I think this will be a pivotal year for the future of SFA. A "new" coaster always will bring in new guests, or guests that return when a new coaster is built. SFA really gained some popularity at least in my area when they went on the run of building coasters from 99 to 01. I REALLY hope the service improves for the park this year, and the attendance numbers reflect that. I doubt I'll like the ride, judging from my experience on Vortex at Carowinds, but from the park's standpoint this is a much bigger deal than a relocated 20 year coaster.

Honestly, I'm very excited for this ride. I think I've finally given up complaining about every little detail of recently announced coasters. I mean, it's a 300 foot cosater for a park who's best coaster 5 years ago was an Arrow. I just think CW is a different park. It's so darn big and gets so much attendance I'm sure it can support lines for two amazing coasters which are very similar. And imagine a GP (or enthusiast for that matter) going to the park, riding Behemoth and then getting even more excited for Leviathon. And personally, I HATE statistics and am not the biggest B&M fan, but I think it is awesome that they finally went over 300. This is easily my most anticipated B&M coaster in the last 10 years. Just when we were all starting to complain about B&M megas being similar, they give us this. I think its awesome... I mean, personally I'd rather go to CW and ride both of these beasts in the same day, paying the one admission, compared to going to Carowinds and SFOG to ride two even more similar rides, paying for 2 park admissions, gas, etc. Just one way to look at it.

Brings back good memories of a TPR trip long ago. I thought MFI was a great little park! I hope to go there again sometime.

"Old Alabama" Brad Paisley and Alabama

This was a great flume ride and one of the most unique rides at SFA, a park full of clones. Sad to see it go, but the ride had so many problems with staying open. I've been to SFA 5 or 6 times and only got to ride it on one occasion. The first time that day we were evacuated after burning in the sun for 15 minutes and the second time we were stuck at the top of the last drop for 5 minutes with kids screaming in the seats in front of us. I'm not sure why the ride has so many problems...it was the only Intamin in my limited experience that truly lived up to the "Intamin curse."

Those pictures of Rips brought back memories. They used to have a Rips where I grew up in Waldorf, MD, but I believe it closed a few years ago. I haven't eaten there for at least 10 years. Not that I actually remember how good the food was, but it brings back some good memories. The one in Waldorf had a sit-down restaurant and a fresh seafood market.

Knoebels is a sure thing for a good time any day you go, any time of year, in any weather. SFGAd has the best coaster collection I've ever experienced, but in the summer time crowds are terrible in good weather. In bad weather, not all the rides run. Dorney is a very average park with a few good coasters, and a good water park. Considering how close together those three parks are, the areas couldn't be anymore different: Knoebels in charming rural PA, SFGAd in suburban NJ but attracts many guests from the Philly and NYC metro, and Dorney in a rust-belt type area. I would pick Knoebels...though I do consider SFGAd one of my favorite parks. When I was younger, I went to Knoebels and Dorney with my mom (not the biggest coaster rider), and for some odd reason, she liked Dorney better. If your parents like to sit in the sun or swim in a big wave pool, Dorney might be best for them. Knoebels has so much for the whole family: shows, food, train rides, museums, golfing, camping, etc. SFGAd has a waterpark and safari park with separate admission. Still, I just can't say enough how much better the overall experience of Knoebels is for anyone age 1-100.

QFT!! I think I read some where once that in a perfect world Mitch would like to have every coaster rated and no categories, but it's simply too overwhelming to make comparisons with any much more than the number of entries the poll already has. If a ride is going to be in the top 20 or 30 of the poll like a mega lite or a B&M hyper then they might as well get credit for being their own separate coaster IMO. I mean the best "category" looks like Batman Clones at 78 unless I miss something.

I've got to admit I'm really surprised to see I305 so high. The ride obviously has plenty of supporters, but took so much heat last year it's hard to believe it finished third! ^Haha I've been saying for years they all ride about the same. I agree with those rankings!!!

I also like how older Schwarzkopf loopers seem to feel much more out-of-control and much less predictable than newer loopers. I only got to ride Mindbender once or twice, but during ERT on Shockwave sometimes back to back rides in the same seat felt a little different. And the airtime was scary sometimes! It's definitely not like airtime on a B&M or Intamin Mega coaster or something like that. It seemed to kind of throw you everywhere. Fun, but scary.

It really looks like a decent ride! I've always liked junior wooden coasters a bit more than I like junior steel coasters because they are a bit more rare. I mean, Vekoma roller skaters and Tivoli coasters are good, but they are EVERYWHERE. This is the first brand new junior wooden coaster that's been built in quite a while it seems. Really hoping I get a chance to ride it and visit this park for the first time...if anything going to Connecticut gives me an excuse to visit Lake Compounce!

^Agreed...Krypton felt like just any old floorless coaster to me, despite being a little bigger and in a cool setting. I even got a few front row rides which didn't do much for me.

This pretty much sums up what I think of SFA...while I will still go to the park if someone wants to go it is so backwards in almost everything that they do it is very frustrating. I mean, for one of the richest areas in the world a park like that is unexcusable. The thrills alone are hard to ignore (for me at least) with an Intamin Mega, Intamin Drop Tower, unique Intamin Flume, decent Flyer, decent launcher, good wooden coaster, etc. There are other parks that I never want to visit again, like Adventure Park USA, Jolly Rogers at the Pier, Waldameer (in the minority on that one) and some on the Jersey Shore, but SFA is clearly a bigger disappointment than those small parks.

This is awesome. How many times do parks destroy older rides in order to build new coasters? Twister looks very awesome too. So much airtime and turns in such tight space. It's now my second most wanted Gravity Group coaster, behind Fireball.
