  1. Note to all UK trip participants: Look what we gave up! Not enough true Credit Whores in the group. Sheesh! It looks like a nice little park, Tinhead. It's always good to get info on these 'other ' parks around the world. Thanks!
  2. Er, SteelPeppe, I live in Japan right now! My next trip to Fuji-Q should be at the end of June, while my next trip will be next weekend, I'm going to Parque Espana and Higashiyama Zoo. I may be going into Tokyo on the 29th of this month to revisit Yomiuriland and get a status update on Halfpipe. PM me, and we can chat about meeting up!
  3. Turtleggjp: Sounds good. Now we have to ride it to be sure! SteelPeppe2000: Thanks, that's almost exactly what my wife said. She translated the www.eejanaika.jp website for me too. PS: You B@$t@rd! You get to ride before me! PPS Any word on SD2K's supposed reopening? Kumba9: Thanks for the compliments!
  4. I was able to resize the file using Windows Movie Maker (Thanks, Erik) but I'm getting an error when I try to upload the file.
  5. Noparoni! Would you own a Tarantula or Scorpion as a pet?
  6. That's cool, Robb, I realize you are pretty busy dealing with the aftermath of Fantazy Land, Midwest Wood, E3, Tatsu Campout, as well as getting ready for the TPR UK trip! By 'mentioning' that you have the video here, it's like blackmailing you into helping me share it with the world! What software do you use to resize video? Maybe I have it and don't know or can obtain it and start filling up the Amateur Video board with my stuff!
  7. I've Got So Much To Give Barry White
  8. On a related note, Robb, would you like me to try to edit down my Eejanaika video and post it, will you post it for me, or can you resize it to fit under 30mb? Thanks!
  9. WOW! Wes went there!
  10. First up, SFNE isn't really near Boston. Lake Compounce and 6FNE could theoretically be done in one day, but 6FNE would have to be pretty dead. (I hit Knight Flight and bailed for LC once, it isn't very far, maybe 45 minutes to an hour.) A better idea is to give 6FNE it's own day and do LC and Quassy together in a day. "Must-see" within two hours of Boston depends on what you like. If you are only interested in amusement parks, then there's nothing really near Boston. Canobie Lake is less than 2 hours away. Pirates Fun Park is awful. There's stuff in NH and ME that's right around the 2 hour mark from Boston. If you really like history, there's more "must-see" stuff than you can fit into a month long visit. Standard touristy highlights (to me) include: USS Constitution Bunker Hill Memorial Heck, the whole Freedom Trail is actually quite interesting and it includes both ^ & ^^ as well as Fanueil Hall, the New England Aquarium, Boston Common, The Olde North Church, Paul Revere's House, The Boston Massacre Site and a lot of other things. Boston Museum of Science Boston Children's Museum Plymouth Plantation Heritage site is about 30 minutes south of Boston, and you can see the real Plymouth Rock. (The biggest let down I've ever experienced! It's kind of a joke amongst those of us from MA.) Olde Sturbridge Village is popular. Salem, MA has lots of interesting things from the Witch Trials period. You must try New England Clam Chowder. Fried clams are also pretty popular 'local' cuisine, as are steamers, lobster and other seafood. That should serve you for a starting point. Token Yankee and CanobieFan SHOULD chime in here with opinions, too.
  11. It is really hard not to hold on during Dodonpa's launch. I've done it, but it isn't fun. It is really, really difficult to keep your arms from flailing backwards. (I couldn't do it.) I just hold on now, and raise my arms after the catch car releases and the acceleration is finished. At 0-106.9mph in 1.8 seconds, this launch is far more forceful than TTD. I haven't been on KK, so I can't compare that. DDP's launch is actually at a lot of people's pain threshold. I've always described it as feeling like I just got kicked in the chest.
  12. Everybody rips White Canyon. OK, yeah, it's rough. I knid of like it. Not enough people rip SL Coaster! That 's two, yes two, helixes, interrupted by about 4 too many brakes and the world's slowest lift hill. Ugh! EDIT: You probably didn't run into me here. I haven't made it inside the gate at Yomiuriland since last year. I've arrived within 15 minutes of the park closing three times this year trying to get the stupid Wan Wan Coaster Wandit credit as a side trip on other trips!
