  1. Put in my $50, really hope it makes it, this looks outstanding.
  2. Jeez..if you're really that rich and entitled just pony up for the Disney VIP guide that skips the lines anyway. I did DLR Anaheim one time with my mom who is legitimately in a wheelchair and I felt bad passing up other people..not only that, Disneyland is the one place where (to a point) the heavily themed queues to me are part of the experience. I felt some rides like Jungle Cruise felt really "empty" when I just walked right on and off again without even seeing any of the set up, even though I had seen it many times before. As long as it's not ridiculous, the anticipation is part of it for me. *This definitely only applies to Disney parks for me..not non-themed six flags parking lot rides
  3. The front is definitely the way to go on X2. That face down first drop in the front row is just other worldly..I never ride any other row regardless of the wait. I hear some people say the inside is smoother, but I dont really notice that much of a difference...but again that might be because I'm always in row one, perhaps there's a much bigger difference in the back.
  4. ^ From what I hear Mooseburger is about the only viable option for eating at the park. I've never had it but I plan on trying it next week.
  5. Definitely a good point, I hear this is especially true on Flight Deck. (Ive only ridden in the front row for FD)
  6. Yep learned that one the old fashioned way. B&M Inverts are awesome but that's the one flaw..the seats are so close together if youre not in the front row all you can see is the back of the seat ahead of you. I've only ridden Batman once and I was somewhere in the middle (it was end of a long day, lines getting long, no FP on batman that day)..Im anxious to ride again in the front to see what the ride is actually like.
  7. I'm planning on going next Sunday & Monday, so I'm really interested in how busy it is today..please come back later and tell me how dead it was
  8. Its a Tuesday so it should be a really nice easy day, you should have no problem getting on everything, you picked a great day to go
  9. I've ridden SUF at SFDK a dozen times and never even noticed them being there, so I'd say they're pretty unobtrusive. These are just a lot more visible.
  10. With these restraints, never; they work really well. These are the same restraints and almost if not completely identical trains as SUF, and if you can do SUF and hang by your knees with no OTSRs, you can do pretty much anything without them. It's hard to see in these photos but it's not just a lap restraint, theres a second part that locks your legs in below the knee. I think we're looking at a future where (at least on sit-down coasters, flyers/wing riders/4D are different) these restraints will be the standard and we don't have to deal with OTSRs anymore. I just hope there's sufficient demand to retrofit existing coasters, starting with Revolution (which doesnt even need better restraints).
  11. A bit surprised not to see Starry Sky Ripper/Scraper/Scrapper on there.
  12. Oops I said cars when I meant to say trains. 2 trains, each with 3 cars of 6 riders. I dont know why Im so prone to mistyping in this thread more than any other.
  13. If anyone is at the park today, the YoloCoaster trains have arrived and are apparently sitting behind Scream, visible from the ride.
  14. It could be this, in Camarillo: http://cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/incidents_details_info?incident_id=780
  15. I've used both platinum and gold, and the gold got me on everything in one day He's talking about X2. You have to have the platinum flash pass and then pay the upcharge to skip the line for X2. When you pick up your flash pass in the morning you can purchase the X2 tickets which would be for a specific time, but unless an event unexpectedly packs the park you probably wont need it. Tuesday night there is a grad night event, so it may get busy towards the end of the day when they start showing up. (which is one of the reasons I'm going on Monday) You can save your cash and hit X2 either first thing in the morning or in the afternoon. The crews on X2 are always among the fastest in the park so by the afternoon the initial rush dies down and the line gets shorter. Here's your best tip regarding use of flash passes and getting everything done in one day - check the list of flash pass rides at the beginning of the day and if there is anything that isnt using flash pass that is also only running one train (like Apocalypse and Scream), hit those rides first. They will rotate which rides use flash pass..last time I was there Riddlers' had only one train and wasn't doing flash pass so I had a pretty long wait.
  16. I recommend riding during the day..the height effect (for me at least) was somewhat diminished at night. The line for it is never that bad, usually 30-45 min at worst. I'll be there on the 20th, maybe I'll run into you. Also note that the Flash Pass doesn't automatically work on X2, you have to purchase flash pass rides for X2 for $15 extra per rider per ride. On the days that you're going, it's not worth it...the lines won't be that bad.
  17. Good news, CGA just posted that they're extending the promo shoot to Friday as well.
  18. ^^ Hopefully that curtails some of the vandalism as well
  19. Row 6 is definitely my favorite. Best mix of air time and G forces.
  20. Yep. At least it's better than "Roller Coaster", if just barely.
  21. Love the Chuck Jones stuff, will have to check that out next time I'm in Vegas!
  22. Apocalypse is the only one I've seen mentioned. Superman and Gold Rusher have been on-and-off due to construction, but that should get better as well since most of the major construction is done.
