Favorite Coaster at KD
Mike Austin replied to Thelegendarymatthew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dominator is the only ride in the park that I would even consider riding again (apart from Scooby Doo or that Togo thing, as I never got those credits), so Dominator it is. -
Because I'm THAT desperate? DISCLAIMER- I'm bending over as I was sitting on a slanted wall thing, the picture makes me seem much closer to the antics than I actually was and I wasn't actually staring directly at his arse as I was just glancing over to look at the antic. King's Dominion was so rubbish it was unbelievable.

Debate KK & TTD HERE!

I've ridden Kingda Ka once, whereas I've been on Top Thrill an amzing nought times. Therefore, it is clear that the winner is Kingda Ka. Hurrah. -

I think that's one of the "gayest" poses I've ever seen myself in!... Although my smile doesn't look too natural there. -
You could always do the stereotypical British thing and go to Orlando. Plenty of decent parks around the area, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld, with Busch Gardens not too far away either. Then, if you get bored of the parks, then there's always attraction like the Kennedy Space Centre. If you're looking for soemthing less of a "holiday", and more of a "fantastic adventure", then you can't go wrong with a Theme Park Review trip! Next year they're touring California, Deep South and Texas in America, and Scandinavia for the European trip. This really isn't a holiday though, so be ready for late very late nights, very early mornings and a lot of travelling by coach.

For me, Astroland was my favourite mediocre park by a mile. And now it's closed. -

Pffft, the Bag O' Crap of prizes really were crap, and deserved to be chucked away anyway. Excellent report Adam. I too am liking the elaboration of the day as a whole, and not just masses of random photos. Hersheypark was a decent day, until certain people did things that really annoyed me. I'm sure that before the trip I warned people that I can get emotional very quickly, about really random things, and I think Hersheypark was the second time on the trip that I got emotional. This then caused me to miss out most of the Dorney day. -

I don't know what methods other people use, but what I've done for the past few years, I find extremely easy. Basically: -Copy and paste list into Notepad. -Delete all coasters I've not been on. -Change first "n" column to all "y"s. -Change second "n" column to "y" if ridden in past year. -Start ranking! My finished wood rankings looked like this: [Random information here] COASTER NAME PARK LOC <--Please leave this My Favorite Steel Anypark Anywhere **,y,y,4 Boulder Dash Lake Compounce CT,y,y,1 Wildcat Lake Compounce CT,y,y,15 Gwazi-Tiger Busch Gardens-Tampa FL,y,n,13 Gwazi-Lion Busch Gardens-Tampa FL,y,n,14 Thunderbolt SF New England MA,y,y,24 Cyclone SF New England MA,y,y,17 Roar SF America MD,y,y,31 Wild One SF America MD,y,y,23 Hell Cat Clementon Lake NJ,y,y,10 El Toro SFGAd NJ,y,y,5 Rolling Thunder SFGAd NJ,y,y,22 Great White Wild Wheels Pier NJ,y,y,9 Cyclone Astroland NY,y,y,11 Dragon Coaster Playland NY,y,y,26 Comet Hersheypark PA,y,y,21 Lightning Racer - L Hersheypark PA,y,y,3 Lightning Racer - T Hersheypark PA,y,y,4 Wildcat Hersheypark PA,y,y,8 Phoenix Knoebel's PA,y,y,2 Twister Knoebel's PA,y,y,20 Hurler Kings Dominion VA,y,y,31 Rebel Yell Kings Dominion VA,y,y,29 The Grizzly Kings Dominion VA,y,y,28 Big Dipper Blackpool UK,y,y,18 Roller Coaster Blackpool UK,y,y,12 Grand National Blackpool UK,y,y,7 Wild Mouse Blackpool UK,y,y,25 Zipper Dipper Blackpool UK,y,y,27 Roller Coaster Great Yarmouth UK,y,n,19 Megafobia Oakwood UK,y,y,6 ------------------------------------------------0 <--Please leave this With Notepad, it keeps everything in neat columns itself. If you find this method difficult, then what are you doing on a computer since you don't know know to use Notepad?

I turned my TV on last night at about 1AM in the morning, and turned it onto an old "Extreme Rides" programme. Within five seconds, these 2 mugs flashed across the screen riding on Ghostrider: I would have counted it as subliminal advertising to persuade people to go to Cali, if I didn't notice it. I'm going to try to get my dad to put in the deposit tonight for the WC trip. Hopefully there are still places left.

I'm really in two different minds about whether I should do a trip next year or not. If I do go on a trip (most likely West Coast), then I'll never be able to go on another trip again (unless I suddenly gain lots of money from somewhere), meaning that if a really cool trip like Asia/Europe comes up in '10/'11, I really would be kicking myself. Robb, how quickly do you reckon the places for the American trips will fill up?
