  1. I'm anxious to re-visit this park now that some of the small changes have gone in. Now that my job is based in Birmingham, I expect that I'll be buying a season pass and putting together a trip report.
  2. Screamer on my first ride on something.... Giggler on next ride... Mixture of giggling and silence on subsequent trips.
  3. Steve... It was FABULOUS to meet you. Thanks for teachin' me how to get the BEST ride out of Intimidator. I am ABSOLUTELY going to test this on Goliath at SFOG! Looking forward to seeing you and Andrew really soon.
  4. Doesn't Libya have a national law that prohibits all things... well... fun?
  5. My experiences are kinda limited compared to some of my friends on here. As far as the coasters that I've had an opportunity to ride, I'd have to say that Boulder Dash @ Lake Compounce gave the best "wood air" since GCI re-profiled the ride. Thunderhead at Dollywood comes close. If El Toro was a TRUE Wood, it would probably be her, but I feel like I'm doing my personal romance with woodies a disservice by including El in much of any analysis. Up through this last weekend, I was sold on the idea that, out of the ones that I've experienced, Goliath at SFOG gave the best air. NOW... I have to say that I have a total love affair with Intimidator at Carowinds. I thought that during East Coast 2008 that Nitro would have really have impressed me more than it did, but I'm glad that I didn't end up having to choose between three.
  6. Okie.... I'll resurrect this.... I'm starting to use RSS feeds more and more being that I am so freakin busy all day long. I can't possibly visit all the websites that I would like to or need to. With RSS Feeds, I can get information right into Outlook which I pretty well have up ALL.... DAY.... LONG. Yeah this is a busy forum, but an RSS feed COULD make sense for some. Judging from the comments left in this thread a couple years ago, I guess it's a matter of the needs of the few versus the needs of the many.
  7. "Well technically, it's locked.... " -uttered by an unnamed ride op at an unnamed park at an unnamed ride when asked by a fellow ride op if one of my fellow TPR members could ride with 1 click on the lap bar.
  8. I've been skimming through some older topics to find something that peaked my interest in the off season. I had totally forgotten that this was out here, so I'm bumping it. I've been involved in some kind of music since I was 8 years old. I studied Jazz Improv at Auburn University and did a dual major in Trumpet and French Horn. I've played with a bunch of groups over the last 15 years including the Callenwold Symphonic Band in Atlanta, GA, The Sentemantal Journey Orchestra in Doraville, GA, and have done guest spots with David Osborne, John McAndrew, and Pat Upton and the Downtown Horns. I taught high school band and choir at Shaw High School in Columbus, GA for a year and decided that it wasn't for me. About 7 years ago, I pick-up guitar for the first time and have been self-teachning myself. I currently play with a folk group here in Savannah and I'm the artist-in-residence at a local church here. I'm in the process of cutting a demo CD and have some songs recorded already. I have a Tanglewood 12-String (which are the only good guitars they make) An Alvarez DY-55 12-String and a Fender 6-String Acoustic. No electric for me, though I've been thinking about buying an entry level one just to have it for accents in the recordings. If anyone in GA reads this, I'm looking for a group to get together with and jam for a little while.
  9. Monster Fan: Do you have any follow-up on this? I'm looking for the same thing. I'm in the initial planning stages for a musicians forum for Coastal Empire/Low Country. Trying to decide whether or not to do a forum similar to TPR or a Joomala site.
  10. ^ Might remember when forum boards were invented. (circa 1890 - think cork board) < Is old enough to remember when Coke actually tasted good v Is old enough to know better but too young to care.
  11. was it broken? The other end of that joke can't be posted here because it would be just SLIGHTLY outside of PG-13 LOL

  22. Yes, but not often. I've never microwaved a colddog either. I have heard of people microwaving wetcats and angrygerbils. You're gearing up for a last minute romantic encounter. You realize that you are ill-prepared and need to make a trip to your local Wal-Mart Supercenter. You arrive only to find that all the parking spaces are taken with the exception of one handicap space near the grocery entrance. You're not handicapped. Your pal is going to arrive at your house in less than 20 minutes. Would you park in the space?
  23. The zipline was so cool! It takes place on a course with 3 platforms. Each line on each platform increases in length and speed. One gets a really good view of the park below. The thrill is like no other.
  24. I wish they had let us take a camera on the zipline with is. All we have is snapshots.
