One degree and a ten feet here or there isn't very noticeable or enough to get excited about. They all sound kinda puny next to MF's 300 ft 80 degree drop anyway.

Yep - it's silly to say hypers can't be original. Hypers are essentially huge steel versions of wood coasters. While most have been essentially out and back designs, there is no reason why the layouts can't be just as original as those of wood coasters, and more so. However, while Diamondback isn't as groundbreaking as the Beast was in its day, it's a good solid addition to the park and sorely needed. It's the ride they should have built instead of SoB (IMO).

Very cool Schwarzkopf pics. I've never seen that suspended coaster model before, very strange looking.

For anyone that missed this, like me, it should repeat on 8/15 6pm eastern. There is also an "Extreme Waterparks" episode on 8/13 at 9pm.

They should put these trains on all of those old headbanging Arrow/Vekoma loopers. Give them a new lease on life.

MF, TTD, Mav. #4 would be Magnum circa 1990. It was pretty damn rough the last time I rode it though. Either it's getting old or I am.

I will say that that working scale model in the Ch. 5 video is pretty damn cool. I want one of those. They really are pulling out the stops on the marketing for this ride.

It does look very Nitro-ish, complete with a killjoy MCBR, my least favorite "feature" on Nitro. It should be fun, though, and the splashdown is a nice touch. (Too bad it's not an Intamin. The world needs more Intamin hypers.)
