  1. Well almost everyone blacks out, the ride is designed to do that. Well, I know the Senior Lead at Goliath and he knows a bit about the ride. He says, it's not designed to make people black out, and almost no one blacks out on it. Yup, looks like you have issues! Well everyone on the ride that got off with us did, and my 2 friends i was with rode it twice more, and everyone that rode with them on both of those rides did too. I waited for them at the exit while they rode the last two times and heard several people talking about it happening to them as they exited. I'm not talking about full-fledged passing out unconscious, I just mean that the G's are causing your vision to go white. For me it took me like right to the edge where I almost couldn't see at all and then it levelled out.
  2. Well almost everyone blacks out, the ride is designed to do that. The whiplash wasn't serious, just unpleasant at the time. There was a part of the ride that jerked me backwards quickly and since the cars have no headrest my head kinda flung backwards since I didn't know it was coming. Again, not a big deal..I just personally didn't enjoy that particular ride so I have no plans to ride it again, but I love every other ride at the park, especially X and I'll definitely be back there to ride X2 as soon as it opens.
  3. I think it might be of benefit to have the rideops mention that to guests, since they're less likely to return if the park's most popular ride gives them a bad experience. Personally I wished someone would have warned me that Goliath would give me whiplash and black me out so I could have seen it coming..but thats okay I'm not bitter, I'll just ride X repeatedly instead of riding Goliath
  4. Regarding the rough ride on the original X I think it really has a lot to do with how people strap themselves in. I went with 2 friends and they both complained it was extremely rough and threw them around while I found it was more comfortable than any ride at the park save for Tatsu. (I didn't ride Viper but I doubt that matters) Before that day I hadn't ever ridden X and since I knew the seats pitched I made sure to strap in tight enough that there was no room for movement, and my 2 friends were in more loosely and got rattled around. We all rode front and back, inside and outside and didn't find it made much difference. I think people have a tendency to loosen the restraints so theyre not pressing on their chest or shoulders, but I find its more comfortable to tighten them so you dont rattle when your seat pitches forward or backwards. I like that the track is getting repainted (and actually someone's suggestion of bare steel instead of paint sounded good), and definitely the new cars if they will be more reliable. IMO the one big problem with X has been the reliability. I dont know about this tunnel stuff though..like others have said, when are you going to bother seeing designs on the wall when youre flipping at 80 mph? I don't think this is the right ride for visual effects.
  5. X at SFMM, Sunday night, and just barely! Was going to be the last ride of our day and as we were first in line someone in the unloading train had passed out unconscious. They had to shut the whole ride down and check everything and everyone else wanted to leave but I stayed, and after about 60min it reopened and I got to ride one more time! When that ride was over I looked at the line from the exit and no one was there, so I hopped on for one more final ride, in the front row! \m/ What a great way to end the day...
  6. Gonna have to agree. I see a lot of people mentioning X, which is my favorite, but its just sheer excitement and doesn't really get my stomach. I LOVE that first drop when you're face down and then do the front flip ToT gets it several times in one ride since for the most part its enclosed and you can't see when you're going to drop.
  7. I don't see how mealworms is upping the ante..personally I think eating the cockroaches would be worse.
  8. Yeah it could be a better ride but its good to see DK get anything new at all. That park needs a good pull something awful...I live an hour from DK and 6 hours from SFMM but would rather drive to SFMM than DK..and will be in two days
