Why You Shouldn't Sneak Cameras on Rides...
Goliath513 replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Random, Random, Random
Is that Flight Deck I see at the beginning of the video? Great use of animation and humor to present the argument against bringing loose articles on rides. Good job! If only CGA could get a dive machine like that (without the Cedar Fair inspired name of course). -

The "Preview" Thread
Goliath513 replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Google and download "8-Cars Trainer 122" and use the 'own all land' function to remove the border fence. Good luck on your park! Being home this week for fall break, I have had a lot of spare time on my hands. Here is some of the random stuff I've started working on. Project "Darkstar" is complete, and will be posted featuring a music video preview of the ride, and a download whenever I get around to posting it. This one has been in the making for quite some time now and probably sometime within the next week will get posted. 207 ft. B&M Dive Machine. Here's the NL version (made in about 20 minutes) so far of the Arrow coaster going into my RCT2 park I just started. Coming December 26, will be the official thread for my new RCT2 park. Body speed slide. And wooden coaster. BTW, nice thread! I have lots of random unfinished work and this is a good place to show it off! -

^ Right as the train leaves the station and drops into the "JoJo Roll." Kind of a pointless element IMO, but have some pretty good hang-time. I wish I had got more on-ride photos. All I got was one on Nitro. -

Not enough pictures of me... FAIL! Seriously, your pictures are great. Knoebels was one of my favorite parks of the trip. That whole day was amazing. Just to prove your theory about how awesome Phoenix is - it's better than El Toro! Not sure what I was up to in that first picture of me, but you must have caught me at a weird angle while I was reviewing my pictures on my camera. On a side note - I can no longer enjoy Twister II at my home park of Elitch's because Knoebels' Twister is just so much better. It spoiled it for me, not that it's a bad thing. -
2009 Season Hype...
Goliath513 replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Terminator, because it is most likely the only new ride for 2009 I will get the chance to ride next year. 2) At Elitch's, do the water park if you can. It's pretty good for it's size and admission included in the park. If you go for just the coasters and main rides, you will be done by noon and need something to do for the rest of the day. Or, you can hit up the water park in the morning (like I usually do) and then do the rest of the park in the afternoon. You can be finished with the complete Elitch's experience by the evening, then make a trip a few miles west. down the road to Lakeside for the night. Lakeside is amazing after dark! While you are in Denver, you might want to add a day to your trip to go to Waterworld on the north end of town if you like water parks. (I will spare you a religious rant about how great this place is.) One more thing, if you have time, drive 20 minutes west to Golden to visit Heritage Square for their alpine slides. The park is closing down after the 2009 season, so you might want to go there, and get the 2 kiddie coaster credits, while you still have the chance. As for Lagoon, I need to do the drive out there to see my uncle who lives near the park (as an excuse to do the 7 hour drive out there. ) 3) CGA is understandable, but what makes you think V2 at SFDK won't be around much longer? -
So my AP Economics teacher from high school was just arrested for trying to seduce a minor. Didn't see this one coming. http://www.smdailyjournal.com/article_preview.php?type=bnews&id=101462&eddate

Knoebels for sure. Despite being small, it was amazing. Phoenix and Twister are among my favorite coasters! I would not consider this park to be "mediocre" due to it's excitement because it was the most fun I have ever had at a park of it's size. Heck, it beat out most Cedar Fair (and several Six Flags) parks I have been to! -

Adam, I live how you elaborate on the day as a whole rather than just sticking to pictures! My memory is nowhere near that good since my mind has been completely trashed since I've been at college ever since the trip ended. I remember when Mike threw away the prizes - that sure caused some trouble later in the evening. My only regret is not getting to ride their shoot the chutes ride which looked awesome, as well as Trailblazer (Jahan was emotionally devastated when he saw it was closed). Despite this being our second missed credit due to closure, it was still great considering it was also our 2nd TFD (Tony-Free Day). -
The Great State Race-AND THE WINNER IS....

Congratulations! I'm glad I was part of helping out. -
IMO, they should tear down the old Kingdom of the Dinosaurs building and use the space over there for a new and bigger attraction. That way, they wouldn't be destroying more of the park's historic feel/theming. There's plenty of room on the Boardwalk for something new, but I guess they would rather turn the old Knott's into the CCC (concrete, coasters, & cans). I'm just glad they didn't remove Big Foot Rapids and Mystery Lodge like all those rumors circulating around several years ago told us they were. If that day ever comes - R.I.P. Knott's.