  13. Mice Eat Cheese Modest Mouse
  14. Robb: Gabloogedy... Kid: AAAAAAAAHRGH! MOM! GET ME AWAY FROM THIS GUY! HELP! POLICE!
  15. Which means he probably just hasn't seen it yet. He was talking (in another thread) about a job he was travelling to New York for. He may have already left, and might not have had time to get on TPR.
  16. Thanks Olov! There's room for an element like that! Somewhere in there, I have a seat rotation wrong. Hmm... Where's all the X junkies when you need one?
  17. I can't believe I drove past Holiday World. I need to get to Holiday World. I can't believe I drove past Holiday World. I need to get to Holiday World. I can't believe I drove past Holiday World. I need to get to Holiday World. I can't believe I drove past Holiday World. I need to get to Holiday World. I can't believe I drove past Holiday World. I need to get to Holiday World. At least I'll get to Holiday World NEXT year. Thanks for the tease, you big lug!
  18. Relax! I'm sure Guy will let you know either way! If you are worried, in the future, you could PM the persons in your comic and get their opinions first. I think it's better this way! Besides, as long as you don't actually mean anyone harm, all should be forgiven!
  19. Hey, Tim! 'Tsup? ^^ I was there jsut for a construction update, so I didn't stray to far from Eejanaika. I think I saw you between the Shoot the Chutes and the Hamtaro Swinging Ship. Was it just the two of you?
  20. The only reason Guy might not have liked it, is you made Kim Possible show interest in Lil' Robb! Oh, and maybe the suggestion that he's not all there! Don't worry, Guy, Kim won't leave you for Robb!
  21. I've been in touch with Duane about the inversions / elements on Eejanaika. I know that the overbank does not completely invert, so that doesn't count. I'm not sure why he's not counting the Full-Full. There is also a small problem in the apparent order of the elements: The seats should be returning return to the station right-side-up based on the APPARENT order of elements. The problem is that with the elements seen thus far, the track / cars will be coming back inverted. Explanation: (Orientation of seats and train at the end of each element, based on appearance of tracks currently installed.) Train departs station: Seats Right-Side-Up, (RSU) Train RSU Lift hill: Seats RSU, Train RSU Dip-vertical drop-pull out: Seats Up-Side-Down, (50%) Train RSU Inside Raven Turn: Seats RSU (100%), Train USD Full-Full: Seats RSU (0%), Train USD Overbank: Seats RSU (0%), Train USD Half-Half: Seats RSU (50%), Train RSU Outside Raven Turn: Seats RSU (0%) Train USD Brake run: Seats RSU (0%) Train USD Unless they are going to squeeze a fly-to-lie inbetween the Outside Raven Turn and the Brake run, this is looking weird! There might be enough room, but it's going to be TIGHT! Does anybody see something in my pictures I'm not noticing? Since I've never been on X, nor seen it in person, a lot of this is speculation based on my ASSumptions of how the 4D system works. Help will be grealy appreciated!
  22. I am ambivalent about FUji-Q. Since I had to return to the park three times, just to get all the credits, I'm not too impressed. They do shut down the two main coasters (Dodonpa and Fujiyama) at the slightest hint of wind or rain, but a lot of the parks in Japan do that. (But not all! I rode Through the Woods Jet Coaster and Mad Mouse @ Hitachi Kaihin Koen in a downpour!) The theming, what little there is is decrepit. The throuput is terrible on several of the rides. (Hamster coaster and Dodonpa are the worst!) However, I have had a couple good days where everything was open and ruunning. The dark walkthrough attractions are actually pretty good. The food is good. etc. I generally enjoy my visits to the park. I'm not looking forward to the Eejanaika line, though! It lookslike a single load / unload station, and if they run two trains, there's going to be a LOT of stacking! (Jeezus Juice liked Fuji-Q! He said so!)
  23. Wow! Over 100,000 views! No wonder the site's been acting up!
  24. You better hurry. Nara Dreamland isn't going to be around much longer. I believe it will be closing forever after August this year!
  25. OK, Wes wins the Vault war. (What's Vault?) The burrito looked pretty tasty. More of a salsa person that hotsauce, (they both last forever, don't they?) but definitely yummy! I cook too much! I usually make enough for me, the wife, the neighborhood strays, etc...
