  1. I road Boulder Dash last season and it was fun, but the potholes were nasty. Looks like I've got to finagle a visit to LC this season to see what it's really about.
  2. Why? It wasn't even a coaster. I probably would think twice about getting on this particular drop tower, but that's just me.
  3. I noticed that last night - I went to the website looking for stats and it was already gone! (assuming it was there to start with). Very interesting.
  4. Loose park ride cable blamed for girl’s maiming http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070622/ZONE06/70622013
  5. This is about sensationalism, not politics. If CNN had called him looking for the same angle they'd deserve just as much criticism. My dig on the "fair and balanced" slogan was completely valid in this respect.
  6. ^ And if you do go to SFNE, you can stop by Lake Compounce and ride Boulder Dash.
  7. Mindbender has always been my favorite ride at that park. Of course I haven't been since before Goliath was installed.
  8. I actually liked ME, and rode it twice. I loved it at night with all of the neon lights of the strip all around. I much preferred it to the Arrow travesty down the road known as Desperado.
  9. El Toro. Holy carp what a horrible stapling experience. (at least not unless I lose 20 lbs or so)
  10. Nice TRs. I was there with my daughter on 6/18, we had a good time. We ended up stopped for an hour on I-195 with the accident only to have to turn around, and then had to try to find my way to the park without a map or any knowledge of the area at all. Fortunately we made it by 10:30. ERT would have been nice - but El Toro and I didn't get along anyway.
  11. Great Escape: 45 minutes SFNE: 1.5 hours Lake Compounce: 2.5 hours La Ronde: 3.5 hours* SFGAdv: 3.75 hours Dorney Park: 4 hours* Darien Lake: 4.5 hours* Knoebels: 4.5 hours* Hersheypark: 5 hours* * Have yet to visit, but looking forward to them all
  12. I don't want to see any clones, instead I'd rather see similiar class rides with different layouts by the same designers. Cloned coasters are seldom identical experiences anyway.
  13. All of the airtime hills on SROS: SFNE
  14. I don't think they have the right to search the car. But they do have the right to refuse your entry into the park if you don't cooperate.
  15. Thanks for the TR. It looks like I'm going to visit GAdv on the 18th for the first time. Although it looks like B:TC may not be running by then, a shame 'cause that side looks much more interesting than the Robin side. Anybody think a gold q-bot is overkill or a necessity for a Monday?
  16. Hi, I'm Greg. A relative old fart compared to most of you it looks like. Recently moved to the Northeast from coaster-deprived Arizona last year, and I'm rekindling my love for roller coasters that I cultivated growing up in Ohio, and now I'm getting my daughter hooked as well. "Home park" for us is Great Escape (45m minutes), but SFNE is only an hour and a half away. It looks like we may be visiting SFGAdv for the first time on Monday. My track record is at about 81 I think. Oh, I'm a software engineer.
  17. "Something random" haha! I'll bet I was the first to think of that one.
  18. I had to add some weight to the older end of the scale 40 yrs old. My first ever coaster was the Screamin' Demon (Arrow Shuttle Loop) at Kings Island 30 years ago. 2nd coaster was the KI Racer the same day. I've been more or less hooked since, and now I'm hooking at least one of my kids.
