  1. I found more construction pictures on this page: http://www.ameworld.net/forum/walygator-parc-arrivee-monster-coaster-b-m-t19434-page-1320.html&s=4116e4f7b09740af393e14896d7ff68a
  2. I would say, if you're a seasonal park and you're packing in 3 Million... you're doing a heck of a fine job. Cedar Point is a great example of the 8% drop because there are a few major factors: • Job losses in all THREE of its closest markets - Detroit, Cleveland and Toledo • Rainier weather • Shorter season by 8 days (I think that's what it came out to) • No major attraction for the second year in a row (Not saying 2008's Planet Snoopy wasn't major.. it seemed to be a quiet addition) • Remember also that they had high numbers the prior season, and before that. When it comes to seasonal parks, Wonderland, Cedar Point Kings Island and Busche Gardens are tops.
  3. Now that Cedar Fair have moved on past the sale, I believe we'll see more and more improvements/changes happening at a faster rate company-wide... with the big things being Son of Beasts fate and the future of Great America. Too bad they couldn't have held onto Geauga Lake... that really hurt me.
  4. Redfoot is right, you would have to include this with a few other parks to make the drive worth it. Camden is not all that far from Kings Island and Coney Island. Their Rockin Tug, named "Camden Princess" is up on their Facebook Page now. It looks good.
  5. Very nice! I love your composition. One of the better PTR's on here. You should shoot flat rides, too.
  6. So, as of today, the Camden Home page a nice image of a Rockin Tug which shows up and then disappears, but this ride is not listed under "new for 2010" yet. I think the cat may be out of the bag, though.
  7. • ALF: The Ride • The Office - Escape from Dunder Mifflin • The SNL Backstage Pass Ride • Fraiser: The Spinoff • 60 Minutes - The second hands revenge Actually, in all seriousness a Transformers the Ride was what I had hoped for years... and maybe Dukes of Hazzard
  8. The ride racked on the Blue Trailer is the parks Chance Flying Bobs/Avalanche. Ths ride too has been put up for sale with the Octopus. Thanks for the Thomas Town Construction pics, We'll see if they can make the Memorial Day deadline Shapiro wants. If the weather holds out, it should happen... especially if all the utilities are done now. What is in the place of the Cyclone now? I thought it used to be near the Wild One.
  9. Camdens webite mentions a new ride in 2010 For those of you who don't know, Camden Park is located in West Virginia. Being WV's only park, It is home to the 1950's Big Dipper and also a wooden Little Dipper. Even though a relatively small park, they have the typical old-school stuff like a Flying Scooter (new in 2006), Sky Ride, Ferris Wheel, Caterpillar (without a canvas), Sky Diver, Scrambler, Kite-Flyer, Spider, Whip, Paratrooper, an awesome Log Flume, Train, Swan Boats, Paratrooper, Carousel, Bumper Cars, Gravity-Propelled Dark Ride and a bunch of kiddie rides. The park has a substantial amount of picnic pavilions and is home to an Indian Mound. Another piece of noteworthy information is that The former Demon (Arrow Shuttle) from Kings Island used to operate here. It was removed around 2003 after being SBNO for a number of years. Link: http://www.camdenpark.com/new.html I hope its a Giga! But I'd be happy with a Yo-Yo or Disk-O
  10. Ricky Bobby on the other hand, doesn't have any sponsors because he races for "Me"
  11. This Tilt A Whirl Replaced the one heavily damaged from the Flooding and Hurricane
  12. The Scorpion is actually a Venture "Cobra". I hope you got a ride on it, they are pretty rare rides nowadays.
  13. I thought someone said the Rotoshake was removed. You can see it in the second picture.
  14. Frankly, I would have preferred if this ride went up at Great Escape. Oh well... at least it'll get a second life.
  15. The Zipper has no Individual lap bar/seat mold and it's aggressive enough where some folks have slid around a bit on it. So Chance made it a requirement to have 2 riders on All Zippers. So if you want to ride a Zipper, make sure you have a buddy.... or watch for someone single in line. Chance allows no single riders on the Wipeout, either.
  16. The Avalanche Coaster used to run at Geauga Lake as "The Cyclone" and at Holiday World as "The Firecracker" That was a pretty awesome midway, I hope we see some of those rides back up at the Ohio State Fair as Belle City is one of our suppliers.
  17. When your talking a wood coaster, does any part of it last more than say, 30 years? (aside from the trains) How much of the original Leap the Dips is still around? Just the design, right?
  18. ^ That makes sense. I guess they are pretty problematic rides, though. Our local carnival sold theirs and I've seen quite a few used ones for sale online
  19. That KMG Spinout was missing 2 arms and a total of 8 seats... crazy!
  20. False and False, Borrega. I don't think Superman ever made it more than 80% up that tower. Anyone else confirm?
  21. What are guests saying? Is this a real annoyance, or are they dealing and looking forward to the changes? I feel that they should have gotten The seating area done before they closed off the mermaid site so you wouldn't have had walls on both sides of you. That looks to be the worst part. The last time I was there was in Nov 2008 right after they drained the Bay and closed the Wheel. I think the walls were up in the games area, though.
  22. Not opening this year either: http://www.funspotpark.com/ Due to further budget cuts, they eliminated saying "due to the economy" this year.
  23. They are adding a major expansion to their waterpark this year, too. They should be okay, hopefully no major ride components were stored in those buildings
  24. It took 3 or 4 years before they invested heavily into Michigan's Adventure, and that was due to the city wanting more money on water usage.. or something like that. Dorney Park had problems as well with them trying to get Steel Force up. Just another hurdle... it won't be the last.
  25. Its okay, Rob! Sea Dragon was down for part of the summer last year I heard, (I never made it over there to see) so maybe Duane hasn't heard that it did in fact reopen.
