Brent, way to keep the sarcasm and random innuendo pumping up to the final page! Honestly, I’m still laughing inside at the whole life-size carving of RA as a consolation gift at Knoebels. I wish I had the chance to use up all my tickets but I had quite a few leftover. I suppose it gives the perfect reason to head back down to Knoebels and use them all up on the Phoenix. Like Matt ^ said ,great report and thanks for delaying it for whatever reasons to help us all re-live this almost a year later. R&E did a fantastic job. We’ll be something in Scandi..just don’t know about the randi part unless those modeling fine Scandinavian automobiles at the Geneva car show are indicative of the Scandi theme/ amusement park loving population. Coasters will be occupying our minds after all! -

Brent, great TR as always Phoenix.....ah, that truly was a terrific way to end the trip. I had never been on anything like it. I loved our field trip in the middle of the day but it definitely proved that you can spend a whole day at the park and still have stuff leftover to do. Our group didn't get to everything that we wanted. Repeat visit anyone? Look forward to part B. -

Shane, that's amazing stuff, thank you! I really enjoyed the Cyclone at SFNE. It's cool how you can still see the original drop, they just painted it all white to hide it. Thanks to CS for pointing that out when we were there. It's an intense ride. I can only imagine how crazy it must have been with the original drop. -

Brent, Great TR, I’m definitely looking forward to DVD more than ever now. It’s funny, family in Europe beg for me to bring over Hershey chocolate, something about the American chocolate taste? I dunno. I guess when you don’t have something as readily available, it becomes desirable. I would still rate Hershey as one of the top American chocolates as opposed to say, some of the seasonal candy companies currently laying sub-par Easter Eggs all over the continent. I just loved how the ride ops and staff at Clementon would cut in front of everyone and take the best seats on the flat rides before letting everyone else on. What gives? Hellcat (name?) was a blur but it was fast and fun, same with running to the bus. Was that the night when we hit that insane traffic? The park did have charm, even the accurately themed lake water log flume…..just close your mouth on that one. lol Not sure what to think of Hershey other than I remember it being insanely busy and each line being slower than waiting for oil paint to dry. The only ride that was down I think was the mine train. That amazing bbq place was next to it, what an awesome smell. The coasters though were all a lot of fun, definitely a well-rounded park. That was my first non-portable Schwarzkopf and I can’t wait to ride another one I guess in Georgia, Texas or Edmonton? I assume we’ll have some on Scandi? Oh, you’re right about the roller soaker thing, but a few of us had a blast staying dry and taking over the water cannons. You can time and fire them just so that they hit right under everyone’s ponchos…… Can’t wait to see the rest man. Cheers, J -

Brent, thanks for keeping this going man! Love re-living this stuff! ^lol Sam, I can't wait for that either. Although, it could be possible for 'that park' to be like Busch again. Did you see the KD stuff from Shane's thread? It did seem to have quite a bit of charm. Maybe we were there on a very off day, who knows? lol So yah, back to Busch, amazing day! The water rides were crazy and what a line up of coasters! Big Bad Wolf at night again anyone?? Brent, thanks again and looking forward to seeing the rest. Cheers, J -
That was something awesome, thanks for sharing! Wow, talk about how memories of seeing that movie and loving it as a kid just came flooding back. Plus, it is a pretty cool car! Ok, maybe I'm a geek and still really like the movie and the car lol I remember seeing the car for the first time at Universal in Florida but that was pre-BTTF ride. Ryan - enjoy the car, restoring one you love is a ton of work but completely worth it.

Operating season usually starts in mid-May on weekends with full daily operations starting around late June, usually around the 20th. I wouldn't plan anything until they set their hours if you're planning to attend during the week. Also, the park is always busy given its city location. A good time is going when they forecast rain since it fills up a bit later during those days. Check out cwmania.com for more info on the park. Thanks for thinking of us up here!

Ah....memories Thank goodness for the Burger Kings..made the night lol You have to admit, the place sure had a one-of-a-kind vibe. I mean...too tall to ride the mouse at 5'10'', the turbo-charged whip and horse race people were just plain yelling at everybody lol Brent, wasn't Flo Rida playing the next night or the night before? -
Sam, you got a pic of the "This Ride is Dark and Dynamic" Patriot's Plunge! haha That white one was insane. I remember the locker fun and how crazy it was trying to figure out how to get to the slides that we wanted to go to. Definitely a lot of fun though. Hmm....Talon..amazing. Maybe I'm one of a very few but I really liked Hydra. I think there were only 4 of us on it during ERT on any one train. Riding it in the dark made it that much more fun as well. Cool update!

TPR TV or CoasterTube
rollin_n_coastin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First off, Robb, an awesome site! Personal thoughts: -If you're searching for a coaster POV or video, you're most likely a coaster-oholic. -If you are a coaster-oholic, you will most likely try to find every piece of information available and click on any link, especially if it is well placed in the search engine, which TPR always is in -- usually in a top four position from my experience. -If the name isn't familiar, I would personally read the description, which I'm sure would be tagged to capture "Theme Park Review TV", making it obvious that I can find coaster and other related content in there. -Ensuring that TPR is in the name will really build brand strength because honestly, coaster-oholics will potentially click on all links and when clicking on TPR TV, will discover the quality of both the site and content and I'm sure the site will allow people who discover it to interchange TPR TV as Theme Park Review TV. -Having TPR in the name also says that it isn't all about coasters, which I think is a good thing as I'd for sure want to stay and search for different types of content related to the industry. Anyways, after all that yes, I'm a coaster and theme park-oholic and I did choose TPR TV. Have you thought of TP TV? Wishing you much success with the new site, regardless of what it will end up being called. -
^^^^First off my apologies if I missed it but I totally must have--where in the latest article did it say that the project was dead? Isn't it just delayed? Yes, a delay on a massive project like this can last 5 to 8 years. Of course a senator who is completely against the park and voted against the special tax district law would comment on his assumption that it would fail. So one of many partners didn't return calls. If I was the paper, I would have tried calling another one of the many partners because obviously I've been calling the wrong one -- the partner that isn't the managing partner or doesn't deal with PR. I'm not commenting on whether it's a great idea or not but it just seems like it is only delayed at this time, pending that seed money as mentioned above. They need to raise it by 2016 before the special tax district law expires. Right now, I agree that it doesn't look too good. However, 2016 is a long way away and anything can happen. Look what happened in only the 3rd quarter of this year.

Knoebels Discussion Thread
rollin_n_coastin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^I definitely see your point. I remember seeing it on "coaster of the week" and it seemed like a really cool retro piece still showing off what the 50's was all about with that train design. I really thought nothing of it, until actually riding the thing! 'Surprised' only begins to describe it, it was insane in only the best way possible. I'm so happy to have had a chance to ride it and like everything at Knoebels, it was crazy, unique and way too much fun! I have every confidence that they'll replace it with something just like it, even if safer Oh, let's all keep our fingers crossed for Flying Turns! Maybe 2009 will be the year? -

^haha I remember that! Too funny, as if Robb was going to have a 1,000 printed and sold next door. Absolutely one of my favorite stops on the trip. Did you go on the pirate ride? It was one of the strangest moments for sure. Great pics again and thanks for bringing back the memories!
