (which gets you into Kong & Medusa 10 mins before park open at SFDK). On my last visit to SFDK I had ridden every coaster in the park (except Cobra) and was walking to my car by noon. There are only 6 coasters at SFDK plus Cobra and without GoldStriker only 5 at CGA plus Taxi Jam. It's about a 1 hour drive in between parks. Crowds at both parks have been pretty light recently, I think you should be able to do it pretty easily. I'd plan on bringing cash for a FastPass/FastLane just in case, but barring something unexpected I don't even think you'll need it unless you're doing flat rides as well and even then, you'll probably only need it at CGA.

Perish the thought! Aside from my obvious bias (Demon is one of my all time favorites and I have a soft spot for almost anything Arrow), I think Vortex would be removed long before Demon, despite Demon being older. Demon has some sentimental value for me because it's kind of the original intense coaster in Northern California. Before 1992/1993 this was the coaster you went to for intensity..it was the one people talked about. Before Top Gun, before Hurricane at SCBB (Which was significantly more intense in it's debut year), before the entire SFDK park (or at least before it had coasters).

There isn't a single rider "line", the ride ops will just pop out when needed to ask for single riders as you are waiting in the normal que. If you are a single rider and they ask, you just pop your hand up and they will ask you to get out of line and go up the exit. Here's a photo: The left door is the normal entrance, the right door is the panic exit and flash pass entrance. The first switchback zig zags back and forth in front of the station. If an op comes out the right door and asks for single riders and you volunteer, you just get out of line and go through the gate in the small black chain link fence and into the right door. If they don't ask, theyre not taking single riders. They only normally do it when the ride is busy, when the line is at least to the end of the first set of switchbacks.

There are no formal single rider lines, but when Superman is busy, ride ops will pop out of the exit (which is right next to the entrance in front of the que switchbacks) and ask for single riders and take you out of line and in through the exit to put you on the train that is currently loading. I've found Sundays to be the best for short lines (at least when the park isnt open weekdays) and the first 2 or 3 hours in the morning are the best. I went to the park a couple weeks ago when they opened at 10:30 and had all six coasters ridden by noon. Getting there before the park opens is definitely the best way to beat the lines. If you have a Gold pass for another Six Flags park, you can get into Oasis Plaza (where Kong and Medusa are) about 10 minutes early. If you have to go on a busy day like a Saturday in Summer, fast pass is definitely worth it. There usually aren't very many people using FP and they work on all coasters, so you can pretty much walk onto anything with a 1 or 2 train wait. BTW..definitely try to ride Superman in both row 1 and row 6. They don't normally let you pick your row, so you might have to ride a few times but it's worth it. Row 1 gives you a spectacular view of the heartline roll and row 6 gives you some great ejector air.

It would seem that way, and if it was at SFMM it probably would be, but the Superman crew at SFDK always always does an outstanding job getting the fastest dispatches possible. On most summer days the wait usually doesnt get over 30-45 minutes unless it's something out of control like Key Club day or bring a friend free day or something. By mind eraser I assume you mean Kong..there's a reason it's slogan is "There is no escape"

^Agree, and I think Riddlers' needs to be on the list with Scream and Ninja. It looks like no one has so much as taken a duster or broom to that building in years..on my last visit it was the only one that stuck out to me as being dirty and worn down (Worth noting that I skipped Ninja and Scream was a walk on so I didnt have time to look). Also LLDOD being new still looks fresh, unless we're only talking purely coasters. I really wish they would paint Scream and Tatsu. They're the two most visible coasters (other than Colossus) and I think when you first pull up and see those coasters faded it gives that first impression.

I used to grey out on Goliath at SFMM in the helix every time, for me Ive found that tilting my head to the left (so that I am parallel with the track rather than perpendicular if I was just sitting up straight in the seat) eliminates the greyouts, I think/assume because the blood doesnt rush directly out that way.

Oh yeah I don't think we'll see them running a three train operation, Im just happy train #3 is in use. Yes, the gold entry gets you into Oasis Plaza (Kong & Medusa) 10 or 15 minutes (its not the same every day) before the official park opening. There won't always be signage, but go talk to the employee holding the rope, they will check your pass and let you in when the time comes. You can then go get in line before the GP, but from there it depends on when they finish testing the ride. When I was there last week, I was able to get one ride each on Medusa and then Kong before they opened the rope to the GP. Unfortunately this is only for Oasis Plaza, they do not to early entry for Sea (SUF/Roar/V2), although Sea does seem to get more Gold Pass ERT sessions, so it kind of balances out.

"Out of Fashion" Ride Styles
singemfrc replied to josephcissell's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is at least one out there that fits that description. #1 on my bucket list to ride. One of the most creative unique layouts I've seen on any coaster, not just a flier. -
Great day at the park today. Weather just overcast enough to keep the lines short, at least in the early part of the day. My gold pass got me some mini ERT as Medusa and Kong opened for gold pass holders about 5 minutes before the park was scheduled to, which allowed me to grab the first train of the day on Medusa and then Kong as well. Ended up riding everything by noon (except V2 which didnt open until about then). Side note on Kong - it was running only one train (same as Kong and Roar, whose second trains were nowhere in sight) which was the yellow train, which normally might make me skip it, but I decided what the hell and for the first time it didn't try to kill me. I thought of a logical way to try and prevent the usual headbanging..just before each turn in the track, I turned my head towards the inside of the turn and put the back of my head against the side of the restraint facing the outside..I thought it worked pretty well as it kinda sorta turned those oversized OTSRs into not-so-comfortable headrests instead of the normal ear-smashers, but I'll have to try it on subsequent rides and other coasters (really curious to see how well it might work on Revolution) and see if its just a fluke. Mini side note on Medusa.. two trains were running, and the third train was sitting in transfer apparently ready for use. It has been years since all three trains have been in once piece. I could be wrong (I forgot to actually look) but I believe one of the trains in use today was the long-in-rehab train 3 as the restraint mechanics felt significantly different than usual (ie they didnt have the usual play). Average wait on S:UF on an average day is about 20-40 minutes. The SUF crews are always on their game and really do a great job dispatching the train quickly. Ive only seen it get over 60-90 mins a couple of times on exceptionally busy days like Key Club day where I think it was over 120. If it's a busy day they will do single riders by having an op come out of the exit and ask for singles to come out of line and get on the current train.
