  1. Alton's new coaster! (If only... )
  2. I actually liked SFA's Superman, and I rated Batwing as A LOT better than Air, but the park was still DIRE. The park also had the 2 most painful coaster on the trip- Roar and Great Chase. WHY do parks build them god-awful Vekoma Family Gravity Coasters??? Do they not realise that everybody who comes off them needs a new spine afterwards???
  3. So then, how drunk was Robb when he decided to post this?
  4. They've been "planning" to build a coaster on the pier for years and years, but it's never going to happen for a few reasons: 1) It's SOUTHEND. I.e-Absolute dump. I.e-It will get vandalised as soon as it's built. 2) The pier burns down every 15 years (or less) or so anyway. 3) Nobody wants to actually visit Southend, on the basis of it being Southend.
  5. Why anybody would actually WANT to VISIT anywhere in the UK is well beyond my understanding! Anyways, with starting university (hopefully) probably taking away all my time and money (if I had any money in the first place!), 2010 will probably [with the relief of everybody on these boards] have to be a TPR-Trip free year for me. If I was to do one though, I'ld love to do the Oktoberfest.
  6. I think the discussion was serious for about 4 posts before people realised that they didn't actually really care!
  7. I don't get it... How can the management of a theme park close down a fansite???
  8. Would have to be Phoenix at Knoebel's. Awesome park with an awesome ride which I'ld happily ride all day.
  9. Awesome trip report Sam (and all of that shizzle)! I'm still cherishing my "Least likely to return to America" award.
  10. My home park's Adventure Island, and the best ride there is Rage. Hoorah.
  11. Yes!... Unless you're sitting on the back row, in which you're just cramped and nauseous.
  12. I've always wondered how you're supposed to reach the items on the top and bottom shelves.
  13. If I had to pick just one memory, it would have the be the final ERT on Phoenix on the EC tour. Quite simply, awesome.
  14. Whatever it is I'm sure it will be RUBBISH!!! Well they've got a big hill, and a lot of people want them to get a woodie, so my hopes are set high!
  15. I'm most looking forward to the West Coast trip, of course. Secondary mentions go to Saw at Thorpe, Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingoland and FINALLY finding out what Alton's new coaster will be.
  16. http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/history/start/history_early.shtml The first one opened in about 1846, and ran for around 20 seasons. This is also one the the worst coaster quizzes I've ever taken.
  17. The newer video stalled less times, although the stoppages were much longer. By the time it got to 1:39, it had stopped 4 times to load up the next bits. Also, for other streaming sites like Youtube, I use SpeedBit Video Accelerator, which make the videos load in no time at all.
  18. The large video stalled on 9, 18, 26 and 30 seconds, and keeps stalling about every 8 seconds. The small video kept stalling at roughly the same times. The visual quality of both videos were pretty much equal. Also, if it's helpful for you to know, according to http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/, my download speed at the time of testing was about 3000Kbps, and my upload speed about 540Kbps.
  19. You scored 14 right answers out of 20. Boo for random Italian parks.
  20. I'm still getting the problem where I watch a bit, but then the video stalls, then I get to watch a bit more, before it stalls again, and so on...
  21. I'ld hope the drop is good, as Eurofighters tend to get worse from there.

  23. TPR TV for me. That way, it's alliterating.
  24. The top 10 for woodies is very solid in my opinion, although I might switch round El Toro and Boulder Dash. (That's some TPR trip bias working there, eh! I reckon that if we did Boulder Dash ERT in the morning but El Toro ERT in the evening, I'ld probably be ranking Toro higher) However, I've got no idea what Aska is doing up there. I've never really heard of it before anyway, I never here anybody raving on about it and I don't think I've seen it ranked that highly in any polls before, so how does it then become number 7 in apparantely the "most respectable coaster poll there is"? The Steel results, however, are very odd. Superman as the BEST steel coaster in the WORLD??? Also, I've been hearing nothing but Nemesis is getting rougher and rougher this year, yet it still breezes in at 6??? Storm Runner as the 23rd best steel coaster in the world... Errr, I don't think so! Same goes with Volcano at 55??? Did nobody else experience the chairs-of-ultimate-crapness this year, or did I just sit in a "speshal seat" I could probably go like this all down the list, but I think you people catch my drift...
