  1. As a volunteer in a Zoo volunteer program - this is something, as a volunteer corps never want to deal with. We're trained and prepared each season to respond and assess different situations. We're given radios to help guests and fellow staff when the occasion and situation needs it or requests that assistance. In all my time volunteering and later on working for the Zoo, this is something I never want to broadcast over staff/volunteer radio. That a visitor grown or young has fallen into an exhibit and has suffered injury/death due to it. I feel bad for the family, but, yet there was probably alot on the parent's behalf that could've been done to prevent this. This is why at the zoo we tell our guests to have their kids off fences and we even remind them if they don't follow our rules. We tell them with a smile "Please step off the ropes/fence. You may hurt yourself or the animals and we don't want more work for our zookeepers!". I want to say something else to some of these parents, but, being a volunteer I have to put on a happy face and tell them politely to get off or climb off whatever they are currently on. It's a shame, but, it's a shame that could've been EASILY avoided had the right decision been made.
  2. I'll hop aboard again for another year - I loved helping out and doing it up last year. So, I'm in!
  3. It's been fairly cold and wet due to Sandy reaching in as far as here. I had to go pick up our porch chairs due to the wind throwing them halfway across our street. Well, doing that in 50 degree weather and in chilling rain is not at all pleasant.
  4. This is going to be great - every one of your works contain epic, CD5. Well, November 15th can't come fast enough can it?
  5. We'll do our best guys! We'll be sure to knock them Giants right off their feet!
  6. I was at ALCS Game Three last night - o' what a night THAT was. I managed to get a beer shower in the 5th inning which lead to an honest to god hilarious exchange afterwards. I posted about it on Facebook, but, will repost it here if people ask enough for it. We won 2-1 - I wouldn't exchange the memories I made last night for anything in the world. It was truly an amazing and awesome time for my dad and myself.
  7. I figured this would be the best place for it. Unless, a moderator wants to message me about making a new thread involving my channel. I'm doing the beginning of a Minecraft Let's Play series and I would like if you could stop by and take a look and watch for me. http://www.youtube.com/user/AutisticMinecrafter
  8. I do have a feeling the Pirates' will do grand and bold next season. Yeah, they had a terrible implosion that is tough to swallow and the organization's fans have had to endure QUITE the torment over the past two decades. I've been a Tiger fan since my family moved to the Detroit area in 1994, I've been with them since that time and honestly they've been the only team I've loyally followed besides the Red Wings and NY Giants in my life. I just have to say, Pirates' fans, take a look at the Tigers' and the fans in Detroit. We had to endure 12 long losing seasons with no remorse in sight - thankfully though, we came through in 2006 by getting to the World Series. We've had success too in 2011 and now this year as well. Don't worry, Pittsburgh, we know that feel. A song that reminds me of what the Tigers' went through and the Pirates are going through still is Rodney Atkins "If you're going through hell". It sums up the losing years and torment quite well in my opinion.
  9. I'm currently in the virtual waiting room on the Detroit Tigers website. Why? I'm looking to purchase tickets to the ALCS and the website is getting slammed with fellow fans hoping to do the same as I will. Get tickets. I do hope to get some, even if they are crap seats.
  10. I rode the ride a few years after the loop was removed. It wasn't much to comment on and it was all levels of rough and bumpy because by that point I think SOB was just on life support. I rode the ride twice, regretted the 2nd time and moved on with my life. It's one of the few rides that I've been on or know of that I will NOT miss when it's totally done and gone. When they decided to give it the initials SOB - they were right, it was an "SOB". *rimshot* *crickets chirp* Ok...that's my cue to leave now.
  11. Miggy gets the Triple Crown and my kitties are headed to home field advantage in the ALDS against the A's. It's gonna be a fun and interesting post-season especially seeing how there's a couple teams that haven't made it back in years. I send congrats to Nats' fans for an amazing regular season in 2012 - but, the journey is not over yet and the best could be yet to come. EDIT: Ok. I'm wrong with the home-field advantage bit - but, I'm still happy my team made it.
  12. I haven't been to a park since July, therefore, the last one I rode was Maverick.
  13. Both views are stunning and wonderful - they say there are some views and places with traveling to see. Those two images show an example of what you can see and look at when you take the risks and travel. As for them being on roller coasters - that just makes it even MORE beautiful and scenic. Those are a reason why I should travel more with TPR, because, you might just never know what'll come up or what you will see.
  14. Granted, but Cedar Point slowly falls into disrepair. I wish I had a job. (ok, have fun with this one guys. xD )
  15. Granted, but a company called "Wing Wing Dork a Dong Dong" will keep that horrible legacy alive in other ride related methods. I wish pigeons didn't crap on people because they eat breadcrumbs.
  16. Granted, but there are now stupid park ride operators. I wish popsicles didn't melt so fast.
  17. I've ridden up to 200 coasters to this date. I'm thrilled that DT was one of the first I ever got on, this ride helped me to conquer my fears of coasters growing up. Now that it's being removed - I am dearly thankful I got to ride it when I could despite the 15-30 minute waits I pushed through to ride. I managed to ride it a couple of times before it closed on July 10th. Disaster Transport may have been a cheesy ride towards the end of it's life, but, I am forever grateful of the memories it has given me over the past several years.
  18. Ferris wheels - I described it to Jo and Shawn yesterday. I was with a group of friends at the Michigan State Fair back around 2004 or 2005 - they had to split the 5 of us up. My friends, being the jerks they are made me ride alone as a prank. Well, I did and I managed to get the non-stop creaking and moving car on the wheel. I came off crying and I've never gone to another fair with them again - they apologized because they thought I'd laugh and find it funny. Well, it wasn't. Jerks.
  19. I remember one of the more random names a Cedar Point flat ride had at one point was "Dodgem 2". Yes. You read that right!
  20. I'm really not going to miss Space Spiral - I haven't been on that since 2001-2002. It was one of the few rides I rode when I was deathly afraid of coasters when I was a kid. In 2002, after I rode MF - that all changed and Space Spiral went to the wayside on the list of rides that I do now as opposed to then. As for Disaster Transport? I'm very 50/50 on it - It was one of the first big rides I ever had been on and also I like it to the extent of how sci-fi fans have cult classic movies they like. Well, that might not be the best word choice, but I'm really drawing up a blank for the words to use in the creative department about the ride. I will miss the ride for the air conditioning though, haha, that was the best part of the ride. Who cared about the capacity? At least you got to stand in there in the cool air for 30 minutes to an hour - on really hot Sandusky days and nights, that was a blessing. Thanks for the memories, SS and DT.
  21. RD - are we going to see the full showcase of rides you've built up for download? Because, whenever you put production wrap on this project or showcase. I would like to take a good looksie myself and see what you've scouted up and done - plus, you still owe me that explanation of a Katapult recreation.
  22. Belmont Park and Cedar Point - the only two parks I've been to. Who knows though, there's a lot of summer left ahead and I just have to see where everything rolls out from here.
  23. KT just has a look on her face of "I am not amused!" and "Meh, it's just Rome." Rome is indeed a place I need to find my way to in the future. I've been to Europe before, but mostly to France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. I totally never went to the more southern parts of it. Well - there's still time, just need to properly plan and invest money into the concept and I'll be there someday.
  24. It looks like you're having an amazing time in Italianland - Thanks for sharing these updates. With every trip, I love to follow them and keep up to date with every trip's fun and insanity. I look forward to more! EDIT: realized only now I forget the word time in one of the sentences. Fail!