Just the fact that you chose an SLC as bad as Elitch's Mind Eraser for your picture is enough to guarantee my vote! Yes, even against Shane's epic awesomeness picture, this still gets my vote because Shane's is going to win by a landslide anyways. -
Here are my highlights. Increased my coaster count from 56 to 177 Credit 100 on Coney Island Cyclone Went to Cedar Point Top 5 new coasters for the season: Maverick, Boulder Dash, Superman RoS (SFNE), Phoenix, El Toro Attended opening day for THBS at SFDK And best of all, did my first TPR trip-east coast tour was amazing! Looking forward to 2009!

Sorry but I cut parks a break... We had a very very poorly run day at Six Flags America and frankly I think the PR people that met with us knew it. I really wanted to love Six Flags America because they have an amazing collection of rides that should be good and the place looks pretty well kept. Sadly it just couldn't hold a candle to any expectation. We were practically ignored on a fair number of the rides. Several of the ops seemed to be having such a good time they hardly wanted to run the rides. The rides also just didn't run as nicely as similar rides we went on (although frankly I will say that Batwing was my favorite flyer of the trip). Ok, that's enough negativity... Sam the pictures are great again. That was a great day although I still think Griffon was seriously disappointing. Oh and please say that Frog was burned... I hate to think of how nasty that thing must have been. Haha! Remember the ride op at Mind Eraser who was trying to get a date with that chick who was also working at the ride? Man, those employees need to get their priorities straight.

I know this took several months to get around to posting, but I've been really busy here at college. I just now had some downtime to put together this update. Day 6 - Busch Gardens Europe Anyways, here is our day at Busch Gardens - one of my nost anticipated days of the trip. This park was nothing less than great. Amazing atmosphere, great coasters, and fantastic food. After our less than satisfactory day at SFA before this was a great par to have to bounce back to! The atmosphere here was on par with Disney! Random theater building in the Ireland section of the park. Of course, this is what we are here for. ERT and filming session on Griffon! And on Alpengeist! This takes the place of Raptor as my new favorite invert! Twistyness! Sam approved (That's not hard to do since it's better than Mean Streak!) What we love most about Europe - BOOBS! With the park still not open to the public yet, we headed over to DarKastle for our behind-the-scenes tour! Car. Not much more to say. This tour could be considered "rubbish" by a certain Mr. Austin in this picture. (jk Mike ) Our tour guide explained all the scenes, effects, and technical specs of the ride! "People ask how much of an elevation change this ride covers. The truth is, it remains the same all the way through." This is why they call it Darkastle. If it was Cedar Fair, it would be called Dark Tunnel Ride. More cool effects! After the tour, we rode it. I have to say, having already walked the track of it, the ride was just that more exciting! Big Bad Wolf. The ride is known for it's drop and insane finale, but there's not much else to it. The beginning is pretty cool, but the stop and second lift kills the excitement. I can only imagine how epic this drop must have been during those first three weeks of operation before they added the trims! A park with only B&M and Arrow coasters is nothing but greatness! We also concluded that a park is not a park without a 3-point challenge attraction. Nessy was one of those surprises for me on the trip. I enjoyed it even more than Viper at SFMM! Wild life here too. This is starting to remind me of SFDK! Line jumpers (or people searching for PMW who make it out alive) will be fed to the wolves! For my first dive machine, I was quite impressed! Many in our group said Sheikra was better though. Yeah and apparently Montu is better than this too... R.I.P. Drachen Fire They didn't have a Joker faint option, so we decided to go with the dog for Tyler. The finished product. Maybe we should have done Roman Rapids BEFORE this. Boat credit. Almost Certainly a great addition for the park! Next, we (the Alveys, Brandon, Jahan, Tyler, Hanno, Dan, me, and some others) participated in a takeover of epic proportions of the lorikeet place! Some of the best memories from that day were made in there! ACEr bird! This is what they do to shiny things like phones! This is pretty much how it goes. You buy the nectar (or whatever it is), and the lorikeets drink from it. We had a hard time getting them to drink from ours. They must have been full. (This explains ACEr bird). No TPR lorikeet takeover would be complete without random acts being filmed by Robb. Robb was the first in our group to get the lorikeet diarrhea credit, but Tyler here got the full blast of it when he tried to kiss it. Taking a break from coasters and birds, game time! Poor frog.. Yeah this is good, but not Ninja good. We won monkeys from a game of skeeball. Emo Jahan in a tree. Treemo? The excitement continued well into the night. Followed by... ERT ON TEH BIG BAD WOLFZ!!!1!11one Once again. Amazing day at Busch Gardens, and I hope to come back to this park sometime soon! Next up: "We think we're better than Busch Gardens and Disney" Thanks for reading!
